Good Morning

Doorway to Dreams party was ok.

I first went to the second floor to take of tour of the new rooms. I was really excited. Reminded me of why I bought in the first place. CM's were passing out mouse ears and pins. We got a light up pin, 2 pins for my ds landyard and buttons.

Next down to centercourt. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale was there. The wait was around 2 hours. Since I am going to see them in a week, I decided to skip the characters and head to the Disney Store.

Since we are driving I bought $20 in $1 Disney Dollars. Each child will get $10 but everytime they argue or fight I get to keep one dollar. Hopefully it will help keep the ride peaceful.

Next it was around 1PM so I decided to catch the DVC presentation. Since I was already a member they didn't really want me there. So I left and DD and I headed to the Rainforest Cafe for lunch.

After lunch we headed back to center court. Donald Duck, Daisy, Lilo, Stitch, Jojo and Golath (sp) were there. The line was much shorter then before so we decided to wait. After about an hour we were up to where Radio Disney was. The prize patrol was handing out prizes. They gave one to the kid ahead of us and behind and skipped right over DD. She was so upset, she started crying. This all happen just as we were about to see Donald Duck. DD completely shut down and would not go near any of the characters. I was so mad. She usually runs up to the characters and now she wouldn't go near them.

She did manage to get a High School Musical 2 Poster and was very excited about that. If she could have gotten it 10 mins sooner.....

Overall the mall was packed. Mouse ears everywhere. I don't think I would have gone if I could do over since what we really wanted to see I will be seeing next week. If you have not seen DVC before I would recommend seeing the rooms. They are very nice.

Our puppy is named Cotton Candy. She will be staying at my dad's house next week.

I have to start packing today. Since I have a full week next week.
I will check in later. Bye

Just wanted to wish everyone a very early good Sunday morning for my 1,000th post! Woohoo! Many hours well spent!

LOL!! I was thinking the same thing Hersey was... Your post count looks to be around 960 or so. I've got that same problem though. Everytime I've ever hit 1,000 posts, Alex compresses the database or upgrades the boards and I lose half of them. I think it's a plot! ;)

The prize patrol was handing out prizes. They gave one to the kid ahead of us and behind and skipped right over DD.

What the heck?!? Why did they skip over her?

Michelle ~ I would have been livid if they passed over one of my kids like that. Was there any good excuse for what they did????

Slo ~ I hope that Katie is feeling better.

Hi all-
I'm feeling much better today, Thanks Slo!

Slo- hope Miss Katie is feeling better today :wizard:

Disneynut71- Sorry to hear about the character lines and your DD didn't get a prize :sad2: Glad all went well visiting the DVC store tho :thumbsup2
Did you take any pics?
I am SO glad we didn't go yest. Sounded like a madhouse like I thought it would be. Maybe I'll try to go to the DVC store maybe during the week.

Hi to Mac, Hersey, Crissup, piglet too, paint, and everyone else :wave2:

Good Sunday morning everyone!!

I am suffering from a severe sinus headache today. :(
I think it's from being out in all the rain and humidity yesterday during the block party. We didn't get to bed till after 1am or so.

Basically in a nut shell the people who caused problems and had attitudes stuck to themselves. At one point one of their family members was using an extra t-shirt of Hunters (that I had brought over because the kids were in swimsuits playing in water) to wipe off a wet chair. When I asked for the shirt this person got really rude with me and loud!! It was totally unbelievable and uncalled for!!! Other than that the day/night went well. Lots of fun and games. And later we had a fire. Lots of fun conversation too. :)
And Lauren and I actually each won a raffle prize. I won Tastefully Simple products and a tray with dip servers. And Lauren won Avon products!!! :rotfl: She did actually want them though, and put her raffles tickets in for them. It was a great smelling lotion and body spray and a necklace. So she's happy!!! :)
I had made and donated a back to school raffle. And the person who won it for his little daughter was really thrilled with it. So that was nice!! :goodvibes

slo I hope Katie is feeling better soon!!

Disneynut Sorry to hear that you daughter was skipped! I hate when that happens. I've learned sometimes I have to speak up and ask when things like that happen. That's good she at least got a poster. :)

piglet Glad you and your son had a good time at GA.

paint I would have gotten out of there really quick too! I hope you are able to talk to the manager on Monday.

Hope everyone has a great day. We are hoping to go see Harry Potter later today but I'm not sure if we'll make it. I told Tony we wouldn't go see it without him, but he has to work today. So I guess we are in a holding pattern....as usual.

Morning all.
Rose, glad you are feeling better today.

Slo, sending some pixiedust: to Katie. Hope she feels better. Watch her throat. Seems strep is going around again. :thumbsup2 for your sales this week.

Disneynut, how sad your DD was passed over. What was the prize the other kids were being given? Were the mouseears the dreams ones or just plain ones? We got dreams ears at WDW last fall at the Jungle Cruise. I was really hoping for a lanyard and the pins this summer, but didn't see anyone giving anything away. I was debating going to the mall myself, but with the crutches didn't seem smart. Now I know it wouldn't have been a good idea. Good luck with the puppy. Ours is now 6 months old, and still as crazy as ever. Still an accident on occasion if he isn't supervised well.:sad2: And he will put anything and everything in his mouth.

Paint, I sure hope the childcare center does something about that woman. There is just no excuse for foul language where little kids are. Even at our ballgames, I am sometimes reminding 20and30somethings that there are little ears around and they need to be more careful. Our games are played near a very nice kids park. But in a daycare center, it is not appropriate at all.

Hersey, my floors need doing, too. I'll be home all day.:rolleyes1

bigben, I'll be checking out your show tomorrow. Thanks for the reminder.

Mac, thanks for having our backs. And for last weeks listings. It was a good week for Dis shows. Not so hard withdrawing from my return from vacation. Still wish I was going back soon. Would love to be joining you this fall.

Well, better run. Toads tank needs cleaning and the forever:laundy: needs doing. Have a great rest of your weekend all. Anyone going to the zoo today? I thought I'd like to go til I woke up to the rain.:sad2:

I don't blame them the other two where much taller and she had to run through quickly. She didn't look down and see her.

There were so many people there and I think they were just trying to get all that they could.

I didn't get any pictures it was just so crazy I would have ended up with pictures of lots of people.

Morning all.

Disneynut, how sad your DD was passed over. What was the prize the other kids were being given? Were the mouseears the dreams ones or just plain ones?

They are basic black ears with the doorway to dreams sticker on them.

Bunchkin, glad your party turned out OK. for the raffle baskets. Hope your sinus aches go away. Just love this weather, don't you?

lol I thought I would check on Ebay for Doorway to dreams stuff. There are already pins and the book (that is given free when you meet with a guide) on there. No bids from what I can see but I can't believe it would be there already.

WTH? I swear I was almost there! I know it was almost 3 a.m. and all, but I puposely posted on a few threads to hit 1,000. I think I may be going insane...
Bunchkin- How rude of your neighbors! My parents neighborhood is having a block party, organized by a single guy! They have never had one in the 17 years they haved lived there. Should be fun. They are taking the kids for the weekend.
Haven't seen HP yet? I finally saw it last week. It was great!
Slo- Hope Katie feels better! We have had (knock on wood) a healthy summer!
Banana pie came out great! It tasted like really moist banana bread. I topped it with the creamy caramel sauce from Tastefully Simple. That stuff is heavenly!
Disneynut- Glad dd got a HSM poster. My dd bought the cd single from Target and loved the poster in there. She wants to frame it! Oh Slo...haha!

Well, kids are at their Gma's, so I slept until 11 and then ate some choc chip pancakes! Really rough morning, huh?

:rotfl: Good AFTERNOON Paint. Must be nice to get to sleep in. If the kids don't wake us here, the puppy does.:rotfl2:
I need to take my pix in for developing today. Took over 250. Need to narrow down. Album I bought only holds 200.
Well, better run. Housework won't do itself.

slo - Heather's doing great. She had no problems with the heat so-far.

I hope everyone enjoys the show.

Went to Woodfield early this afternoon on a whim. Went to Doorway to Dreams, the Disney store, Lego store, Cubs Clubhouse, and JC Penney's.
Didn't buy anything, but have 3 pics I wanted to share with all of you :)

This is at Doorway to Dreams- there was a Goofy statue there, so I had the kids pose by Goofy.
IMG_0367.jpg

They gave us 3 Mickey ears at the store- here's what they look like.
IMG_0368.jpg

They also gave away pins. The pin on the left lights up when you turn the knob in back of it a certain way.
IMG_0371.jpg

It was nice to finally go there and get Mickey ears, as we don't own any ears :thumbsup2 I didn't get a chance to check out the rooms for the villas there, as it seemed they only did tours for people that are really serious in buying DVC.

Have a good day everyone :)

We booked our excursions last night for our cruise :cool1:

Kevin is scuba diving in Cozumel and Grand Cayman
Me and the girls are swimming with dolphins in Cozumel, and then we are taking a glass bottom boat in Grand Cayman.
We are all going to the pirate museum in Key West, and then I would like to take the girls to a butterfly place in Key West also.
We are doing nothing at Castaway Cay, because there's nothing really appropriate for Katie's age. So we'll just sit on the beach and play in the ocean :goodvibes

I'm starting to get really excited about this cruise:banana: , and I'm so glad I didn't cancel it.
We really need this vacation!!!! :cool1:

Mac - Thanks for having our backs yesterday. I wanted to go to church yesterday, because we skipped the other weekend, but with Katie not well, we didn't go:guilty:

Disneynut - I'm sorry your DD had such hurt feelings when she was passed up:sad1: . My girls would have reacted the same way ::yes::
**Cotton Candy is a very cute name for a puppy :dog:

Crissup - :wave2:

piglet too - Katie is a little better, but not 100%. Thanks for asking :)

Rose - Thanks for the PD, she is doing a little better :)
**Thanks for posting the pictures :)

Bunchkin - Thanks for the hug for Katie :)
**How are you feeling today? I hope your headache has gone away:wizard: . I had one of those Thursday - Saturday last week.
**Were you able to go see Harry Potter yesterday?
**I'm glad the block party didn't turn out to be a nightmare. I can't believe that lady wiped a chair with Hunter's shirt - HOW RUDE!!!!

Tigggerrnnnnn - Thanks for the PD for little Kate :) I have been watching her throat, and asking her how it feels. I'm more worried about hand, foot, and mouth because that disease surfaces alot this time of year (I hate that virus!!)
**How's Kellie doing? Is she all better? I hope so :wizard:

paint - Thanks for the well wishes for Katie :)
**I"m glad your pie turned out well - you're inspiring me to want to bake something:rolleyes:

Morning everyone!! Hope you all had a great weekend!!

Rosemarie, love the pics! Sounds like you had a good time!

We went to the Wi. State Fair yesterday and had a blast! It was too humid, but still ALOT of fun!!

Sandy, those Excursions sound like a GREAT time!! you will have soo much fun!!!

DMM - How's Autumn during the "terrible 2's"? I actually loved the age of 2 with both of my girls - they were so much fun!!!!!

Def. not terrible at all! she's a good girl, that loves to read and color :) She is also very quiet, unless she really wants something. I'm loving it all so far!! Now my little guy is a totally different story ;)

BUNCHY, hope your headache is better today!!
Sandy, hope Kevin was able to see the race!

Since we are driving I bought $20 in $1 Disney Dollars. Each child will get $10 but everytime they argue or fight I get to keep one dollar. Hopefully it will help keep the ride peaceful.

This is EXACTLY what my pediatrician said to do on the drive down, when the kids are older and can understand :) He has 4 of his own (all grown now) and they used to do this every drive to WDW!

Have a good one everyone

Hey Everyone!

Megan and I headed out to Woodfield on Saturday for the opening of Doorway to Dreams. It was a nice time and we got to hang out with Hersey & Alex. We toured the rooms and they were very nice!! Wow nice! Then we got in line to see the characters, but it became apparent really quick that this line was going NO WHERE fast. I felt bad for Megan, but she seemed okay with it....at first.

We went to the full DVD presentation which was informational and of course, they were selling Saratoga Springs and AKV, which for a while had me thinking it sounded pretty good, but I really want my home resort to be the Contemporary. I figure that gives me some time to save up for a good downpayment and Dan reminded me of all the home improvement projects to be done around the house before we start thinking about buying something like DVC. So, I must be responsible, but the good thing was that he wasn't totally opposed mainly because of the list of other places you could go and stay at with DVC.

Also, I was happy to hear that you could will DVC to your children and if your kids procreate really quickly ;) you could even give it to your grandkids. With AKV, you will get the full 50 year package, but with Saratoga, you get 47 years because that has been open three years already. So, that seemed okay to me. Heck, I won't be here in 50 years, what do I care!

When we were done with the presentation and the Q&A session with the rep, Megan and I walked back to see if the line had shortened. It was shorter, but it would take at least 1 1/2 hours. I said, okay forget it and then Megan got upset and started to cry. I told her she could see all the characters she wanted on the ship and it would be so much easier! She was only slightly soothed by that. We stayed to watch one of the Doorway shows, which was cute and Megan got to wave at Stitch and Lilo, JoJo & Goliath and Donald & Daisy. It had been a long day and for the most part, she was really good about all the DVC stuff. I wished she could have seen the characters, but it was just too much!! I knew we should have gotten there super early, but I was lazy Saturday morning and we didn't get there til about 11:00 a.m. Once 355 is complete, that drive to Woodfield will be a breeze!!

I'm thinking I need to find Megan a special autograph book or something for signatures on the cruise. Her regular park book is almost full. So, if anyone knows where I can find a fancy one, let me know!! The rest of the weekend was spent painting, then repainting our bedroom and hallway up to the second floor. First, I color matched a towel in my bathroom for the walls, but it turned out to be a dark color and we decided to do just one wall in order to not close in the room, but give it some flair. Well, the color I chose to match the dark wall was completely wrong! Just the wrong shade family and instead of Dan saying so right off, he just kept painting. I was busy with laundry and other stuff, so, he was halfway down the hall before I saw it. It was ghastly! Hospital green! I said stop, that's horrible. He said, I thought so too, but you picked it out and I thought you liked it. I said, I do like it, just not on our walls! It made our blonde woodwork look yellowey and sort of icky and it totally did not match the dark wall. So, Sunday we went back to Lowes, got some "audition" cans of paint, came home picked one and then repainted. It was a lot of work for one day, but we managed to get the room almost back to normal before bed time! What else was there to do in that weather anyway right?

So, that was my speedy weekend!

Bunchkin, sorry about those rude neighbors! Slo, hope Katie is feeling better! DMM, MORE WATER!! Just kidding! I know you're probably floating as it is! Tiggern, I think a DL trip will be in order next fall! I would love to do Halloween Time out there. Maybe by then, I'll be DVC and I'll be able to use points rather than cash!

Yeehaw!!
