Would this be a good restaurant to have a lunch at for my family of 4? I have a 3 yo and a 18 month old (at the time of the trip). Both will pretty much eat anything except standard "kid" fare like mac and cheese, burgers, chicken nuggets/strips...we don't eat that routinely at home, so they aren't used to it and don't really like them. Plus I (and DH) love to eat adventurously and try new things. Did you like Chefs?

Kids meal was the best thing about this place (a cheese puff pastry). I was not impressed with their adult meals - they were just ok. We didn't see Remy and that probably would have made the meal better for the kids. Honestly, I'm not planning on going back to this place anytime soon. That's just my opinion. While I have not gone to Biergarten, that might be a fun spot for your kids - music, dancing, and not having to sit still in a (somewhat) fancy French restaurant.

We hated our meal when we were there is August. It was the worst of our trip & definately will not go back in the future. We were really excited to try it & it seems the majority of people do like it. Maybe it was an off day for them

We had lunch there in December and were pleasantly surprised. The food, while not what I would call particularly adventurous, was well-prepared and tasty, while the service was quite good. Remy came out twice during our lunch, and the woman carting him around actually stopped at a couple of tables that had only adults, as apparently she saw they had interest in him, as well. Overall, it was an above average experience for us.

We won't be doing Biergarten again. DH lived in Germany and will not eat there again. He disliked it all, said none of it was German food, LOL. So I guess its Disney-fied German food. I enjoyed it though and you're right, the entertainment would be good for kids.

We ate there for dinner in June of 2009 and it was easily the worst meal of our trip. There were four of us (me, DH and 2 DS's) and none of us were impressed.

We did catch a quick visit with Remy, which was kind of fun.

Would I give them a second chance? Probably not...

OK - You guys are really scaring me! DD wants to eat there for dinner on her 13th b-day. She is taking French in school which is why she wants to eat her b-day dinner there. Now I do not know what to do...........

We had lunch there on Jan. 4 and loved it. DBF had the lobster bisque and the grilled Mahi-Mahi sandwich and both were excellent. I had the prix fixe lunch and chose the French onion soup (a nice delicate flavor with no trace of bouillon), the Croque Monsieur, and the profiteroles for dessert (we shared these). We were two adults, but Remy came to our table and we got some cute pictures.
We've also had dinner there. It was also good,but we liked lunch a little better. We'll definitely go back.

Everything we had at Chef's last month was excellent. One of DD(8)'s culinary highlights from the trip was trying escargot.

We are doing Chef de France when we go in March. We made our reservation around the time when we will be able to see Remy. I've read that you want to make your reservation 30 to 40 minutes before Remy comes out just to make sure that if you aren't seated right away that you don't miss him. I don't remember the times that he comes out but I want to say I remember 12:40 and 1:30. I know there are other times also.

We have had decent food there. Just decent. But honestly, both times we could tell it was frozen food that was previously prepared. I don't want to pay that much for prepackaged frozen food. The wine is fantastic though.

I had dinner there on my last trip and I loved it! The french onion soup was so good. I probably won't get the macaroni again-it wasn't bad, but just a little too creamy for my tastes. The profiteroles were so good! We missed Remy when we went last time, so we're going for lunch again this year so we don't miss him again

The only thing about it that made me raise my eyebrows was when we were waiting to be seated. We had made ADR's and were sitting there waiting for our name to be called when these two girls walked up and checked to see if they had a table available, and they did. So they gave their name and sat down near us. At this point, we had been waiting for about 10 minutes, not a long time by any means, but the girls who had just walked up had their name called about 30 seconds later So I went up to the hostess stand and told them we'd been waiting longer than the girls that were just called AND we already had advanced reservations (because even though I could stand to miss a meal, no one is getting in between me and french onion soup) So the hostess went to investigate and came back a few seconds later and says "Yeah, they called your name five times, you never answered." And I was about to tell her she never called our name because we were sitting there the whole time and never once heard it...but she already had menus in hand ready to seat us, so I just let it go. That was the only bump in that meal, and it was one that was fixed so I couldn't complain too much.

We love it there, and eat there every trip and have yet to have a bad experience.As for Remy, He does make an appearence, but it is not like a traditional character meal.Remy rolls thru the dining room on a serving cart and does a little show.He starts his circuit at the times listed below.Once he makes his pass, he does not double back.If you miss him, you miss him.( though some posters have had it happen where he has,but that is NOT the norm)
