GOOD MORNING SNOW BUNNIES!!!

About a 1/2 hour ago or so I got woken up by the school district's emergency phone call system. No school today! The kids will be so happy!! Well, Lauren will be happy that she doesn't have to go to school! But Hunter won't, because his sister will be cutting into his 'Mommy and me time'.

What was up with that!! 5:15 in the morning my phone is ringing. This is Honeywell Instant Alert blah blah blah, the schools are closed blah blah blah! That's really all I heard. I went back sleep on my new mattress and box spring... ahhh Heavenly!

Bunchkin, Megan was so happy that school was closed, but then her face fell and she was like Oh Man, I want to go to Nicole's! I was like, well you better get walking. She said, Mom! I really want to play with that train track set thing in their living room. I said, well that ain't gonna happen today! Sorry. She's all bummed! She's got the day off school, but it doesn't matter because all she wants to do is play Geo Trax???

So, I promised to play SceneIt and watch Cinderella III later on! I got some work to do (cantcha tell??) and then it's an afternoon with Megan!

Stephanie is officially off of school for today - she is very excited!!!

She wants to go play outside, but I told her that it's not a good day to play outside - which makes her sad

So, I think I will make it up to her by asking her to help me bake some brownies and chocolate chip cookies Those are always yummy on a snowy day. Then we still have our Monopoly game out, and maybe we can play a little of that

I'm sure hoping they cancel CCD tonight. These kids don't need to go out into the snow I think God will understand

Well, I"m off to do some chores so I can have time to do the things I mentioned.

Bunchkin congrats on your prizes. I am one of those people who enters every contest and never wins a thing.
OK I think my district is the only one south of I80 in school today. The day after the Superbowl, the school was closed on account of cold????!!!!! Today the wind is blowing 40mph and wintersnowstorm warnings all over, and they go to school. I don't get it Guess I'll start the , do a little of and then start to sort toys in DH room and wait for the phone to ring that school is dismissing early .
Leigh your furniture looks great. I think I would be bouncing all over with the wait. The anticipation of a new house.
DH wants to move ASAP. Still need to wallpaper upstairs and paint. Anyone know any good wallpaper people? I keep asking around, but can't get any good referrals. I've taken down a lot of the old peeling paper, and the walls behind are not in good enough condition to paint. Would take too much work to get them in shape, so figured I'd just repaper again.
Becky hope your DH feels better soon. It's so hard to rest with others around though. Hope he can close himself off from the rest of the house and sleep. And congrats to your DD on her gymnatics meet. And definately you must be the chaperone for any DL trips. That just goes without saying.
Sandy, did Stephanie end up going to school or did they cancel?
I am using generic insullation today. The wind is blowing so hard at the sliding glass doors to our deck, I had to stuff the cracks with towels I've always said we'd never die of carbon monoxide poisoning here-too drafty in this old place!!!
OK well I'd better get something done. Told DH I'd go get groceries today, now I don't think so. Have a sandwich.

Howdy again!!

Did some of this.. which I'm almost done.

And we just got done baking a couple dozen heart shaped cookies.
The really yummy sugar cookies from Market Day.
We sprinkled the heck out of them. Some even have Mickey head sprinkles on them!! Gotta love Wilson baking co.!!!


Sam Sorry Megan can't come over to play. It's just too treacherous out there! Our area is getting blasted!!!!!!
And even though it's a short drive, it would probably take forever on a day like today!

I know about how she feels about the trains!!!! She totally did NOT want to leave yesterday afternoon! When the girls got off the bus they couldn't believe what Hunter and I did with the train set! They immediately went to play with them!
Geo Trax are awesome!!!

Lauren likes that game. We also have the Toy Story Monopoly Jr. game witch Hunter loves!

I actually think watching the school closings this moring, our school district is the only one having school today.
I've already shoveled out the sidewalk and part of driveway, and it's drifted back in again.
It must be worse by you though? Seems like you are getting more snow than we are. Mostly just blowing the old snow around here.

Well, have we had enough of winter yet? Yikes! I actually took DD out there for a bit and it is wild weather! Now DH is snow blowing the whole neighborhood. I don’t know how to use the snow blower but I am thinking maybe I should start so I can do it while everyone is at work.

Deb-LOVE your snowman. Did you do that today? Thanks for the picture threads. Love looking at the empty parks. That's why I book those early ADRs at CP. Just to walk in an empty park and enjoy the quiet early morning. Nothing better!!! Although being one of the very last to leave MNSSHP was a close second.
I shoveled again this afternoon before the kids got off the bus and so DH could pull in the driveway. It was drifting back in as fast as I shoveled it out.
Friends of mine leave tomorrow for WDW. They are going to Fort Wilderness cabins for her 50th birthday. I sure do hope they can get out of the airport. On second thought, I sure wish I was going along.

WOW did we get some snow! I had to shovel before I could pull my car into the drive. Good thing it wasn't too heavy. After dinner of frozen Uno pizza I'm going to make me a bubble bath and I'm not coming out until spring . Yes I know I'll be a little pruny but darn it's cold out there. Where's our global warming?

I wonder if there will be school tomorrow?

Hersey, the tortilla crusted tilapia is wonderful. Has a little bite to it. And you can sort of taste a little lime. Would be heavenly with a nice frozen margarita!!!!
OK now here's a kicker. I already know that the kids do not have school tomorrow. And they had just finished their valentine's cards before the call came. Guess we'll try to go to the big hill tomorrow and go sledding if it's not too windy like it was today. Then maybe to a little coffee shop for hot cocoa. (Then again, staying indoors and playing games may be good, too.)

I have a sore throat!!! I just got it all the sudden like this afternoon.
I first thought I was having an allergic reaction to what I ate for lunch, a salad, but I took Benadryl and that's not helping.
Litterally no sign of a sore throat this morning and than BLAMO, a really sore throat.


Well, I'm tired. That Benadryl is making me sleeeeppppyyyyyyyyyyyy!!


DH is out shoveling again. It seems so pointless since it's all blowing back!

Took Kelly to school today and, it was closed! Never got a call! Her teacher called me tonight tho, personally, at 10:45, to say school is closed again Wed! Altho, that means MORE shoveling for us!!
