hi all! hope you're having a lovely Friday morning! TGIF!!!
My surgery was scheduled, but we had to move it up to last Monday so that I would have enough time to recover before DBF goes off to Germany for 5 weeks and leaves me here alone. I'm still in a fair bit of pain, but this morning I was doing good and for the first time did not need any painkillers! Pretty exciting stuff, although the Vicodin is such a happy drug..ahem. back to reality. They operated on both of my underarms. I had had surgery on the left in March which didn't go well and left a big scar, so they went back in and touched that up, and they did the right side new. I have a skin condition which produced chronic cysts on my underarm areas, so they cut that problem skin out and sewed me back up. Sorry if that was TMI, but you asked :)

anyway, I am working on the Wicked meet still. All people have either paid or told me they were sending the checks asap, so we're good on that score. I wanted to open the forum for lunch ideas for before the show. I was thinking the Walnut room. What do you guys think? Post thoughts on the Wicked meet board as I have a hard time keeping up with this one sometimes!

Have a good day Chicago!

:scared1: "Help......I'm trapped in manic WDW mode and can't get out......."

...........but do I want to get out??????
Hope everyone had a crazy free day!
Debbie

Hi gang - I come baring treats tonight

pics219.jpg

These are from Chef Mickeys - ENJOY!!!! :goodvibes

I'm sitting here waiting to start dinner while Stephanie is at soccer practice. We aren't having anything to exciting for dinner tonight. We are having pork chops with shake-n-bake, Stove Top stuffing, and a vegetable. I don't want to start cooking to early because Steph probably won't be home until approx. 6:45 - 7pm.

So....how is everyone today?

Katie's haircut went so well!!! This salon is just for kids 16 and under and I just loved it!! They had little cars for the little kids to sit in and every station had it's own tv and DVD player so the children could pick out a video to watch during their haircut. Whoever thought of this was really creative!! :thumbsup2

HERSEY - How was Alex's museum day?

geffric - Kevin didn't want the furnace on yet, but I was FFRREEZZIINNGG!!!!! I have really thin skin   My boss did find out what was wrong with her son - thanks for asking. He has Kawasaki Disease and is now home and being treated with mediciane. I will now get together with my Broker to set everything up :thumbsup2

Becky2005 - Your DD is going to love that cell phone for her Christmas!!

Debbie6221 - Looks like you have a great list of places for you all to eat on your trip :goodvibes You are going to have a wonderful time!!

Princess Mindy - Your surgery sounds really painful :guilty: Sending you lots and lots of PD for you to keep healing :wizard: :wizard:

Well, I guess I should start thinking about making my dinner. Have a good night everyone!!

So YUMMY.........
I'd like to have one of those with my coffee every morning (while I was there and when I return to remind me of the trip)! :sunny:

We wanted to eat at Chef Mickey instead of the Concourse steak house but we called too late. :sad2:

Hey..did you guys see there is a thread that just posts pix of all the food they enjoyed in WDW! (I apologize for the "newbie" moves possibley bringing up old news) I had to unsubscribe because it was making me too hungry!!!!! My mailbox was filled with food pix every day of everything you can imagine!

Again....YUMMY!

I REALLY need to learn how to post pix. I read about it one night and it made my head spin. :confused3

We had fun at the Museum, very few school groups there. The frog exhibit was very cool. They had Alex's favorite the red eyed tree frog. I saw my all time fav, the fairy castle. We are having lasagna tonight. Thanks for the appetizer(oh I mean dessert) slo Are they chocolate covered mashmallows on a cookie?

Hi all-

Slo- Yum!!! Love the chocolate!! I never seen those before, but then I've only been to Chef Mickey's once(for Chrissy's MAW trip) and that was for the character breakfast, not dinner.
Thanks for sharing the treats!
Sorry to hear about your boss's son with Kawasaki Disease :guilty: :sad2:
That disease effects the heart, I think like an infection of the heart of some sort. Hope he recovers soon! :wizard:
Glad to hear Katie's hair cut went well :thumbsup2 We have one of those places in or town, too, with sitting in a car getting the haircut, etc. I've never done that with my kids, they are too big for those cars now.

We also have a Sport Clips place for men and boys. They do haircuts for men and boys, with a tv at each hair staiton,tv on ESPN.

Ok, gotta go as dinner is ready. I'll post more later.

:guilty: Oh boy...did I just get punished for spending too much time on the DISboards! My DD just CUT her brother's hair and right before his 1st birthday party on Sunday and our trip!!!!!!! :furious: :guilty: :furious: :guilty:
I am the worst Mom. I forgot she had her little scissors. We had big plans to go to the barber shop on main street for his "first" hair cut and now thanks to his sister it will be his second!
She cut her own hair once and she got in so..... much trouble I didn't think she would ever dream about doing something like that again. Oh to be 3 again (going on 4). No worries!
I guess I should be thankful because it could look a lot worse than it does. I am just mad at her right now but mostly mad at myself!!!!
Oh well, it's only hair right....it will be funny later, right???
I hate being mad....
Thanks for listening to me vent......

Side note....as I calm down I keep coming back and editing my original post. I think each time there's a little less negative energy in the post.

Another side note....as you can see I obviously haven't learned my lesson cause I'm back on the computer!

Is that the dollhouse? My friends from Indy are hoping to go to the museum in a couple of weeks, and Sam is so excited about seeing the dollhouse. I was talking to her today, and she asked me if it's still there. She's never been there before.

Debbie Careful Dising can be dangerous. My DS is thankfully past the running with scissor stage. Well it's time for me to go Hershey is bring me his bowl he must be thristing.

The only thing I know about Kawasaki Disease is that it's what Maxie had on General Hospital a little over 10 years ago. She needed a heart transplant, and her cousin BJ was killed in a school bus accident and she got her heart. It was so sad. I cried all week. A classic.

Ok, how stupid was this post? ;)

Yes but now they call it the fairy castle they must have changed it because I don't remember alot of what they now have in it. I must be suffering from "I remember when..." :confused3

As long as it's pretty much the same, I'm sure she'll love it. Thanks. :sunny:

I might see if I can take a half day off or something and go with them to the museum. Sam will be on fall break so they're planning on going on a weekday. She asked me when my fall break is. She didn't understand why I don't get one. ;) I don't know if I'll be able to go, though, because I'll be going to Skate America for three days later that week.

Ok Leigh you really need to get out more :teeth: From the little I know it's a relatively rare disease. If they catch it early enough and treat it, it decreases the more serious effects.

Soooo....at what age do they stop dressing up to go out trick or treating? Can it be this year for my DD who I just about had to smack upside the head in the store today for the attitude she pulled on not getting the costume she wanted?

I so don't want to be a mom of a teenager! I told her next year is her last year dressing up (the look of horror on her face was a nice touch!), we only did it until 8th grade. Of course, she pulls the "I'm so small no one would know -- look at DS-9 he's about the same height I am" -- :rotfl2: ) She does have a point though, if she's willing to take her brothers around, I would let her do it longer but still.

She wanted this devil costume and it was one where I thought it showed off too much belly -- I told her she could have it if she wore a leotard or something underneath -- she absolutely threw a tantrum (OK..it wasn't quite a tantrum like a 2 year old but you know the huffy stance, practically rolling eyes, life is unfair & I'm the meanest mom in the world stance/look/huffing). She kept saying I wouldn't let her get what she wanted -- I did keep reminding her that she COULD have it but she had to wear something underneath it....Never mind the fact that she will probably have her winter coat on anyway and no one is going to SEE it since it will be pitch black out rather quickly once trick or treating starts. :rotfl2: She was having no part of wearing a leotard underneath it. Her dad was with us too and he does the quick shopping, none of this deciding stuff so he was getting ticked off at her too and that is never a good thing (he can freak them out just by raising his voice a notch). We finally found something in the "teen" section I said was OK (and yet, she is having to wear a black shirt & shorts under that and is fine with it -- go figure! :confused3 ). We thought it would be too big but it actually fit her (teens must be really skinny nowadays because it fit her perfectly and we fully expected it to be way too big!).

I do NOT want to have to go through this scenerio again next year -- it's JUST a Halloween costume, they don't even wear them to school in Middle School, so it was not a fun scene with her attitude.

The good news is everyone was finally happy and has been wearing their costumes around the house. Of course, the question is will I EVER get the Thomas one off my youngest guy? I have a feeling he will be asking to wear that every day but he does look really cute in it.

That was my afternoon after we had gone to the dentist. DD has a loose tooth -- YEAH! I have a feeling she will be in High School still loosing baby teeth -- she's not thrilled though because once they all fall out and the adult teeth come in she will have to go in a full set of braces. Right now she just has some on her top teeth. Even my DS-6 did extremely well for him.

Doing much better now. I feel kind of guilty babbling to you guys all the time now and you don't even know me. I'll try and hold back. Just happy to find Disney fanatics like myself to talk to!
