Good morning everyone! I just heard the weather for this week. I think I heard that later this week, flurries .

Nice to see the long lost one's still pop in to say heh. Aka Kim and Michelle

We really enjoyed all the Disney shows on the travel channel yesterday. Thanks again Mac for telling us about that - if it weren't for you, I wouldn't have known about it. Then last night Pirates was on USA - so we watched that too pirate:

Leigh - Moving stinks!!!!!:headache: It'll be so good when it's over. I hope
Leighyou got more sleep last night.

Bunchkin - Congrats on winning the Enchanted phone call:woohoo: . I need to get on that website so I can get my free soundtrack.
**The girls would love a postcard!!!! Each of them would love love love Cinderella princess: Thanks for doing that!!!! :goodvibes

Debbie - I'm glad you had a good weekend, and were able to check in on your dad's computer :surfweb:
**I would personally stay somewhere in DTD. I have stayed at The Best Western and The Royal Plaza, and I liked them both alot. Staying at one of these places should help you save a little money.

Rose - I'm sorry you didn't feel well yesterday - I hope today is better :wizard:

Jedi - Your post made me tired :faint: I hope you were able to get some sleep tonight.
**I"m sorry you and Toby aren't speaking. Hugs to you!!!

Disneymama - :wave2:

Crissup - Your birthday meal sounds delish:goodvibes I'm glad you had a nice birthday!!

Tiggerrnnn - I agree with you on the resort choices. Kevin really wants to stay at the GF, but I really don't (but he's stayed at all my choices, so I guess he deserves a turn someday:rolleyes: ). I never gave the Y&B Club a thought before, but now that show made me want to try there. But we sorta decided that we are going to start using our FIL's time share when we go, and not stay on property anymore. Part of me does this :sad1: at that thought, but then when I think of the amount of money we will save I do this :woohoo: :yay:
**How's Tiggs doing??? :dog:

HERSEY & Kim - :wave2:

Well, I gotta go get ready for work - 4 days left.
Have a good day today everyone!!

Good Sunny Morning to Everyone!!! :sunny:

My plans last night were to go to bed early. This did not happen!
I ended up staying up and watching 'Singing in the Rain' on TCM instead!
I can't resist old musicals!! :goodvibes

Hunter is sitting near me working on a cool WDW sticker book that we bought at POP Century during our 2003 trip.....and no one has ever worked in it before!! :rotfl:
It's a sign that we buy too much while we are there that something can sit for years without being used!!! :rolleyes1 ;)

Nicole.....Brother? :confused3 What brother? :duck: :rotfl:

:lmao: :
I saw him check in on the Killers Thread and thought to myself that now you won't be able to comment on your family anymore....good OR bad!! :rotfl:

I didn't even know about the Enchanted Phone Calls!! :confused3 I'm so glad I won just so now I know about it and will probably be using it all the time now!!! :rotfl: :cool1:

Geoff turned 16 on Sunday.. YIKES!!

Happy b-day to Geoff!!! :cake:
Sixteen!!! I can't even imagine my DD being 16!!!! :faint: Well, I have 6 1/2 yrs to prepare!!! :rotfl:

Have a great day everyone!!

Bunchkin, I swear, if you don't start playing the lottery, you're losing out on millions. You keep winning all these neato prizes, maybe there's a lottery card out there just waiting for you!! Congrats on the Enchanted Phone Call.

It was really great to meet up again with you too Slo. Megan really likes Stephanie. It was really a good day start to finish. Except the storm that rolled through around 10:00 p.m. That was something alright!

TiggerRn, It was really great to meet you and your kids are adorable.

The movie was awesome and I wouldn't mind seeing it again.

I now have new found faith in the Travel Channel! They actually aired the Disneyland show that I wanted to see so badly on Sunday. Last time, they mixed it up with a WDW show I've seen lots of times.

Have a good Monday everyone!! :woohoo:

I played a scratch off lottery card from the grocery store the other day and won nothing! So maybe I'm not that lucky at all. :rotfl:
But then again I asked Hunter to pick the card! So maybe it was his fault I did win anything!! :lmao:

Just finished watching 4 Best Hotels on the Travel Channel. My pick would be the Beach Club (but I've already stayed at the AKL and WL so I would be up for trying something new). I've never had a great desire to stay at the Grand Floridian. I know, I'm weird. If you've never stayed at AKL, that is my favorite so far. Loved the smells from there. BOMA is an awesome buffet to eat at.
But if you're looking to be a little tighter with the purse strings, my vote would be Port Orleans Riverside.

OK, Macraven after my reminding everyone about the shows today, I forgot to set my recorder. I missed all the shows while I was out today. Didn't get home til 4. Anyone record them? I would've loved to have had them all on 1 tape for leisurely viewing on rainy days.:guilty: :sad1:

Thanks for the advice! I do have to pinch pennies this time though because I want to stay on the monorail in the fall. PO gets a lot of votes. It is an option. Plus I have been debating about becoming a AAA memeber. Opinions on that???
Also have considered staying by DTD in June too.

My TIVO lost the cable signal and didn't tape all the WDW shows I wanted last night!!! I am calling cable today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tiggerrn2 and Slo......

I am telling you girls....once you stay at GF you would fall in love! IMO It lives up to the hype!
BUT........very pricey!!!!:scared1: The best deal was after 9/11 we got the "pay for 4 get 3 nights free"!!!!!! That's how we got hooked on GF. Then the next year it was pay for 4 get 2 free still a good deal....
but then NO deal:sad2: . I am still paying off the full price 9 night stay (we did get some Visa promo discount on that one but we figured out that was basically on the DP)! Best trip we have ever had in WDW! We also love Poly........

No call about my computer yet, still using the one downstairs which isn't so convenient with the kids hanging on me while I am on it!!!!!

I'm from Naperville, I have lived there since first grade but now I go to college in Bowling Green, OH.

Hi! I'm from Lisle and just bought a townhouse in Aurora. I keep circling Naperville. :rotfl: (I did go to Naperville Central H.S., though.)

Well my move went ok. Everything seems to be intact. Some boxes are a little smooshed, but I'm hoping that it's just magazines. (I haven't unpacked anything.) After they left I sat down on the couch and took my first nap in my new house. And then all night last night I just kept repeating, I'm so glad that move is over. :rotfl:

debbie, i have AAA from chgo and it cost me $54 for a year membership.
i did the sign up on line and saved the $10 fee for processing.

for disney, i have 20% off /discount/ for my room in the values.
you don't have to book thru AAA to get the discount. i called disney in january and booked my room and told them i had the AAA. they said i may have to show it when i check in. never have had to before though but, they always say that.

you get many good deals. you get discounts for shopping on line like target and other stores. they honor AAA.

many hotels and some resturants honor AAA for a discount of 10%.

it also covers car emergencies but that is not why i got it. i got it for the discounts on universal and disney hotels.
for cars, it includes towing, running out of gas, locking your keys in the car, etc. for an additional $10 per person that lives with you, you can add them on to the policy.

you get neat maps customized to any trip you want to make. for that, you have to call an AAA office. there is one AAA office that specializes in disney, i think that one is around palatine....or somewhere in that direction.
some in the city also.

if you do book a disney trip with AAA discount, you can get the lounge pass at disney and special diamond parking pass.

whew, now i have writers cramps from all this typing.

hello to all my chgoland homies here !!:yay:

boy, if i could clear the parks the way i clear a thread, i would be popular.

is everyone watching tv tonight???

Hi friends!!!! :wave2:

I'm just popping by for a very very quick hello. I have some research to do online tonight before I go to bed, but I had to stop by here first :teeth:

So, what happened here today? :scratchin Lets see!!!

macraven - Short weeks are great aren't they?! :goodvibes

geffric - Happy 16th birthday to Geoff!!!! :bday: :cake:
I hope he had a wonderful birthday!!!

Bunchkin - Can you believe I have never seen Singing in the Rain  I've always wanted to, and I never have - I gotta get right on that!!!!
**Thanks for thinking of the girls (and all the kids for that matter) with the postcards. That's so sweet of you!!! :goodvibes

Sam - Stephanie really enjoyed seeing Megan again too ::yes:: Actually Stephanie had fun with all the kids - she such a social butterfly:butterfly

Debbie - I'm sure the GF is very very nice, but it's to white for me. Yes you heard me right - it's just to white. I like the warmth of the brown tones at WL and at The Poly (I'm weird, I know  )

Jetergal87 - :welcome:
Please come by often and visit - we would love to have you!!!

Leigh - I happy for you that the move is behind you. Moving is very stressful :headache:

Well, I'm off to go surf the web:surfweb:
See you tomorrow before the sun shines

Hey Chicagoans... I'm new to the DIS boards!

is everyone watching tv tonight???

:rotfl2: I guess we are all still grabbling with having getting back to
routine after spring break...:teacher: I still haven't even gotten dinner tonight (for myself -- I did at least feed the kids). This back to the routine thing is ugh! :rotfl: Tomorrow should be interesting since the kids have to get up early as my DD needs to go to school about an hour early. Here it is 10 pm & they are still doing homework. :sad2:

Jetergal87 & joanne312 :welcome:

I was watching some of the shows on the travel channel yesterday & ended up with DH & I having a tiff. What's new? It's all about me wanting to go back to Disney & him telling me he doesn't want to go. GRUMP! We were watching the Grand Floridian one and he happened to come into the room and say "Is that the place we want to stay?" (i.e. "the one with red roof" that he could see from our Contemporary hotel room). Then a little spat about him never getting to go where he wants to go for vacation (umm...the last 3 BEFORE we went to Disney World were all places for HIM! As if dragging 2 small kids to watch him drive around a racetrack all day was a great vacation for us?), blah, blah, blah. I want to just leave him home. I just don't think I could handle 4 kids alone. ALTHOUGH....I did have an idea of basically using my DD as a mother's helper during the day so we would be only going on rides we all could go on, etc... & then putting the boys in one of the kids club because if we go in 2009 like I want he will be 12, so unless ages change I *think* he could still go. Then while they are in the kids club, her & I just go to the park and can do the bigger kid rides that SHE wants to do (she likes roller coasters & things but the boys wouldn't be able to do all those.)

Every time I suggest he just stay home then & I will deal with the kids, he manages to imply he wants to come, so I don't know what his deal is. Some passive/aggressive thing I guess. :rotfl: :rotfl:

becky, leave the kids at home with mr becky and come to the motherland with me..........

mr mac refuses to go to the motherland.
i took 3 boys there by myself the first time when they were in 1st, 3rd and 4th grade. i screamed a lot and only lost them 2 times. but, we went back the year after and after and after.

when they were in high school, they had summer jobs and didn't, couldn't go with me. then i would take one or two with in may. took them out of school after finals in mid may.

:lmao: I saw him check in on the Killers Thread and thought to myself that now you won't be able to comment on your family anymore....good OR bad!! :rotfl:
Actually, with THIS 'DIS' bro (now DVC too), I can share ANYTHING! :lmao: He's HOOKED!!!!!!! :rotfl2: Wish he was taking me WITH tho! :sad2:

I gotta try and sleep now. Kelly's been sick, DH came home today to stay with her, DS said he'll stay with her Tues. I like my new job but, I HATE that I feel the NEED to be there for the little I get, money-wise. My kids/family ARE more important BUT, with Kelly being sick and DH needing surgery surgery soon, I need to pick and choose the importance of when I don't work. :guilty: UGH.

'Nite all! :grouphug:

Good morning!

Kim It's a hard balance who needs you at what time. I agree when your DH has surgery he will need you more. Sorry Kelly is not feeling well  Hopefully she will feel better very soon.

Becky ALex and I are going the first week of Sept. We could help with the kiddo's if you can swing that ;)

Welcome to our new friends joanne312 Jetergal87

Mac You ONLY lost the kids 2x ? :rotfl2:
Oh I went by that Apt building that lost it's roof it's about 1 block from the "blue" restaurant. (Relax Mac it's fine) Those poor people it almost looks like a bomb went off no roof and part of the outside walls on the top floor is gone.

Well almost time to go back to work. I wish I were saying that in reverse :thumbsup2
