Hello everyone.
DD had her back appointment yesterday at Shriner's and what the ??? is up with the traffic going 10 mph for 45 min/hour. That was nuts.

I kept waiting for it to clear out after we got through one area. I know it used to be backed up in pockets but would then clear up, I kept thinking there was construction blocking a lane or an accident, etc... NONE of that was the case.
Of course, they took tollbooths away and have completely messed with my head. We take 88 to the Airport 290/294 split and I'm going "WAIT...what happened to the tollbooths here?"

My DH just told me that was the point of the open road tolling now but I so don't like it because that's how I knew where the turn off were, etc... for my different areas.

Now, I'm going to be all confused and I could see me missing an exit or something since I always knew it was after X tollbooth that an exit would be.
It does make it easier coming back home between I-88 and 83 is since that was always a mess to go through a tollbooth & if you needed to exit there was a pain (I never exited but it was messy). I was still have "change withdrawal" or whatever it's called when things change on you and you aren't prepared for it.
Anyway, we were supposed to be there by 9:00 but we got there at 9:25 (I only know that because they have a form that tells you what time you checked in) and we were there until 1 pm, so didn't get home until 3 pm. That's with stopping to eat because by 1 when we were done, we were all starving. I did notice they made our next appointment for 9:30 AM

We left at 7:30 AM, I thought that would have been enough time.
DD will be getting a Boston back brace to hopefully hold off on surgery. She is really in the very grey area for things. She already had her big fast growth spurt but both DD & I were confused since we don't remember it. She never went through several sizes of clothes in a short period of time or anything like that. She still has slow & steady growth to do. If we can keep the curve at where it's at until she is done growing all is well. She really, really, really, really doesn't want surgery so I think she will comply well with wearing the brace even though it's not going to be easy. She has to wear it 18-20 hours/day however, she CAN take it off to continue to do her gymnastics & cheerleading, etc... so YIPPEE for that.
She will be getting her brace on Dec. 26 and then working her way up to wearing it the 18-20 hours/day which should take about 2 weeks they said. She has to go back in Feb. to make sure it's doing what it's supposed to do and then every 4 months after that.
She is very happy that once she gets the brace that means more SHOPPING since none of her pants are going to fit. Geez, how horrible, we are going to have to go clothes shopping with her trying on all clothes & basically knowing mom is GOING to buy her whatever fits because I've heard it's hard to fit & once you find something that fits, BUY IT & buy a couple of them.
