Have a great weekend with magical days ahead!

we are off too hang with the cheese heads again this weekend and it's our Anniversary so we are going out to eat (alone for a change) tonight!

Hope you feel better Slo! It so stinks to be sick!

Happy Anniversary Debbie!!! I hope you and your DH have a great meal out!! How many years??

Debbie Congrats to you and your DH on six yrs of wedded bliss :dance3:

Slo I hope your headache went away. Yesterday I had the nauseous feeling I thought it was just because I was at work ;)

Hope everyone has a good weekend. I am going try to finish my paperwork tonight so I can walk around Swedish days tomarrow in peace. I hope it doesn't rain.

Hey all. Good late evening. Very busy day at work today. We contributed 5 new infants to the world from my hospital today.:rotfl:
Sandy, sure hope you felt better after your dark rest. I always find cold, dark, 2aspirin + 2tylenol taken with some caffeine does the trick. Sorry we didn't make it yesterday. It was 4:45 before we even got out of the office and after 5 by the time I was in the car headed the right way. Trains and traffic lights on Calumet are not funny either.:scared1: Maybe next week.
Debbie, congrats on 6 years of wedded bliss. DH and I just celebrated 15 on the 20th. Add to it the 8 1/2 we were together before and we are working on silver pretty soon!!
Bunchkin, glad you enjoyed the movie. I couldn't remember what this one was about (even with the synopses) and wasn't sure the kids would like it, so we skipped this one. Looking forward to Mimzy, though. Did you go to Orland?
Good news from the MD, kids are both having tonsils out when we return from vacation!!! I sure hope this takes care of their frequent strep infections.
Still no cheap flights home from LA. Giving it til Tues or Wed and then just going to suck it up and purchase the discount price.:sad2: At least it will be on the next credit card statement.:rolleyes1
 to Mac, Hersey, piglettoo, geffic, Becky, Kim, and everyone else. Hope you all have a great weekend.

Boy oh boy, it's going to be a long day
I'm not feeling well at all:sad2:
I woke up with a headache and nautious (sp?), and I was hoping it would go away. I took the girls to school and then came back home to lay down for 45 minutes - I don't think it helped. So now I'm at work sitting in my dark office checking my emails. I'm sure hoping this passes,
Well, that's about it from me for now.
I'm going to sit here in the dark and close my eyes.
Sounds like a migraine to me. Have you had them before? Certainly not unlikely, given your recent stress. :grouphug:

 ALL!!!!!!

After the store closes today, we are going to the first of 3 parades. We have so many coupons to hand out (3 reams of paper, each piece of paper had 3 coupons. So I've been cutting coupons the last couple of days). I'm really praying that I see some of these coupons returned. Tomorrow is parade #2. :thumbsup2

I'm feeling a little better today, but not 100%. I honestly think it is my sinuses acting up, and I think the upset stomach is something I ate. Sitting in my dark office yesterday helped a little bit - it was nice!!! :)

mac & piglett - Thanks!!! :)

Donna - :wave2:

Debbie - Thanks!!! :)
*Happy Anniversary!!!! :goodvibes I hope you have a wonderful time celebrating, and a wonderful quiet dinner together!!! :goodvibes

Bunchkin - Thanks again for calling me yesterday and keeping me company for awhile - it was so nice chatting with you!! :goodvibes

HERSEY - Thanks, it has gone away a little bit:) Once I eat something and take some Excederin, I'm hoping more of it will go away.
*I hope you are feeling better today too :wizard:

Tigggerrrnnnnnnnn - Thanks!! :) I will have to try your headache remedy receipe :teeth:
*That's okay about not coming yesterday, I will always be there during the day. Now that my employee is back, I'm hoping that in a couple of weeks I can start going home at 5 on the days that she's there. You are so right about the traffic and trains on Calumet ::yes:: I used to work in Munster by the Illinois border, and the trains would make me late for work once in awhile - very frustrating!!!!
*That's great about the ENT agreeing to take out the kids tonsils - I bet it will help termendously (at least it did with Steph).

Kim - Thanks for the hugs!! :) I have had many many migraines before, but I don't think it was that. I honestly do think it was a severe sinus headache, or maybe even a tension headache. My mom thinks the stomachache is from the beef I've been eating at home. I made beef in a crockpot w/ peppers for Father's Day, and I've been living on the leftovers. She's thinking my stomachache is from that:confused3 She told me to throw the rest away - I think I will listen and do just that ::yes::

Well, I gotta run and start getting ready for my day today
Have a good day everyone, and lets hope this rain stops :umbrella:
Framers don't come out in the rain, and I don't want the parade to get cancelled.

Later gaters!!!

Rosemarie -- Cute pictures.

Slo -- Have fun in the parades. I hope you see lots & lots of those coupons again. :thumbsup2

Hersey -- Are you going to be at the Swedish day parade Sunday? That's what we were performing in.

Debbi -- Happy Anniversary.

Luckily, our kid's day was not rained out, so DD performed, although it did start raining before the gymnasts came out, not hard enough to stop anything though & it quit. We were a bit concerned.

Then the cheerleaders performed, poor kids, they were nervous beyond belief except my DD since she has done the kid's day performances for so long with gymnastics getting out there with a large crowd (in a different setting than competition) doesn't even phase her. The coach is the one that told me the girls were so nervous (especially since they sat through the dancers, then the gymnasts so they had time to get their nerves getting the better of them). I thought they did good considering they were missing 1/2 the team. They did their competition routines but basically had to improvise since there were only 7 girls there -- There are at least 15 girls on the squad so doing the pom routine was interesting, you could tell they were all trying to figure out what exactly they should be doing since their normal spots/moves were a bit different without the whole squad there. They prevailed though and made it through. The coach now wants them to do more performances in area festivals to give them more exposure to the bigger groups (I'm thinking NOOOOOOO!!!!! I have enough time coordinating between all DD's activities, I don't want any more added! :lmao: ).

Just have to do the parade tomorrow and *whew* another year is done for this. On to the next year's stuff, the rest of the summer stuff should be mellow for these things.

Good afternoon all.
Slo, hope your parade didn't get too rained upon. Good luck getting those coupons back and soon!!!
Target run today. Picked up some vacation items. Always fun to be buying those travel sized items. Makes you feel good to be planning a trip.
Welcome back, Rose. Did your family have a nice trip? The pictures look great.
Doing :laundy: now after a day of grocery/household shopping.
DD is singing her heart out in her room right now.:rotfl2: I think I may have to tell her to sing a little more softly.:rolleyes1 :lmao:
Well, off to do a little work around here and then some vacation research. Need to find out how far of a drive we will have and find a hotel for the area near DH sister's place. Luckily, only for a couple nights. We will stay with friends after we visit with her.

We got so much rain here yesterday - it rained and rained!!! :umbrella:
For awhile, I didn't think the parade would happen. But luckily, the rain stopped for awhile, and the parade did step-off!!!:thumbsup2 We only handed out approx. 1/2 of the coupons we made for that town (due to low turnout), but some coupons are better than no coupons :)

Today is parade#2, and this is our hometown parade. My newspaper story hit the paper today, so I'm hoping that some people read that before the parade, so they'll recognize us from that :)

Here's the story.....

BUSINESS PROFILE: The Perfect Angle in ****

After a reoccurring knee problem made it difficult for her to use the equipment at her old job, Sandy began thinking about realizing the dream her grandmother always had for her and opened her own business, using the 20 years of experience she has building custom frames.

"My husband starting doing research on equipment that would be OK with my knee problems," Sandy said. "We found the right equipment, and I thought about how my grandmother had always pushed for me to start my own store. This business is in memory of her."

The Perfect Angle offers custom picture framing, repairs broken glass, cuts mats and sells art work. The South Shore prints it sells spark many customers' interest.

"The South Shore prints just trigger a memory for so many people," she said.

"People are really into framing their memories now. I do a lot of shadow boxes with the war medals of ancestors, athletic jerseys -- either from a professional player or a high school kid -- and baptism outfits. My customers like preserving and looking at those things"

Since she first started in the business two decades ago, the trend has moved away from the country look, with its blues and mauves.

"People want everything more tailored, more dressy and put together," Sandy said. "The woods are also richer now."

She chose the **** location because of its proximity to home and the ties to the community.

"We've invested in a big inventory so we have a lot of selection," Sandy said. "Since I started in the business so long ago, people have moved toward an understand about custom framing.

"They know that a picture is like a piece of furniture," she said. "It will stay on the wall of a home for a long time, so they are willing to invest money in a beautiful frame."

How was the trip? I hope you all had a wonderful time.

Becky - I"m glad your event wasn't rained out either :)

Tiggerrnnnnnnnnnnnnn - I like buying those travel size items too :) It makes you feel that much closer to leaving on your trip.

Well, I gotta run and get ready for parade #2
Have a good day today everyone!!

Sandy Nice article :thumbsup2 Good luck at the parade today.

Nice Article Slo!! I'm certain the customers will come. Just have to give them a chance to realize you're there and find stuff they need you to do. :)

Slo - Nice article! I hope you have a great turnout at your parade.

I just hope it's not super hot like I've heard predicted for today. I will take Friday's weather. That would be perfect for a parade! Especially with the girls walking but for DD this will be a piece of cake.

Every other year she has been with the gymnasts and they do a routine plus tumbling down the street. I remember last year she looked like she was going to collapse at the end of the parade route she was so hot from having to do the routines the whole way.

DD is looking forward to just walking & cheering as opposed to having to tumble down the street. :thumbsup2 This is the first year the cheerleaders are walking in the parade.

Thanks Tiggerrn, Slo, and Becky, that you enjoyed the pics.
Yes, we had a great time!

Slo- Yes, Matthew is getting really tall. He is up to my chin!
*The article is very nice!

Hey everyone!

Well, I'm back from Branson. It was okay, but honestly, it wasn't exactly my idea of a great vacation. I had to make beds, cook, wash dishes, do laundry... Ummm... Am I on vacation? Everything there is so expensive that it makes Disney seem cheap! Expensive and you still have to do all your normal chores... Bah Humbug.

I'm so glad to be home back in my bed, not the hard rock box they tried to pass off for a bed at our resort. The resort was definitely not what we were hoping for and all the stuff I read about it was highly exaggerated. The "game room" was a 12 by 12 darkened room packed with really old video games. The "toy room" was in a musty room that had contained a handful of old Little Tykes toys. The rooms were like old sheds and they smelled really bad and were really musty.

The cabin was nice, a little 70s, but fine I guess. There was no direct lake view and lake access was a little hike. The docks were horrible and by 8:00 p.m. every night were completely inhabited by web building spiders. The only decent thing was the pool areas, until the little bullfrogs came out and started there croaking each evening?? What's up with this place??

Dan said I was spoiled by Disney and I said, well that may be so, but I know nasty when I see it too! So, needless to say, it wasn't my choice for a great resort/vacation, but Dan was happy to do some fishing.

We went to Silver Dollar City (steal your dollar city is more like it!) It was a nice though and I really liked the theming. Megan enjoyed it too. The weird part is that it is only open til 7:00 p.m. and that sort of cuts your day pretty short. Another thing is, they wouldn't let me bring my little backpack on the rides? I didn't get that at all... It's a very small backpack/purse thing and every time I went to get on a ride, they made me leave it in a cubby. That made me really nervous as I had a lot of money, cellphone, camera in there and anyone could walk up and take it. By like the third time this happened, I told Megan she needed to do some of the rides by herself (the kiddy type rides). I told the lady that there are bigger, more movement type rides at Disney and they never make you leave your belongings in an open area cubby. Apparently, people are more honest in the Ozarks? :rolleyes1

Now, I can look forward to my real vacation in November!

Slo: I really liked your article and you gave me some ideas when it comes to preserving memorabilia and family heirlooms!
