Chef Mickey's - photopass or not

It is not photopass. We had the photopass & asked if they could put the picture on photopass, but the gal told us no. They take it as part of the dining experience & then you have the option of buying the pictures when tey come around to yoru table later on with them. Not sure if they will let someone take your picture as well, my guess would be no, since they are trying to sell you the pics, but have not actually tested this. We always take the picture & then we have bought the pictures the last 2 times we were there. (well, my Dmom & my DB bought the packages & we all split them up--we had bought other things for the family, so we each took turns on what we paid for; so I can't tell you the price!) The pictures do turn out very nice! Debbie

They take your photo and then try and sell the package to you while you are eating.

They will also let you take photos or even take a photo with your camera for you.

Also, IF you end up buying the package, there will be a Photopass number on the photos so that you can add them to your Photopass account BUT they will not tell you this or give you that number unless you actually buy the package.

Can anyone tell me how much the photo package is?

I wish I could remember what thread I read this on but anyway...someone posted elsewhere that if you go to the photopass place on Main St and tell them what day, what approx time, and what table you were at (although I've never seen actual numbers on any of the tables) that they can add them onto your photopass. They just don't advertise this. Also, oddly enough, the photo that the Disney photographer takes with our personal camera always turns out better than the one with their professional camera!

I was the "sucker" that bought the package. The photo turned out great. We were celebrating my nephew's birthday and they put a fun Mickey Happy Birthday burst on the lower right portion of the photo. I believe the package included an 8x10, some 4x6s and some smaller photos. We used some for Christmas gifts. You also get an 8x10 with the 5 Characters present on your day at CM's. Glad I made the purchase. Might do it again as a way to "chart" my nephew's growth. Probably won't, but I'd never say never.

Let me get this straight, it's $31.95 for ONE photo outside Chef's?? That is shocking if true! We've pre-purchased the photopass, but I most certainly won't be adding this picture if it's going to cost that much. I shall stick to using my own camera, even if I can't take one in the 'photo spot'.

I don't know exactly what the package includes now but 2 years ago it was two 6x8 photos and 6 wallet sizes with 2 in keychains and 2 in magnetic frames.

I think now it's one 8x10 and some 4x6 sizes and one 8x10 of the character gang.

It's a photo package, not ONE photo.

Correct, it's several photos not just one. I bought it because it was a good picture of us and something we never do. It's fun to have on our coffee table to see every day. I'm glad I decided to spend the money. If I didn't like the picture I would have passed on it though.

Also, when added to photopass after you make the purchase, you get all the photos taken, not just the one they made print photos of. It was cool to be able to add the photopass borders and such to the picture.

Phew, I nearly fainted when I saw the price! :lmao: Just the impression I got from the thread, that it was just one picture!

May have to see about this then when we arrive, like the poster said above, they take the picture anyway, then we can decide if we want it or not? We have the pre-ordered photopass, so if its a good one, we can just add it onto this right? :)

Actually, you cannot add restaurant photo packages to Photopass UNTIL you actually purchase the package first; then they will give you the Photopass number to be able to add it to your Photopass account.

They really want you to buy these packages so they will not let you add them to your Photopass account, unelss you buy the package first.

We always purchase these pictures. The ones at CM, the luau, Akershus....I guess we are suckers. I just think years from now, I will wish I would have purchased them. We always factor in the cost of photos into our budget. We will prepurchase the Photopass CD this year.

I bought the package when we were there for breakfast last year. The pictures turned out great! I thought it was a pretty good deal, we gave most away to family members when we got home :)

You know how you can have packages sent to your resort from shops inside the parks ? Can you do this with the photo packages ? We're going to Chef Mickeys on our first morning, then heading over to the Magic Kingdom. We don't want to lug the photo package around with us all day ... can we have it sent back to the resort or should we just plan on getting a locker when we arrive at MK ?

Not a silly question...I'd like to hear also. Although quite frankly, I doubt the 8 x 10 will make it all the way home with us. Yeeesh, I'd much rather a 5 x 7 or wallets.

here's the spiel,

Your package includes on 6x8 photo matted in an 8x10 frame, there's four 4x6's included plus the character photo in the folder. Each folder and character picture is themed to the resturant you are eating at. The chef's folder includes two recipes on the back of the folder (one breakfast, one appetizer).
The total is $31.90 and you can ship it to your resort if you eat there for breakfast (ohana's and chef's), or pick it up at the Magic Kingdom. They're delivered to the Magic Kingdom after breakfast for processing. You can do it for dinner but you have to wait an extra day to get them.

There is a photopass number on the top of the picture, but it's only told about if you purchase the photo. Most dining locations are trying to sell as many as possible to make it an included like CRT. And no the price did not jump way high because the pictures became included, the actually price of the package is cheaper (only like 20$) but since it's a guaranteed sale it can be lower. (at least from my understanding)
