Sandy Just so you know you dont have to renew the Safari club. It's a one time fee to sign up and good till the cows come home. I've had ours for 3 or 4 years now.

Yeah, I know ::yes::

I was just meaning that if I had to I would, because I loved getting seated so quick :thumbsup2 I still can't get over it - I wasn't expecting that at all :woohoo:

Hey.....Phil Schwartz (the weather guy on channel 7) just said that Monday night we may get 3 - 6 inches of snow - The girls will be doing alot of this....

:cool1: :worship:  :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2:

Hi all-Happy Sunday-
Been busy the past couple of days or so, just haven't posted.
Everything went well with the Jump Rope for the Heart fundraiser at school this past Friday! there were about 3 other moms I ended up volunteering with. Our new gym teacher this school yr is wonderful! She is so organized with the kids with how they did the jump roping, etc. I got to know the gym teacher alot more, as she discussed with me how personal this project/fundraiser was for her(people in her family has had heart problems, heart surgery, etc). It was pretty neat how all this worked out, with the gym teacher and I have some of that in common. I am so glad the gym teacher has been spreading awareness of heart defects, other heart condition, etc. As last yr, I was trying to do that (spreading awareness) in the PTA committee I was on last yr. A woman from the American Heart Assoc. came around and took pics of the kids jumping rope on hte last session of the day. She only stayed maybe 10 or 15 min and left to go to another school in our district. I was hoping to say hello to this woman and talk to her for a minute, but that didn't happen, oh well. But everything with the fundraiser went well! :thumbsup2

Yest. Chrissy had her annual eye exam with her ped. opthalmologist. Her eyes are getting a little worse, so we have to order new and stronger lenses for her glasses unfortunately :( . Chrissy has had glasses since 1st grade. I did find out from her eye Dr. that Chrissy has astigmatism of both eyes! :scared1: I was a little shocked by that. I have astigmatism of both eyes, too, but it came on later when I got older. Well, at least Chrissy can wear glasses to help her with that and she isn't developing any eye diseases(cataracts or glaucoma), which is good.

Hi, all - it's been awhile since I've checked in - too many family and personal issues to deal with. Hope all is well, and that you're all trying to stay warm! At least we're not getting hit like the east coast - one positive thing, eh?

Michelle

Leigh- I'm sorry to hear you have epilepsy, but glad you are under control with your meds :thumbsup2 So glad to hear you are a success story :cool1: I knew of a mom that her DD developed seizures in college. Not sure what happened after that, as I don't see this mom anymore, this was a few yrs ago. I'm guessing her DD got on some seizure meds.
I also took care of an elderly woman(in her late '80s) that had a grand mal seizure one time, the middle of the night. (I was working graveyard shifts full time at a nursing home at the time). I had to roll in this huge 50- pounder oxygen tank to give her O2 and put hte tongue blade in her mouth, etc. It was pretty scary, as I never had to do that before or had to witness a grand mall seizure before. The lady finally settled and we had to admit her to the hosp. for observation. When working in nursing, there's a first for everything. I'm sure tiggerrn can attest to that ;)

Debbie- I'm sorry to hear about your cousin and her epilepsy. Hope all goes well with being off her meds :wizard:

Slo- Glad Stephanie and your family had a great time at Disney on Ice and Rain Forest Cafe :cool1:

Hi to everyone else :wave2:

Quick automotive question for anyone that can answer this that lives in the northwest burbs: Does anyone know what happened to Brandy's Auto Repair?

I just found out the other day that all the Brandy's auto repair centers closed. They had maybe about 5 locations throughout the nw suburbs; Schaumburg, Streamwood, Carol Stream, Rolling Meadows, and Lisle/Naperville area. They are all closed :( We went to the Schaumburg location for many years. We defintely were frequent customers, as we always have car repairs. We never got a letter from them stating they were closing. :confused3 Wondering if the whole chain went out of business for some reason . Dh tried to call them this past Friday to ask a quick question and they had an outgoing message on their machine that they are closed and thank you for 18 wonderful years of business. That was it.
I googled Brandy's and didn't come up with much. I did see they are selling their property at the Schaumburg location. Wonder if they filed bankruptcy :confused3 At the Schaumburg location, they were always busy and did a great job, in me and Dh's opinion. Just wondering what happened? Guess we'll have to look elsewhere for a different mechanic- maybe Sears automotive.

Hi..:wave2:

The Boy Scout panacake breakfast went well. Not sure how much we make 'cause the expenses haven't come in yet.. But it was a success. Today 3 cub scouts are bridging to our troop so we have that to go to later this afternoon. Then Eric wants snowbard stuff so we are going to Play It Again Sports. Last night we went out for DH's B'day to the Spagetti Warehouse.. It was OK..I order eggplant paramigiana ( sp) and it was bad... the boys thought their fetticine alfredo was good...

Today is laundry:laundy: and cleaning and cooking for the week...

See ya later..

Huh. :confused3 I don't know anything about the closing, but the CPA firm I used to work for did the accounting for them, at least at that time. I can't think of the name of the guy who owned it.

Hello! :wave2:

It's been a lounging around the house kind of day for all of us here! :goodvibes

slo Good to hear that the ice show was lots of fun! They girls must have been soooo suprised to be going! :)
Chili in a crockpot is easy. I made a big batch.
I browned approx. 2 lbs of ground sirloin with one large chopped onion, salt and pepper.
Drain grease.
Place meat/onion mixture in crockpot.
Add 2 cans of Hunt's diced tomotos with chili seasoning (the seasoning is already added), 1 can of diced tomatos, one can of tomato sauce and one can of kidney beans.
Mix together.
Add one packet of chili seasoning, salt and pepper. Mix.

Cook for 5 hours on high.

Too easy and it tasted really good. Tony said it was the best chili ever! :)

You could add more beans if you like, but Tony's not big on beans so I only added one can.

Sam Your play time in the snow sounded fun!! :)

I have to run and start dinner!! Night all!!

I never heard of them (Rainforest Cafe) charging to renew. I would give them a call :listen:

I'm sorry what is the safari club?

Safari club is the card you buy at Rainforest cafe. You get a discount off your food and discount in the store. I perk is the priorty seating. They send you a coupon to use around your birthday. I don't remember how much it cost.

I've also never paid to renew. In fact, never had to renew, it's just always good. They have been slowly cutting back the perks, but it's still nice to have.

Looks like I'm going to get a decent amount of snow tonight :cold:
Tracy Butlet on Channel 7 just said we are in the 6 - 12" range - Stephanie should be thrilled!!! :woohoo:

Rosemarie - I'm glad the fundraiser went well :thumbsup2
**I'm sorry about Chrissy's eyes not doing well :guilty: I sure hope her perscription doesn't continue to get worse:wizard:

geffric - I'm glad the pancake breakfast went well :thumbsup2

macraven - I have never been asked to renew, but I've had mine for about 3 years now. Maybe at 5 years they ask :confused3 - I guess I will find out in a couple of years.

Leigh, HERSEY, Disneynut, Crissup - :wave2:

Bunchkin - Thanks for the receipe:goodvibes I will have to give it a try!!!
**How's Lauren doing?

Well, I gotta run and start getting ready for work.
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Happy Monday:yay:

Thanks for the info on the safari club. I am not a big fan of the Rainforest cafe so I do not see the benefit for myself.

I've been sick all weekend. Health wise it has not been a good week:confused:

I have to go back to work today. I will be in the citibank building for the next few days. I hate going downtown because I need to take the train and there is never any parking:sad2:

well I have to go have a great day all.:cool2:

Sending Warm Weather Vibes to all my Chicago Friends!!

Frankie!!!

slo How was dinner with the in-laws??
Lauren is feeling better. But now I think her asthma is giving her problems. So I had to use her Flovent inhaler this morning. And I will stop by her school later to give her another puff and some more cold meds, just in case.
And now Hunter has a little cough! Ugh!!

Disneynut Sorry to hear you are sick. I sure do hope you're feeling better soon! :thumbsup2

geffric Glad to hear the pancake breakfast went well!! :)

Hersey Are you using a travel agent for your fall trip to WDW?

Leigh Your closing date is sooo close!!! You must be so excited!!
I remember waiting for our new house to be done being built!! It was so exciting!! and because we live so close to where we used to live, litterally right down the road, we could drive by every day to check on it! Which actually made the waiting seem even harder to manage!!

I've been pricing out resorts for going late Sept. to WDW and going to MNSSHP again!! We just loved MNSSHP....way better than MVMCP!!

Anyone else going to MNSSHP in late Sept?

Hi Everyone,
Glad everyone tried to stay warm and cozy this weekend, had successful fundraisers, had fun at the ice show or enjoyed just vegging out.

Thanks for the sunshine Bunchkin...and yes I am a teacher:teacher: but have stayed home with the kids since DD was born. I did REALLY love my job though!
Also, we usually do WDW in the fall and love  MNSSP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See my Siggie for my fall trips.... We are trying to find away to go for my DDs 5th birthday and hit either the MNSSP or MVMCP. Her BDay is November 10th!

Leigh...I am going to PM you my cousins email address. You guys can chat if you want. Your Epilepsy sounds like what she has gone through. She had a seizure at a HS Homecoming game!:sad2: She also is VERY familiar with medications! She worked for a company that did Marketing for drug companies!
DisneyNut I hope you feel better!:wizard:
Rose..I hate when you love a product, or a place, or a doctor like that and then they are gone! It's so confusing as to what happens and you miss them or the service and there is nothing you can do about it...
I used this one website service where they emailed you what was on sale in your neighborhood or you could go to the site and look up who had the best prices for certain item and I loved it!!! One day I go to the site and it was just gone! I still miss it!

My DD loves RFC but I am not crazy for the food or prices there. She loves it there though and I do like their kid menu so we do go on occasion. I am going to look into joining the Safari club. I probably should have joined when I had a party there for DDs Bday to get that discount!

We went to ABT to look for a few things yesterday because they had their huge customer appreciation sale. We went from looking at a $700.00 (not including a $60.00 an hour instillation fee) overhead DVD playing system for our mini van to the $1500.00 version where the DVD screens and players are in the back of the head rests (again not including about 5 hours of instillation fees) to actually leaving with a portable Sony DVD player that only cost $164.00 (huge sale price) plus $25.00 for a case that hooked onto the head rest! I said to my DH…for $1600.00 we could stay at POP for a week!

Winter seems to be zapping all my energy though. I feel like doing nothing! When we don’t have to get up to go anywhere I am thrilled! What a bum I am. My poor kids! Maybe we will try and play in the snow today if I feel it’s warm enough. Seems awfully gloomy out there! I am such a baby when it comes to the cold!

I vist all the picture threads I am subscribed to for my WDW pick me up! I love those threads! I need to get back to WDW so I can get some new pics to share!!
Sorry to be rambling on and on....
Have a great week everyone!

Hi everyone,
Happy gloomy Monday.
Work was atrocious this weekend. And all your talk here of seizures-I just have to tell you, I had a girl try to fake a seizure on me Saturday. I wanted to slap her. I worked Neurology for 2 years before I went to Labor and Delivery.
This girl is lying in the bed rolling her eyes up and shaking her arms, all the while following my commands and asking her boyfriend to help her, don't go. I told her that her seizures were unlike any I had ever seen. That generally people don't take directions and aren't conscious enough to talk!! As soon as her Dr. told her they would keep her and let her deliver that baby, she was all better!! I really can't stand it when people lie cheat and fake illnesses to get their way!!!!
OK rant over.
Leigh I hope you stay controlled. DH has diabetes and sometimes when his sugars bottom out he has a seizure. It is the scariest thing to be on this end. There is nothing to do but call 911 and wait, keep the airway open and make sure he doesn't hurt himself. He's been seen at NW this year and they put him on Keppra for a year to see if that won't happen when his sugars are low or if he does have an actual seizure disorder. They just aren't sure.
Rosemarie, sorry to hear your DD is in need of stronger RX for her glasses.
Hope they will not continue to get worse for her.
Bunchkin-get well over there.:grouphug: After what seemed a very long January/February start, this house if free of bugs!!!:woohoo:
Disneynut-feel better soon.
Well, Hello to everyone else. I need to go put together folders for PTO meeting tonight.
Stay warm. Let's all get together and wish really hard for some :sunny: and warm weather. Maybe if we all do, we'll get lucky.
