You mentioned lemon cake a few posts back. I'd kill for one. do you make it from a mix--or do you let the handy dandy bakery down the street make it?

The lemon cake is my sister's thing. And she'd make it from a mix. She's too *a-hem* thrify... to pay someone else to bake it for her. :teeth:

Oh, and it's actually a cake, not like a bundt cake or pound cake. Light fluffy cake.

I'll take a restaurant smoked turkey and a store bought cake over my own creation any time! I'm too low on time and skills!
mmmm. cake.

Hello Chicks!!! Hazzi should be on soon?? No one else is here now??

I just got home from one of our basketball games. Man, I'm tired! Only one more day of real work this week, then of course my weekend gig! I only have to work 2 days next week!!! Yea, we get Wednesday, Thursday & Friday off. I'm so looking forward to this break! I like to go down to WDW during this break but we couldn't do it this year. Hopefully next year.

Have a great night everyone, or when you read this, I hope you had a good night! Fab, hope the little princess doesn't have you up a lot at night any more.

eh at 3:52am i didnt feel like getting up and of course i would ahave been here at 6 but i woke up late

OK.
I feel bad.
I shouldn't make fun of the poor people.

Lori, I just love waking up to a good laugh!!! Thank you for the added commentary.

And the little princess is indeed waking me up every few hours - but unlike her sister, she doesn't wake up crying (she wakes up gnawing on her fist like a starved weavel) and she goes right back to sleep after she eats.

:thumbsup2

Good Morning Chicks. :wave2:

Happy Friday to you all. This is the day I've been waiting for. Since our last trip had to be cancelled it just seemed like this day would never happen. But alas it did.

One last shout out to the chicks. This will have to last for the next week.

I hope I didn't miss anyone. If I did it's because the brain is in overdrive this morning.

Yes, we go Sept. 30th. But only for a week (as opposed to your 3). I think we'll be staying at the Swan for this trip (not surprisingly, dh has points).

And where will you be staying, Hazzi?

Hey Cheeky ones!

A drive by post here. I had thought we'd only do the cruise next year, but now I'm thinking about going to WL during Fall Break next year, which is early October. I figure that we've already paid for our cruise in the spring, so it's not like we'd be paying for 2 vacations next year if we decided to go in the fall.

Also, I wanted to add that I got the Neal Gabler Walt Disney book for my birthday a couple of weeks ago. I've been reading it (slowly) since then. I'm about 1/3 of the way through. It's pretty good. It's very exhaustive in the descriptions of their terrible financial management, and also in Walt's abusiveness towards his staff. But it's also very interesting in its description of how that early magic occurred. In short, I recommend it. Right now, I'm at the point where they are conceiving and storyboarding Snow White. Walt had troubles convincing some that moviegoers were interested in a feature length cartoon, rather than the short serials they'd been making to that point. It's a good read.

Grimley!

I don't suppose there will be any overlap (I'm 9/30 to 10/6, I believe)?

I'll look into that book, although I don't do much reading these days (my hands tend to be full, as they say).

Hope the flying is going well.

Hey, nice plane there! Flying is going alright, although I'm kind of cash-strapped. I'll probably not fly much until spring. I flew up to my MIL's town in Ohio last weekend, just to shake the rust off a bit. But that was only about a 1.5 hour flight, versus a 3 hour drive.

As to overlap, I don't know yet. I don't yet know when our school's Fall Break will be. In 2005 it was the first week of October, almost exactly the dates you mention. But this year Fall Break was the second week of October. They probably won't announce the schedule until spring or so, and we may not book until later on. I'll be sure to let you know, though. I just came up with this idea earlier today, actually, so we still have to figure out if it's feasible.
