anyway, just a quick hi while my 'puter is backing up..

I don't think I'll do a trip report but we were on teen time, slept late and closed the parks at 1am or 2 am or 3 am..It really is cooler ( weather wise) in the evenings and after the people left we got a lot done but only certain things are open late at night so we still had to do some day time too.

But the main event was FOOD... first time on the DDP and the way 2008 looks it may be the last..

we ate and ate and ate some more..

we ate at Wolfgang Puck Express ( CS) twice, Wolfgang Puck Cafe (TS) once, Concourse Steakhouse, Mexico ( ts) and (CS), Crystal Palace breakfast, Le Cellier, Coral Reef, Kona Cafe, Boma and Ohana. Plus CS in AK - flame tree and tusker house, the Land several times, American at Epcot for the burger boys, Goods to Go at OKW twice, Beaches and Cream and Ghiradelli for sundaes.. and had lots of Dole Pineapple floats. I determined that a Dole Float was a healthy breakfast after all it was pineapple juice;) . We stopped at the broadwalk bakery for a lovely fruit platter and the best cream cheese brownies, and lots of cinanin rolls and turnovers from the main street bakery to take back to the room for breakfast or late night snack. And I am prob missing a few places we ate too.. but we ate a LOT...

Done backing up.. back to work, I'll stop by later

Hey guys,
That shirt used to be my favorite. Now its a tent!

Sandy- Seeing myself on TV is pretty strange and seeing me at that weight again is even stranger.

As for Shane. You'll be happy to know that his feet are fine and he has continued his wieght loss. He's a good man and a good friend.

Thanks for tuning in and I hope you continue to watch because I think you'll be shocked at we lost along the march.

Morning everyone! More flooding in Rockford last night! 6inches of rain in some areas. We're fine, the flooding happened about 8 minutes from here. More people were displaced from their homes :sad2: Hope that everyone is doing well today!! I'm trying to figure out how to return my library stuff that is due today, but the library is in the flood zone, even though they are open! :scared: I don't want to risk driving, cause you never know, so i think i will just eat the fines, if they are going to fine us.

The kids did great with the horrible storm, didn't even flinch!! I, on the otherhand was snuggled up close to Sal and squeezing my eyes real tight!!!

Alright, gotta run!! I listed 3 bracelets last night and as soon as they were uploaded they SOLD! it was pretty cool!! So I have to work on that at nap time too, gotta get more!!

Happy Tuesday!

good tuesday morning chicagoland homies !! :goodvibes

Hello everyone...

I live around Madison, WI at the moment, but lived in Long Grove for awhile, and all our relatives are around Deerfield and Mundelein, so we're down around that area almost every weekend. :goodvibes

:welcome: :welcome: glad you joined us.
not all that post here live in chi town.
i am by the illinois wisconsin border.

anyway, just a quick hi while my 'puter is backing up..

I don't think I'll do a trip report but we were on teen time, slept late and closed the parks at 1am or 2 am or 3 am..

i love that phrase, teen time.....

Morning all.
Hersey, we got a lot of wind here on Sun. night and rain and just a lot of a lightening show last night with a little rain. Not too bad. DS was, of course, losing his mind once again and looking out the window and following me from room to room while I put away laundry. At least the storm quit by bedtime so he would go to bed.

DMM, if your library is like mine, it's only .10 cents a book. Not worth risking flooding your vehicle for.;) AV materials cost more. Hope you stay dry at your house.

Mac, are you staying dry up by you? I am sure it is warm. Already a good 90 degrees here. I was out checking the pool, and I think the algea is gone enough for the kids to get in. Still a little cloudy. I'll try vacuuming it this morning and see what happens.

SplshMtnLvr, :welcome: to our very Happy Thread!! Come visit often. We love to get to know new people, share our Dis knowledge, and just chat.

Time to remove the old ticker. It is just a reminder that vacation is over.
On a good note, one more week and I get to go visit the orthopod. and perhaps lose this very obnoxious boot!!! :woohoo:

Well, better get a move on. Thinking about shopping today. Need to check out a Disney Store for backpacks for DD. She wants a sling type backpack with Hannah Montana or High School Musical. Not treasuring the thought with the crutches, but if I wait much longer, school will be starting and the backpacks will be sold out (if they aren't already).

Morning everyone!
Bigben- Wish I could watch your show! I looked it up on abc.com, but we don't have cable! As much as I tried, I could not arrange the bunny ears! I even tried foil, and while it really classed up the place, no luck...Anyway, it looks great and is probably very inspirational.
Tiggern- We got an HSM with free lunchbox a few weeks ago at Toys r Us. Dd wanted the messenger style, but the school specified backpack.
geffric- Welcome back from the Disney eating plan! I love Wolfgagng Puck Exp! BBQ chicken quesadilla! Yum!
dmm- Enjoy Autumn at 2. My dd was still pretty sweet then. She has a major 'tude and flair for the dramatic now!
Slo- Love the autograph pillow case idea. It would fold up nice and small. Also, it seems like it would be pretty easy for the characters to sign, since new ones are usually stiff!
Enjoying another peaceful day here! The kids were supposed to come back for their Gma's last night, but she decided to bring them tonight instead. No complaints here!
Still waiting to hear about that job. She told me I had it, if I wanted it, and would call me about fingerprinting. I have not heard from her yet. I am in no rush, though. It would be easier to start once the kids are back in school anyway.
Stay cool! Looks like it is just getting hotter, though!

it's about 80 here now and humid.

we did get heavy rain for 2 nights but no flooding in our town.
most of the storms that caused damage missed us and got west of our city.

i talked to my parents yesterday, 102 degrees downstate..
brings back memories, hot and humid

/
HOT HOT HOT outside today and with the water it's just yucky and humid! Blahhhhh... :faint: I've got the air crankin'! Sal will be home in 10 gotta go again!!! It's chicken tacos & guacamole for lunch!

On Monday August 6, 2007 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM on the Travel Channel is

John Ratzenberger' s Made in America - Budweiser
Join us as we catch a pop fly at Nocona Sporting Goods in Nocona,
Texas, down a can of red and white at the Anheuser Busch brewery in
St. Louis, Missouri, and then head off to Tomorrowland to see why the
world of Disney is a small world after all. (TVKirby note - The
segment of the show is the last 5 minutes or so. It is really just a
short history of Animatronics. Lots of footage we've seen before
<Wathel Rogers in the Carousel of Progress programming harness, etc.>.
Segments are shown from all the parks and going back 50 years.
Expedition Everest's Yeti is shown, but commentary says it opened in
2005 instead of the correct year of 2006. Lucky the Dinosaur is also
shown. Worth recording for the completist. Interesting, but not
essential viewing.)

On Saturday August 11, 2007 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Ovation is

The Hand Behind the Mouse: The Ub Iwerks Story (1999)
Though Walt Disney is often solely credited as a great pioneer of
animation, he would not have his iconic Mickey Mouse character if it
were not for the late Ub Iwerks. This documentary about the talented
animator who made the early Disney shorts starring Mickey Mouse,
assembles rare footage and interviews with animators who worked with
Iwerks, all with funding from the very studio he helped start,
bitterly left and rejoined years later.

This show will repeat
Saturday August 11, 2007 from 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM

---

On Sunday August 12, 2007 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM on ABC Family Channel is

Sabrina, the Teenage Witch - DisneyWorld
While visiting a theme park (TVKirby note - Disney's Animal
Kingdom), Sabrina makes a potion that'll transform her into an animal,
but Valerie takes the brew for herself and Libby. Valerie: Lindsay
Sloane. Libby: Jenna Leigh Green. Sabrina: Melissa Joan Hart.

Thanks for the info., especially on Ub Iwerks. :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

The humidity and dewpoint are just about killing me here. I have been having breathing problems before this stuff, and it is much worse now. Not looking forward to going to work tonight.

Those were some storms Sunday night. We were driving home on I-80 and watched all the lightning, kinda nerve-wracking for me.

bigben I just noticed that you are in Elwood. I have former neighbors who live there now.

Hey peeps!!!

Staying inside today.....well, I might need to head to the grocery store later.

Took Lauren to her annual pulmonologist doctor visit and he agrees that she either is starting to grow out of having asthma or our old house was playing some part in her having asthma attacks. Our old house was NOT old though, we bought it new in 1999, so I'm not sure what could have been a cause of her problems. Plus we switched schools when we moved so maybe that place was an irritant too. :confused3 Basically, she has had one small attack since we moved here. And that's great!

slo I really like the cruise ship t-shirt idea for characters to sign!! And framing it would be such a neat thing to do!! Make sure you have something to stick inside the shirt ( like a piece of cardboard) so the ink/marker you use doesn't get to the other side of the shirt.
Glad to hear that Katie is feeling a bit better.
No tornado warnings here, or at least I didn't hear any sirens going off.
We did get hit hard last night. The wind pressure was just shaking our house like crazy and any doors that were closed were creaking and moving too.

bigben DD and I watched your show! We missed the first 20 minutes of it but we really enjoyed it. And it sounds like, based on your comments, that you've done a fine job! Glad to hear that Shane is well too. And happy you made friends during the experience! :goodvibes

paint Hope all goes well with the new job! I'm sure they'll call soon to tell you to come in.

DMM Glad you are on higher ground and weren't affected by all the rain in your area. Don't venture out if you don't really need to!! ::yes::

Tiggerrn Good luck shopping today and don't over do it! ;)

geffric Sounds like you guys found more than burgers to eat!!! :rotfl: Or at least I'm hoping your DH did!! ;) :teeth:
Sounds like you had some late hours though!!! That would have wiped me out!! :faint: Welcome back! :)

SplshMtn :welcome: to the Chicago thread!!

Well, it's time for lunch here and the natives are restless!

Have a great day everyone! :car:

piglet, what part of illinois are you in?

the humidity does not bother me but it does the family here.
makes me remember the temps back home.
going to hit 108 at my parents area today.
they have air so they are all set.
they turned it on end of march and will leave it on thru parts of october.

Bunchkin - I will definitely take lots of pictures on the cruise :) I'm starting to get very excited, and I know it will be here before we know it :cool1:
**What's Lauren and Hunter going to dress up as for the MNSHHP? I just received my first catalog with Halloween costumes in it, and my girls are excited about what to be for Halloween. There's an Elizabeth Swann costume in Lillian Vernon that Stephanie wants - I think I will get it, and she can wear it for the Pirate party on the cruise too pirate:

I forgot to answer your question! :)

I got that catalog too. And the kids have already scoured over it.
BUT.....we already bought costumes at Party City last month!!!! Yeah, you read that right LAST MONTH!!!! :rotfl: They were on sale!

Lauren picked out a jazzy witch costume.

And Hunter picked out a Mater costume.
106947.jpg

I think Lauren may or may not bring it with her for MNSSHP. :confused3 She still has a few Disney costumes here that may fit her that she may want to wear just because we are at WDW. Or she may even opt to buy a MNSSHP shirt and wear just that.....in fact she spoke of bringing the won she bought last year. We will be at MK all day that day. So she may wear her MNSSHP shirt during the day and just change into the costume later.

Hunter on the other hand is total guess work!!!! He also has a MNSSHP shirt and probably will want to wear that. I'm going to bring the Mater costume just in case. He's the type that for Halloween will wear his costume for a short while to trick or treat and then as soon as you are home off the costume has to come.

I liked the Elizabeth Swan costume too. I pointed it out to Lauren. :teeth:
That would make an excellent costume for Stephanie for the cruise!!!! pirate:

I hope this is not against board policy.

I have 3 tickets for HSM on Saturday (Aug.11th) that I need to sell. Is anyone on here interested? The show is at the LaSalle Theater downtown at 2pm. The seats are center orchestra Row V. I can ship overnight if needed or if you are close to my parents (O'hare area), I can meet you somewhere. We will be in town but cannot go due to a change of schedule.

Please e-mail me at craigwoz@tx.rr.com if you are interested.

I am really just looking to get what I paid back for them. The total was $267 and some change. I will settle for $267 plus shipping if I need to ship it overnight.

bigben I just noticed that you are in Elwood. I have former neighbors who live there now.

Bigben Also, the newspaper the other day said you work at Argonne. Which division do you work in? I spent 8 years at the lab at the APS.

Hi Everyone,
Glad you are all hanging in there in the heat. I love it!! Pixie dust to those of you who got more rain then you wanted but I love it when it's hot!! Probably cause it reminds me of Florida:love: .

BigBen...I TIVOed your show! Can't wait to watch you. For some reason I thought your name was Ben!:rotfl2: I am a reality TV junkie so you get big props from me for actually being on reality TV show!!! Can't wait to see how much mula you win!

Rose..nice pix. I love pix!

Gerrific .....I am glad you had a good time!! Thanks for your food list. Good for you! You didn't really gain 20lbs though did you? All that running around has to help, right! Do you think you will do DDP again?
Bunchkin...congrats on having costumes already! I am looking. I can't find anything I like enough yet. I actually would live an elaborate Winter/Christmas Bell costume for DD and the pickings are slim for DS 2T. It's like there's no in between (kids and infants).
Did you see my post regarding PBTeen? Have you made any purchases from there yet? I am still thinking about it.:headache:

Back to Wisconsin for us later this week. I think we have been there this summer more than any other summer yet. It really is so great there. I am very lucky!

Macraven..I always wave to you when I pass your house on my way up north!

DMM Be so careful with this heat!!!!!!

Hey Janice...I am STILL loaded with clutter! It only gets worse too! I am about to call a clutter consultant any day now!
I could have used a good garage sale but no one had one that I knew of! Oh well! Maybe when DD is in school I can make some progress! Her school will be coming for a home visit before school starts though! I better start refilling the closets!

Hi to everyone else!!

Bigben Also, the newspaper the other day said you work at Argonne. Which division do you work in? I spent 8 years at the lab at the APS.

Hey...that's cool! I used to work at Fermilab (and no, not in the hi-rise & no I'm not a physicist -- the 2 most common questions that came out of people's mouths the minute I told them where I worked!).
