Hi all!!

The parade was a success today :thumbsup2
We handed out lots of coupons, and some people said they already had one from last night (which was great that they saw us twice :thumbsup2 )
Now we are resting until we leave for the fireworks at around 8pm.

Thanks to everyone for your nice compliments about the newspaper article:goodvibes Remember how I said earlier how I hoped some people would read the article and recognize us in the parade? Well, some people did - how cool!!!!!

HERSEY - Did you buy alot of stuff at IKEA? That place has an amazing way of making people spend money:)

Crissup - :wave2:

Becky - How was your parade today? I hope your DD had fun!!

Rose - Before you know it, Matthew will be taller than you. These kids grow up to fast:rolleyes:

Sam - Welcome home!!!!! :) I'm sorry your vacation was not a great vacation :guilty: (if it makes you feel any better, I don't think I would have liked it either:sad2: ) Enjoy sleeping in your own bed tonight!!!

Well, that's it from me tonight
The girls dinner is done, so I need to get them fed before we go
Have a great night tonight

Later gaters!!!!

The fireworks last night were very nice!!!! :)

Now today starts another work week
I'm curious if any parade coupons come in.

Have a great day today everyone!!!

Good Morning all!!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!!

I took the kids to the library on Sat. in the rain, they are participating in the summer reading program there. I am always amazed at the books Lauren picks out. Books about U.S states and government, historical figures and lately she has been reading this series of books that are about old "horror" movies that have pictures from the movies in them. Like the old Werewolf, Dracula movies made in the 30's and 40's.

This weekend we also got the kids into watching the Indian Jones movies. They had never seen them before and we have them on video. I keep telling myself I need to replace all these old videos of ours with DVDs!!
Needless to say they loved them!! And now understand the Indiana Stunt Show at MGM better!! :rotfl:

slo Glad the parades worked out well!! Congrats on the article in the paper!! :thumbsup2
I'll see you soon with my picture of Lauren!!

SamIAm Sorry your vacation didn't turn out like you wanted/expected it to. :( Some times these "resorts", no matter where they are, exaggerate on all the extras they have!! :sad2:
How about the hill climb out of Silver Dollar City??? Not fun while pushing a stroller!! I felt like I should have been yodeling when we where there!!! :rotfl:

Hersey Which IKEA did you go to??
Last weekend for Father's Day I had to totally resist turning the van into the parking lot of the one in Bolingbrook!!! I had to remember it was "FATHER'S DAY" and that we were going across the street to Bass Pro Shop!!!!
I'm hoping to get back there this weekend though!!! :yay:

Gonna be a hot one out there today!!!! :beach:
Stay cool everyone!! :hippie:

I did see that hill Bunchkin, but there were no attractions up that way I wanted to see, so I backtracked. HA! Actually I was in that Christmas store the second day we went (we had a 1/2 day the first and were allowed to go back a second day for free) and I saw the hill, but then turned around and made my way back through the Mid-Town Village area and popped out near the gas blower guy and then exited the park that way!

Whew! I did like SDC while I was there. It's not Disney, but it was very well themed and I like how they never strayed off that theme. The park in general is very clean and very well done. The "citizens" are really helpful too. (Citizens = castmembers). They were very nice, helpful and super friendly, which is always a positive in strange surroundings!

Hi, all...hope everyone had a nice weekend. :)

Sandy...I'm hoping your business is going to pick up quickly now that you've passed out coupons and had that *great* article printed.

Rose...did you have a nice trip? Looks like the kids enjoyed themselves!

SamIAm...We went to Branson a few years ago. We went to a circus type performance there & then the Soji whatever-his-name is guy. The Soji was actually pretty good. Everybody told me we had to go in the bathroom at the show, so I went into the women's room, and it was very well decorated (at least for a potty!:rotfl2: ) As far as the town itself, I felt like I was in the Wisconsin Dells...very, very touristy. We did spend some time at Table Rock Lake (I think that's the name of it?) and that was nice. I'm sorry that your trip wasn't everything you hoped it would be.

Bunchkin...I am impressed by what your daughter picks out to read! That's great that she has an interest in that type of thing! Sounds very smart...must take after her mommy!!!:thumbsup2

Hersey...did you go to the IKEA up in Hoffman Estates? All that modular furniture & design is so modern!!!

Becky...how was the parade?

Shout out to all...have a GREAT evening!!!:goodvibes

Howdy!!! :wave2:

So the kids and I went to slo's new store today!! :goodvibes
What a great store she has!!! :cool1: Everything is set up so nice!! Top Notch!! :teeth:
I can't wait to see Lauren's baby picture when it's done!!! :goodvibes

Another good thing going out by slo was the gas prices!!!! :rotfl:
$2.97!!! :dance3:
By me gas is $3.35!!

At least you enjoyed yourself there! The theming is cute, a little hokey, but cute! :goodvibes

She is one smart cookie! All A's for her, she gets mad even if she gets a B!! Not too sure if she takes after me though. :rotfl:

Hi all quick fly-by. We went to the Ikea in Schaumburg I could get lost in there if it wasn't for someone saying "are we done yet" every 10 minutes. ;)

I bought myself my first set of grown up dishes. Not the kind you get from Jewel after you spend so much $$.:rotfl:

Sam Glad you got to go away hopefully to relax.

Bunch I picked up the new Bon Jovi cd I going to go listen to it while I cover my grays. Music to cover your grays with :rotfl:

Slo Congrat on your first ''across the border" customer :dance3:

Hi Everyone,
How was everyone's weekends and Monday??? I always so much catching up to do when I am away fro a couple days. I don't know if I have mentioned this before but I go to Wisconsin for the weekends most of the summer weekends. That's where I have been. It is only an hour and a half drive and it's on a lake. My DD lives for that place (along with WDW of course). Today I was outside all day after DDs swimming lessons since it was close to 90 degrees out . The next two days I am going into the city. We are going downtown again. I feel like I live in a great town and that I should utilize all it has to offer and we do! Tomorrow we are going to the top of the John Hancock

Slo...
glad you are feeling better and hope business picks up.
Nice pix Rose.
Bunchkin...gas by me is even higher then that:mad: !!!!!!

SamIam...you reminded me of myself when you talked about your trip. Probably because I know I would have had the same reaction.

Hey I was thinking about Nightowl71 and 2sweetangels..........are they still around??

Hi to everyone else out there!

Well I hope no one thinks I'm ungrateful or anything like that as some people never get to take vacations. It just wasn't my idea of a great vacation. My DH on the other hand liked the opportunity to do ALOT of fishing and I'm happy for him on that, especially since he is working over time a lot this week.

I guess in a way, I'm a bit spoiled by nice accomodations, meals, etc. that we all enjoy in Disney. I'm not a Deluxe resort type person and I am perfectly happy at Pop Century as long as I don't have to frequent the food court too often. Too crowded ya know! It was nice to get away, but this time, it was really sort of extra nice to get home.

I also like a vacation that sort of puts me out of my element. I know WDW is hardly exotic, but it lets me be a kid again and just be different than I am at home, more carefree. Las Vegas actually gets me in a similar frame of mind. Not the kid part mind you, but the ability to really be somewhere that's completely different from the norm. And Vegas is definitely different from my norm! :rotfl:

I just don't want people to get the impression that I'm a vacation snob. Branson was really expensive in terms of attractions and not all of them were really worth the cost like Talking Rock Caverns. Those darn rocks don't say a stinkin word!! :lmao: That cost almost $50 for the three of us. It was a stairmaster in disguise. Walk 100 feet down into the cavern and then walk back up. Oh yeah, and watch your step so you don't fall to your death!

A ride on the Ducks was over $50 for the three of us. However, that trip was pretty nice and the driver was really knowledgeable and fun. It wasn't a "canned" speech and you could tell he genuinely liked what he was doing. The tour was also well over an hour long. So, while there was some initial sticker shock, we did enjoy the tour.

So, anyway, there you have it. Some of my vacation highlights. I think next time, I will pony up and stay at the Bass Pro Shop lodge that's out there. At least they have a SPA! just kidding... ha ha ha ha

You don't sound ungrateful or anything to me. You are just venting amongst friends and we all know where you are coming from because we are all pretty WDW bias! IMHO!

It's going to be another steamy day today :sunny:

The alarm went off again last night - can you believe it?!?! :headache:
I told the lady that called our house that the owner needs to call me tomorrow, and not anyone else. I told her that the police dept has said we need to fire them, and now my DH is saying we are going to cancel service. I told her our future with them isn't looking very good:sad2: We are now going to have to owe the town $300:guilty:  :headache: :sad1:

Bunchkin - It was so good to see you and the kids yesterday :goodvibes Thanks again for coming so far to frame Lauren's picture - it means alot to me!!:goodvibes Also, thanks for the nice comments about the store - I really am very proud of it :teeth:

Sam - I don't think you sound ungrateful:sad2: You sound like someone that didn't like where they went on vacation - there's nothing wrong with that:sad2: . You are entitled to not like everywhere you go. Plus, we are all friends here, if you need to get something off your chest, this is the perfect place to come :grouphug:

Donna - Thanks!!! :goodvibes
**Is Christopher home this summer? Is he going back to school for his Masters, or is going to take a break from school?

HERSEY - I had to chuckle about your Jewel dishes, because we have those same type of Jewel silverware :) We got them before we were married and we are still using them 12 years later:thumbsup2
**You know what.........Bunchkin was my first Illinois customer ::yes:: I didn't even think of that until you said something :)

Debbie - Thanks!!! :)
**Enjoy your day in the city today :goodvibes We love going downtown too!!

Well, I better go jump into the shower
Have a good day today everyone!!

Good morning all!!!

We're off to the dentist again today to have that last cavity of Lauren's filled.
I'm sure she is going to ask for the laughing gas again!!! :rotfl:

slo Sorry your alarm went off again!!!! :sad2: I would not be paying that alarm company a single dime!!!
Thanks again for taking care of Lauren's picture!! :goodvibes

SamIAm I don't think your being ungrateful either!!!!
Heck, I for sure didn't think that I would come home complaining about Disneyland. But yet I did!!!
You're allowed to complain!!
Next time go to Fantastic Caverns in Springfield. They're the best in that area! It's the only drive through cavern in the U.S. They take you by tram through the whole thing and they are so knowledgeable too!!

Hersey Be prepared for lots of country in the new cd of BJ's. Lots of slide guitars, fiddle playin', and banjos!!
A lot of people think it's a great 'rock' cd, but it's definitely more country influenced. Which they admit to.
I also hear their ticket prices will be really high this coming tour! :sad2:

Debbie Have fun downtown!!! We love going to the city too!!
I've been thinking of taking the kids to the Hancock, so let me know how you like it!! ;)

Several months ago I found out that my sister in law has a blog on the web.

In this blog of hers she speaks not so nice things about our family.
Shares things she shouldn't. And plays the "oh poor me" card all the time.
She has said rude things about Tony's mom, about Tony himself, and even talked about a conversation she had with Lauren about something that made us really mad!!!! We where there when the conversation happened (while on vacation this past April) and we had to put a halt to it! In short it was about how horses make babies.....which I haven't even had that conversation with her yet about HUMANS!!!!  They have no clue about raising kids because they have none of their own!! Can you imagine having a conversation like that with someone else's child????? :sad2:
Anywho...........

What do you think we should do?
Tony says that he could talk to her but she'll just keep on shooting her mouth off.
I say she has no right to bad mouth people. Free speech doesn't include rude comments towards others. That's slanderous.

She even stated no only to Tony over the phone recently but also on this blog that their mom is over reacting to this cancer scare and that she's acting like "oh, it's all about me" (her words).
Can you believe that??
Mother in law sought out the help of the daughter's husband who is a doctor. And now the daughter is acting like a child who's not getting enough attention.

post on her blog and let all her friends and homies be aware there is another side to the story.

it will serve two things:
she will be aware you have read it.
all that reads the blog will be aware of the the type of person they are dealing with.

Good advice.. that would definitely make her aware that others are listening to her rantings..

I may have missed it being posted, but thought I would share.

Bunchkin ~ I agree with posting a comment on her blog. Sorry that she sounds like such a PITA

Slo ~ I would see what recourse you have in making the alarm company pay the city.

SamIAm ~ I too feel that you were just venting. If your trip was no fun for you, then you have a right to gripe. Who wants to do housework on vacation??

Wow! It's really pouring rain out there! I didn't think it was supposed to rain until tomorrow!:confused3

Slo...I am so sorry to hear about all the trouble with that darn alarm! I hope you can get some satisfaction SOON! Yes, Christopher is home now. He has been getting his resume out to everywhere he possibly can. He will move for the right job..actually, he probably wouldn't mind moving to California!:cool1: (His *mother* might mind, since his *mother* doesn't fly, though!) As far as graduate school, that is also a possibility if he can't find the right job. Brian is doing the grad school thing again this summer...he is working on his master's in music education.

Debbie...hope you have a good visit to the city! When you go up to Wisconsin, where do you go? For day or overnight trips, we like Lake Geneva, but for a few days or more, we like go to up to Door County.

SamIAm..nope, I sure don't think you're being ungrateful. I am glad you feel comfortable sharing your feelings with us here!

Bunchkin...yikes! I feel for you having to deal wth a situation like that one! There are just so many things that are *wrong* with that whole deal. Do you think you could talk to her in person about how you feel about everything? I think I would want to *see* what she said when you confronted her. You could post on the blog, too, if you wanted to.

Hersey...Schaumburg/Hoffman...I don't know, they all seem to blend together to me! It's a pretty big IKEA store there, though. I hope you like your new dishes!:)

EVERYONE...have a great rest of today....:thumbsup2

Donna Ikea might be in both Hoffman and Schaumburg;) I hope Christopher gets his dream job.

Bunchkin I wonder why your in law feels she needs a blog? I would personally talk to her. Not sure what posting on her blog would accomplish. Sorry I wish I had some sage advise.

piglet too I know someone who won tickets to see Bon Jovi a couple of years ago. Hope anyone who tries for the tickets good luck :thumbsup2

Hey there,
We did go to the top of the John Hancock (it's not quite the top) today and DD loved it! It's pricey IMO but they are in the Entertainment book. We then had lunch at Corner Bakery. Nice day!
Rain came but not until later.

Slo…I would be so aggravated over that alarm:mad: !
Bunchkin…you have to find away to put that little brat in her place! Let me think about it. I can have an evil side that no one sees!pirate: Maybe PM us her blog and we can go hassle her! She won’t know who we are!:rotfl2:
Also, my DHs heart went into Afib again last week or so. Now he is thinking about surgery or new medicine. In fact right now he is on nothing and freaking me out! Where are you with all that? Medication? What kind? Have you done any research?

When we go to Wisconsin we go to Mukwonago (Home of the Bear). When my Mom’s parents retired they bought in Mukwonago, WI and when my Dad’s parents retired they bought in Naples, FL. When my Mom’s parents passed away they left the place to my Mom and her sister and when my Dad’s parents passed away they left Naples to my Dad and his brother. So we are very fortunate to be blessed with both places. My parents unfortunately are blessed with all the taxes and bills that go along with the places too though so are always thinking about selling!
