Chef Mickeys Dinner....Hard to get....

I've been trying to get Chef Mickeys' for dinner for the past week or so. No luck, the only times available for my entire stay is 8:45. Thats kinda late for us to eat dinner. I always got ps' for CM for all of my other trips w/o any trouble. How come its so hard to get them now. I'm wondering if its because it was on disney unwrapped and looked great. We're not going til the 2nd. week of july, so I guess I'll try more as we get closer to our date. I'm wondering if GF concierge can help me get these???

We have an 8:30 pm PS for Chef Mickey on our first day. Since we're arriving to WDW later in the afternoon, we don't want to waste part of a ticket at the parks, we decided that we'd check in at All Star Sports, hit the outlet mall, pick up something to munch on. That way, we'll be hungry for dinner.

Now, it is very rare that we eat as late as 8:30 pm ... but it was the only time we could get and we were willing to make the change in our eating schedule!!! We figured a character dinner on our first night at WDW was the perfect way to kick things off since we weren't going right to the parks!

Also ... if you don't want to take the PS, you can always try walk-up or call that afternoon to see if there are any cancellations!

Keep on calling! For our last trip (last month) we were also told there was nothing before 8:45pm for weeks and then 5 days before our trip we called and were able to pick any time we wanted. Good luck!
Concierge may well be able to help you if they call and request a PS.

The trick is to keep calling. If you're lucky someone will have canceled their PS and you'll be able to get the opening. Happened to us. We kept calling, and on the day of our PS we got bumped up to the time we wanted.

I always make PS... there are always limited times...when we get to the world I call and ask what is availible and there are always more times... i think they leave times open for people that call same day... it always seemed that way to me anyhow...

I always make my chef Mickey's PS 120 days out now. We were there for 7 nights in January last year and could not get in any night before 8:45 PM. Learned my lesson on that trip. I have a 5:00 PM PS for our July trip. Especially with the FTP, ressies are going fast. Good luck and keep trying.
