I was trying to explain to my DD about how they would do the National Anthem and then sign off for their broadcasting day really late at night. I would stay up in the summer and watch TV until then on occassion. She just looked at me with that "Mom you are crazy & I don't even comprehend what you are saying" looks.

Of course, we also had TV wtih KNOBS on it & we had a really old black & white one down in the basement where you had to put the one knob on "U" and then I believe it was 32 for WFLD? HEY...You know I just thought of something (OK, I'm slow)...WFLD is always advertising itself as "The U" -- Now I get it. :rotfl2: I never put the connection there until I was typing this out.

Heaven forbid you weren't home to watch your show either...you missed it. No VCR or TiVo or any other contraption to watch it later.

Ahh....I feel so old now. :charac2:

move over, i'm with you homie on this one............

:rotfl: at this whole post! I feel old now, too!

Good morning. I just dropped Allison off for her first day of school. brand new school and a whole lot of new teachers and students. I felt so bad for her. She was so nervous. She looked at the kids and says, mom where do I go? What do I do? I just told her to follow the crowd and not to worry it is only for a couple of hours today. Then I had to reasure her that I'd be back to pick her up soon. I've never seen her like this before. Normally she is very calm and cool.

If she thinks middle school is rough, wait until she gets a load of high school.

Aw, poor thing! Didn't they have an orientation? I'm sorry she felt so lost and nervous. :guilty:

Good Morning!!

Is it supposed to rain?? Or is this just haze I see?? :confused3

I love the Banana Splits!!! They are on occasionally on the Boomerang channel ( you have to have a satelite dish though to see it, it's not on any of the cable companies). My kids love watching them!!!

They are finally doing some work on the park across the street. It was supposed to be done LAST YEAR!!! They are now dumping a ton of dirt there again. Hopefully it will lead to something more!!! :teeth:

slo I hope Katie does well for her pictures. I know what you are talking about, Lauren used to be a real stinker at that age trying to get a good picture out of her without her squinting, squirming and frowning.
Lauren's first day went really good!!! She really enjoys school!! And she spoke to her teacher about the boy calling her a name and the teacher took care of it right away!! :)

macraven My feet are starting to do better, thanks! How are yours doing??? We need our feet to be in perfect condition if we want to take on WDW!! :thumbsup2

Stitchfans I hope Allison has a good 1st day of school!! :thumbsup2

disneymama I liked the Courtship of Eddies Father.....but NOT the song!!!
Thanks for the laugh with the Fruit Salad Video, DS and I just watched it!!
:teeth:

I liked this one too. It's a little different but funny!!
Wiggles

Well, Hunter and I are off to 2 libraries and the grocery store (again!).

Have a great day everyone!! :moped:

Hi all- TGIF!!
DH and I will be out of town over the weekend. My mom will be taking hte kids tomorrow, for overnight til Sunday!! Dh and I need a much needed time away for ourselves :yay: .

ANTSS- :grouphug: still thinking of you and your coworkers.

Stitchfans- Hope Allison will feel more comfortable once the schooldays go on.
Are any of her classmates from her previous school at her middle school? Transitioning is problably a little hard for her now with Jr. high(middle school)
PD for her :wizard:

DMM- Did you ever hear from your mom? a phone call? email?

Becky2005- I totally can relate to the old time tv!! We had the black and white tv with hte knobs and UHF and VHF channels when I was growing up. And don't forget those rabbit ear antennas, and putting tinfoil on a rabbit ear when you couldn't get a clear picture or moving the rabbit ear all around to try to get a clear picture! :lmao: :rotfl2:

As of Davy Jones, he's been on those informercialsevery now and then for selling CDs, like the TimeLife 60's CD collections, etc.

Macraven- i did remember hearing aboutMike Nesbith's mom created white- out.

Slo- hope all goes well with Katies pictures today! Hope the schedulling goes well for Steph's dance and soccer, that somethig works out.

Hersey- to answer your queston, about what to do with a million $$, I would get a bigger townhome or a house and pay off the mortgage, go to the Motherland and Disneyland ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo, do other traveling, put some moneyin hte bank, and give to the poor :)

Hi to everyone else :wave2:

Ok, talk to you all later.

morning all!
Its finally Friday! Was that a long week or what? Whew!
This evening a few friends of DBF are coming up to the city from Ohio to do somme partying. One of the friends is getting married in 2 weeks (the day I return from the world, so I can't go and see DBF dressed up in probably the only tuxedo he'll ever wear  ) so this is intended to be a pseudo bachelor party. But the things he wants to do are nothing like the bachelor parties I've ever heard of! He wants to go out for beer tonight when he gets in..fine, thats typical. Tomorrow he wants to go to a fancy restaurant for lunch and a brazilian grill for dinner, in between that he wants to do afternoon tea at the four seasons (?) and "walk around" the mile and after dinner he wants to go to a posh wine bar! :rotfl: Is it just me, or does this seem to be a little more of a girls' night out? princess: It sounds like a great time to me though! Well the man has
always been a little more on the feminine side. he was raised with all sisters, even though hes the oldest. I still haven't figured out whether I'm really invited though, as I would be the only girl. DBF hasn't bothered to ask, so if I'm not invited I'll probably end up sitting at home Dising because I have no time to make other plans. Why can't DBF plan things like I do once in a while?

Anyways, enough rambling.

Slo good luck on studying. I also hope that everything works out with Stephanie and the soccer/dance dilemma. When I was little I did a lot of stuff too and by middle school I had to drop things left and right due to scheduling conflicts. Of course, I ended up dropping everything that was related to exersize, which may not have been a good thing

Stitch hope your DD has a great day at school and loses those nerves quickly!

Tiggern thanks for the glowing review of AKL! I am really looking forward to being there. Although when I get there they may have to drag me out cause I won't want to leave! :rotfl:

Bunchkin have fun at the library!

Have a good day all! :wave2:

No rain here yet! Really cloudy though. :confused3

Thanks for the Wiggles link. Too funny! Here's another! Have you seen this one? Watch it before you let your little one see. May not be appropriate.

Wiggles - I'm too sexy

We had a great night last night!!! we had to return some gym shoes we had gotten for Gabriel to Marshall Fields (too small) and then we ran over to Target and got some stuff for the trip (mosquito spray, formula all kinds of goodies) and we stopped in the toy department of course! well we found the CUTEST kiddie laptop by VTech and needless to say Autumn is in love! What's funny is that she is playing on the laptop with her 'cell phone' between her shoulder and ear and a pen in one hanr :rolleyes1: where does she get this stuff?? :lmao:

So last night we were all taking turns playing on it, even Gabriel! Autumn was getting mad :furious: since it was ADAS!!! <---that's hous she says Autumns?!

someone told me on another thread that rain only happened in the morning in chicago yesterday.

in zion, we had over 2 inches in the day and it poured again last night.
lots of lightening.
a town or two over from us had fires.
4 houses destroyed by lightening strikes, no human injuries but all houses destroyed.

thnking of getting busy and clean up this dump of mine that i call home.

you all have a great day. and don't clean your house. i will do it for you.

Morning all! wow there are a lot of Monkee fans out there?!?

Sandy, i feel that way about sleeping in with the kids! haha! when i am up and WIDE awake and Sal has left SUPER early (like today) both kids sleep until 930!!! It's soo crazy!

RMOM--You should tell your family not to keep you cooped up in the closet, you HAVE to DIS! :lmao:

Mindy, that bachelor party does sound like fun!!!

Rosemarie, have a great weekend!

Our today consists of staying right in the house! it's a PACKING day! i'm going to try and get some more stuff into the cases! ::yes::

tomorrow my dad is coming over to hang out! :yay:

blahhh no rain or clouds over here! sun sun and more sun! i'm a gloomy day kinda person! the clouds and the rain and all that stuff really puts me in a good mood, is that wierd??

Morning all. I slept in this morning. sort of. Kids didn't want me to get up. They were "cleaning" and fixing me "breakfast" for a suprise. DS mopped the kitchen floor and did the dishes and DD organized the shoes and picked up. (nobody dusted, thought. DARN!!!) :lmao:
DMM missed you last night. Disneymama and I were the only ones up reminiscing about old shows. Too funny. I also had a little black and white TV with rabbit ears and knobs. I think it was about 11in. Came from Sears. My mom bought it so I could watch the Brady Bunch and some of my shows because my dad always wanted to watch the news from 4:30 til 6:30. Couldn't understand it. It didn't change in 30 minute intervals. Must have been about 1975. In fact, I still had that TV when I got married and moved out. We used it out on the deck to watch stuff on regular channels that we didn't need cable for. LOL Bet you can't find an electronic to last that long these days.

To answer the Million$$$ question, I'd by a nice house and pay it off, a reliable car and pay it off, put away money for kids college, put away money for retirement, and to some charities, and that would just about kill it.
