Chef Mickey's = Character Cafe? how long ago?

someone at the library the other day mentioned Character Cafe when they were talking about Chef Mickey's
I found character cards & folder w/ Character Cafe on the front from a long time ago - how long ago?

It was called Character Cafe (generic name, no?) in the early to mid '90s, I believe. Before that it was the Terrace Buffeteria.

And Chef Mickey's used to be in Downtown Disney Marketplace (Disney Village, as I still tend to call it) where Rainforest Cafe is now. It had lovely waterfront dining. I remember going down in September one year with my grandparents and sitting outside there. Chef Mickey was the only character.
