Kevin wasn't to excited about what I was going to make for dinner tonight (the leftovers from our Italian dinner this weekend), so now he is getting us takeout:rolleyes: Which is okay with me, because now I don't have to cook on this Valentine's Day :thumbsup2 :teeth:

So, now I'm waiting for that takeout :rolleyes1 He was just about to go get it when his fire dept pager went off for someone that fell on the ice. So now I have to wait until he's done with his call to go get the food. I hope it doesn't take to long - I'm hungry!!!!!

Thanks slo...:) I tell ya, its a jungle out there..(other threads) !! Especially the pin/discount thing! Sorry I admitted to receiving one ! I have only skimmed this thread, but everyone seems friendly...and happy!:)

Wow, you are very very brave! I wouldn't even tell my Mom if I had gotten one of those. Welcome to our thread! Now that we're all friends, what's that pin code anyway? Just kidding! :rotfl:

We are a supportive little group here and we are happy you got a great little deal for WDW. So, when ya goin?

Tell your husband that this bad weather won't last much longer. Maybe just til about June! As I'm sure you know, one day it will be 30 and the next it will jump up to 85 and stay that way til mid-September.

SamIAM...going to POP 3/2 to 3/5 Mini trip as well! My *big* discount was a value resort for $83 at this time, regularly $119...just needed a Disney Fix! :) And my DD has 2 days off of school, gotta love that Casimer Pulaski fella! And its her b day! Just me, her and Grandma! My hubby moved here officially 12/24/02....he loves to shovel ?! And we have a 175 ft driveway...hellooo, obviously we dont live downtown! Its my first time at POP! Can't wait!

Hi Rose-Thanks for the info, but not the same Brian Cleary. Go figure.
Hope you all had a nice Valentine's day. We went out for dinner. Mine was good but if I'd known how much it was going to be.....:scared1: I would have chosen something else. I had the Surf and Turf. I could've eaten 10 lunches for that one dinner.:scared: Like I said, never would've eaten it. It was a special and the price wasn't posted, and stupid me didn't think to ask ahead.
Welcome DisneyBride'03. Come back and visit often. We're a good group. No worries here.:welcome:
The kids should have school tomorrow. The roads are pretty clear out here now. I just wonder if I should plan to go in the afternoon for the party they missed today or not??
Well, gonna run. Get a few things put away before bed. Tired today for some reason.

Well, life is back to normal here
Stephanie is going to school
Katie is going to daycare
and I'm going to work

Sam - Did you and Megan play outside again?

DisneyBride - I bet you are getting excited about your trip:cool1: What is this pin discount thing you are talking about? I've heard about it, but I know nothing about it

Tiggernn - I'm sorry that your dinner was so expensive:guilty: Where did you go eat? We had Bellacinos - have you heard of them? They also own Mancino's in Illinois.

Bunchkin - How are you feeling today? I hope you feel better :wizard:

Well, I gotta run and get ready for work
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Hello!!

I'm still sick. Actually, I'm worse then yesterday. Sinus/head stuffiness thingy. :( :headache: Still a sore throat too.

Lots of laundry to do around here today and some cleaning. And I have to prepare for tomorrow's troop meeting. Other then getting together for a movie outing in Dec. our troop hasn't officially met since Nov.!!!!

slo The party was ok. I'm just glad it was the last one of the school year. I had very little help and one mom never sent her donation of juice boxes in. :confused3 Luckily, one of the other mom's who is a head room mom for her other child's class gave us extra boxes they had. :)

What time did you finally get your dinner? :)

Tiggerrn You're very lucky that a neighbor came by and plowed you out. ;) I hope your kids have their Valentine parties today!!

DisneyBride :welcome: to the Chicago thread!!
I hope you hang out with us! We are quite tame compared to other threads! ;)
I hope you enjoy your upcoming trip!!! And I think it's great you got a code!! :thumbsup2 I won't tell!!:ssst:

Rosemarie Was the Sinatra impersonator any good?

Good for you, and I think you will like Pop for such a short stay. They have THE BEST gift shop on property next to World of Disney. It's really large and it has pretty much EVERYTHING, hence the name, Everything Pop! I did have a few "issues" in the food court, but the food was good and it was well laid out and things were easy to find. Just don't come between a man and his coffee :rolleyes1 . That's a long story, I'll tell you sometime. I see you're doing the P&P party! Make sure to let us know how you liked that! I hear it's not doing well attendance wise, so it might not come back next year. I heard though that the decorations and the lights are the best of any party so far! Another trip report I read around here somewhere said the Fireworks were really awesome too!

Girls only trips! Sounds like fun!

Thanks for the welcome everyone! :goodvibes It's amazing how this thread actually "feels" like a community where people are actually nice to one another. Not saying all the other threads aren't:rolleyes1 ......So...slo...the "pin" is actually a number, code I rec'd in the mail, a cute little postcard advertising Valu Resorts and how I could go on my vacation sooner than I thought. Rate was $83/nt. I think I only received perhaps is beacuse I visited the new site, disneyparks.com and ordered a dvd vaca planner. (?) After booking and proving to my hubby I could our daughter on this trip for abt $1000 (inc airfare) I find out I could have stayed at a mod, water view for $120 w/the pin #! But I wanted to try the POP!
**Try Priceline, after no luck at AirTran snd Southwest, I got RT for $185 pp!**

Sorry for the typo's...we are trying DDP as well, and just a 3 day base pass.
So any of you fellow ChicagoLand folks want some *special Info*:rolleyes1 ;) PM me!

Bunchkin..thanks for the welocme! Am looking forward to the trip, especially while looking at all this snow!
So SamIam21...tell me about the coffee situation at POP, puhleeze! I have read its pretty bad! Anyone here have any opinions on CSR? Thinking of that for next year...

 Youngest one is teething...will be hard to leave her for a few days, but Daddy is happy to have her all to himself. She is his "first" he missed out on the baby years obvisously with my older children.

Well, maybe too much 411...Enjoy your day everyone! And a special thanks to debbie6621...(I think thats it) I read one of her posts somewhere, and that's how I found this thread!:cool1: I will fill you in on the P and P Party! Wasn't going to go, but not sure if I'd ever get the chance again. Yeah for low attendance!

Welcome! :welcome: So true about some other threads. :lmao: I tend to tread lightly on some of them (and actually run the other way from others! :rotfl: I don't debate well.)

Our thread thankfully is friendly.

At their school yest, they even had a children's author show up as scheduled, Brian Cleary. I was surprised he made it in yest, as I thought he would cancel b/c of the weather. He must be doing visits at other schools in my dist. I suppose.

I was just reading back through this thread and a comment I overheard DS-9 make to DD last night was something about they had an author come to school yesterday. I wonder if it was him? It was late, I didn't think twice about the comment until I read this. We only have a 1/2 day today so I will have to ask him when they get home tonight who it was. He probably won't remember but maybe if *I* say the name he will do a "yeah, that's it" type of thing.

I just signed DD up for her Girl Scout Resident camp this summer! She will be thrilled she got in! Have to love that on-line registration stuff. Woo Hoo!!!! Now, I hope she can handle it. :o As it's an advanced class but she hasn't taken the prequisite one. I did have some e-mails with the camp director asking if the previous camps she took at Camp Dean counted. The camp director basically said it sounded like she had the basics covered & if I felt she could handle a week away to go ahead and sign up. She's going to Camp McCormick and taking a horse one. Now, I have to make sure she goes gets some boots with the proper heels before all boots disappear off the shelf (finding boots that can be used for riding in the summer is next to impossible! Unless anyone here knows a place that sells horse riding stuff year-round including boots).

Hey you guys!
Have not been here for a while.
Just wanted to say hi and share the baby news and picture of my new baby girl!

I tried putting a picture up on here but having a hard time so I put a link up of my page.
The birth info is right above the picture.

Congrats Aces. The baby is beautiful.
Good afternoon everyone.
Slo, dinner was at Vic's on Main in Crete. Serves me right for thinking I could have lobster for dinner. Oh well. We rarely go out anywhere. And it did taste wonderful!!
Well, better run. Have to get to school to help witht the parties.

Good afternoon, all!

ACES...what an adorable baby! Congratulations!

DISNEYBRIDE..Another welcome to the Chicago thread! We stayed at POP Century last May for 8 nights and loved it there! I know you will have a great time...

LEIGH...Stars on Ice (almost typed Disney on Ice!) was amazing. It was incredible to have seats so close. Usually when we go to ice-shows, we buy balcony seats, but we got these tickets from my brother and his friend, and they were on-ice seats. I was surprised when the usher took us down to the folding chairs that were set up right next to the ice. And, the skating was just incredible...I especially like the pairs skaters, and Kurt Browning was there, too. The only problem is now we're spoiled and I'm always going to want on-ice (very expensive!) seats, lol!

SAMIAM...I loved the gift shop at POP, too. I would *have* to detour thru there every time we came back from the parks!:)

SLO...I hope you were able to have dinner at a somewhat reasonable hour last night?? Mark has had a bad cold this week, so we didn't go out and I tried fixing something new for dinner. It was a taco skillet thing, and well, let's just say, I won't be making it again...

BUNCHKIN..I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Hope you feel better soon!

HERSEY..Our little doggie dog doesn't like being out in the cold, either..but he's a little black dog and the other day he put just about his whole head in the snow, so he looked like a little white dog! Totally cracked me up!!! So is spring just around the corner???

EVERYONE ELSE>..:wave2: I hope you all have a *great* day!:)

Hi all-
I woke up with a sore throat this morning- not too bad, but my sinuses are hurting me  Had chunky chicken noodle soup for lunch.

Aces- Congrats on your new bundle of joy! So glad all went well with your labor and delivery! Your baby girl is adorable!
Is Amy there with you now, did she move by you?

Slo- Hope Kevin's fireman's call wasn't too long last nite and he was able to pick up dinner.
My DH brought home a dozen roses for me last night! I usually don't get roses from him on Valentine's Day, usually carnations. But I love roses better! We cooked dinner at home last night. Maybe we will go out to dinner over the weekend.

Bunchkin- Dh's company had hired about 3 different Sinatra impersonators the x-mas dinners we had. His work stopped having the fancy x-mas party dinners about 3 or 4 yrs ago. DH started where he works now in 2000. So hte first 3 yrs of the company x-mas parties were really nice, then his co. stopped the x-mas parties with hte Sinatra guy in 2003 or 2004 :sad2:
One Sinatra guy I remembered was hired from Vegas and he was in his 80's. He was pretty good! :thumbsup2

Becky- let me know who the children's author that came by your ds's school yest. I know our school is really involved with the literacy program big time.

Hi to everyone else I didn't mention :wave2:

Ok, gotta go. Have a good day everyone.

Thank you all. I am enjoying every bit of her Even w/ no sleep. LOL
I just did not realize how much busier I would be.

roseprincess~ Amy did not move here yet! The last I knew, they were trying to get things together to move. I have not talked to her for about a week and a half and I am starting to get really worried.
I hope I hear from her real soon.

Thank you Bunchkin!

Has anybody talked to Nite0wl71?????????????
Is she still in Florida or is she home now????

I need to know about Amy!!!!!!!! I am way too worried now!!!!!

She sent me an e-mail and it did not sound good so I tried calling her.

Nite0wl71~ If you are back please tell her to get a hold of me somehow or let me know how she is please!
