Wow.... a Disney Dinner sounds FUN!!!! But I think my friends/family would have me committed if I try that with them. :rotfl2:

I've always wanted to tell you that I LOVE the pictures of Johnny Depp that you've had in your sig recently.

:moped: Here's to running errands on a Harley. :thumbsup2 (don't have one, but sounds fun)

You really checked this topic to see what *I* said? I didn't know what I had to say was that important to you! I'm flattered! :rotfl:

And you missed my point. NO- I do not agree with everything other CF say, nor do I expect parents to agree on everything. I was not talking about just plain "disagreeing". The point is that I see parents can be very vicious and nasty to *each other* when they disagree on something, even to the point of a thread being locked. And I am honest when I say it does hold some entertainment value for me to see a huge fight on the boards- whether they are parenting related or not.
Maybe those threads turned nasty because they are debating something they really are passionate about. Are you telling me that YOU have never been nasty when arguing something you feel strong about? Even some childfree people on this board think you get nasty about being childfree.

Oh...and if me reading a thread for entertainment value makes you think that you are important to me, you are very mistaken. You just never fail to bring the funny, illogical statements out on these types of threads. You have your "trainwreck" threads, I have mine.

Can we let this go for crying out loud!?

GOOD FOR YOU!!! It's so nice to hear that someone is actually abstaining these days. (FTR, I am dead serious, not being sarcastic)

Stalk much??

I'm off to my parents house for dinner. Have a great night CFs!!

Thanks :) I am just not into the dating scene right now and I am happier this way. :) If I do date again, hopefully I will find a mate who has the same values I do and won't just want to hop into bed.

Just ignore the Ice Queen. She has a loong history of pestering me - under various usernames. Whatever....

Anyhoo..have a great CF night yall! See ya later!! :cheer2:

What do you mean 7? I STILL do lalalalalalalalala. :rotfl: :rotfl2:

DH just got home an announced that he doesn't want the hassle of getting the dog ready and loaded up for pictures so it will be just the 2 of us tonight. :(

I don't think he is ready for the inconvenience of kids right now! :rotfl2:

I always have to thank the complete strangers on the public message board whenever they feel they have to point out to me the complete worthlessness of my entire life.

Thanks again. :thumbsup2

Let the flamming begin, but I don't care. I love writing this stuff.

That's great that you have decided to be child-free. This means that by not having children the world will eventually be ridden of people who think like you. Hopefully? Hehe.

I guess you don't regret your parents having born and raised you, so you could go to disney when the kids are in school and you don't have to deal with them.

This is one of the sadest threads I've ever come across on the internet and I can't believe its here on a disney website. Color me naive.

Have fun dying all alone in a nursing home...its a blast. I've seen the future for the child-free. Its dark and lonely in the end.

Have a great life and enjoy disney while you can. Can't buy me love...best song ever.

Hello!

There seem to be lots of threads for those discussing motherhood and other issues relating to children, so how about a thread on the CB for those of us who choose to be child-free? Anyone interested?

My husband and I just celebrated our 13th year of childfree marriage and we have enjoyed every minute of it.

We're childfree and happy. We actually prefer the term THINKer - Two Healthy Incomes No Kids.

Okay, I'm in. Me and my defacto DH (together 8 years, engaged and enjoying that part of our relationship journey w/o worrying about a wedding) are CCF and THINKers. I love that term. And I'm looking forward to some cheerful DISer conversations with other DINKers, OINKers, and THINKers. I hope I haven't left anyone out. :goodvibes

For those of you who "always knew" they never wanted children, how early on did you know? I'm just curious.

I knew since me early teens. When people would make a fuss over a baby, I just didn't get it. To this day, if someone brings around a baby or shows me pictures of a baby, it bores me to death.

My parents tell the story that when I was about 8yo I announced I was never going to have kids. By the time I was in my teens, I knew for sure; it was not news for my parents, who have never once thought I would have children or even hinted they would like me to. They've always accepted my childrfree as an essential part of who I am. (Okay, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but for the most part they've been cool about it.)

As luck would have it, when I was 30 and a confirmed OINKer I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I needed to have a total hysterectomy, which removed the choice to have biological children. This situation helped hasten the end of the relationship I was in at the time, which was already struggling because of the "to have or not to have" issue. But because of my illness I became friends and eventually became romantically involved with my now-DH, who also was an OINKer. :Pinkbounc On my sentimental days, I like to think it was fate.

So fellow CCF guys, I was just wondering what things you particularly liked doing at Disney. Do you go for character meals? I personally haven't yet but plan to in the future, it is just something we haven't got round to yet. Do you have pictures taken with the characters? I sure do, I just line up with the kids!! What about the evenings? We usually go to one of the deluxe hotels for dinner then maybe back to the nearest park to watch a late parade or fireworks. We have never been to DTD in the evening, loud clubs aren't really my DH's thing. Do you go on the rides aimed at kids? We haven't really at WDW as there is so much there we have yet to do, at DLP though we have been on everything!

Oh, we do it all. We go on character meals, get autographs and pictures taken, stay out late, eat junk food. And because we travel with just the two of us most of the time--although I sometimes love traveling with other people's kids--we can rush to our favorite "kiddie" rides and do them before there are long lines. For instance, we went to DLR this summer and I got to ride on the Gold Dumbo with no lines! Same with Peter Pan. :lovestruc I do admit to hanging back and letting children go first when lines for characters, pics, and autographs are long.

Oh, in case anyone's interested. I don't like or dislike kids. My reaction to kids is very similiar to the reactions I have to other people, dogs, and cats: some I like, some I don't.

When DH andf I go to Disney, we spend a lot of time at Epcot listening to our favorite musical groups (British Invasion, Off Kilter, Mo' Rockin') and having a few sips of champagne (me) or beer (DH) or wine (both of us).

Meals at WDW are a big event for us. We've never done a character meal (believe it or not, neither of us are into any characters, although we are starting to get a kick out of Tinkerbell), but we do a lot of spontaneous table-service meals (like calling Disney Dining at 8:30 PM to find a World Showcase restaurant that can seat us within the next 15 minutes~! :cheer2: ).

Last time we were at WDW, we spent a fair amount of time at Animal Kingdom so that DH could ride Expedition Everest a few times. :sunny: I do like the kiddie rides at MK and DH will go with me just to indulge me.

We still have tons of things to do at WDW that we haven't gotten around to yet, despite making 6-8 weekend trips/year for the past few years. We will be going to the Food and Wine Fest at least twice (have ressies at CBR Sept 30- Oct 1 and at the Dolphin for 4 nights in November) and will finally do the Segway tour in November!

Maddhatir, where in NJ are you? BTW I love Weird NJ magazine!

We live in Marlton.

OMG- not sure if you all got the same storms we did last night but they were crazy! I have NEVER seen or heard anything like that in my life. Wind, hail, rain! I looked out the window and I couldnt even see outside! I was freaked out- I kept telling DH this does not sound right- I have never heard anything like this. The electricity went out. After the storm was over, I then heard an automobile outside on our street- I checked out the window and saw someone with a flashlite and heard what sounded like a poice radio. Here a tree fell on our neighbors roof! There were police and fire rescue out there.

What was wierd was, there are leaves and branches EVERYWHERE- it looks like someone put a bunch of leaves in a woodchipper and sprayed them all over the street, our yard, the house, my car looks like it is covered in basil! :rotfl: My Day Lilies look like someone took a weedwacker to them- they are cut down!

I wonder if we got somekind of a twister or something?

Anyhoo- I LOVE Wierd NJ mag. I have been a subscriber for about 10 years now!

Whereabouts in Philly are you from?

Us too! We will be doing the tour on Sept 21st for the first time. We have done Keys to the Kindgom- that was pretty cool.

I agree- DH and I have been 10 times and we still find new things to do.
