Checking to see if there are PIN codes attached to your name...

I called last night to ask. I've been thinking about it for a couple of weeks but since reading various threads wasn't sure if I should. I know that I had received some kind of offer several weeks ago but since we had already decided not to go I deleted it. Well, we changed our minds about going. I checked everywhere for the e-mail but I must have cleaned out my trash.

Anyway, I called the general number and spoke to a very nice CM. He checked and found a 30% discount code under my name. I was able to save over $500 on my December trip - staying at BWI. This will be our first stay at a deluxe - it's our 10 yr anniversary. I had been hoping for some kind of discount.

So after my long story - I say call. The worst they can say is no.

I called at the end of last month and asked them to check my name for pins. It was the only reason I booked a trip, because the CM was sooo nice and I had a free $500 gift card waiting for me :D

Can you use a code if you are already booked? Will they apply it?

CM said they "Can not look to see if any codes are attached to my name." :confused3 BUMMER!

I am not giving up! The what if's would have killed me! I called back and another CM checked. No pins (yet) but now I know.

So sorry the CM wouldn't check for you. I would try again at another time. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I just did this a few days ago so maybe you will find luck with a different CM. Maybe call back at another time of day??

I just applied a code to my reservation for December. But it might depend on the availability. Maybe someone else will come along with a better answer.

Just because you have a pin doesnt mean it can be applied to your res. Every pin and code has a limited number of rooms that can be booked with it. If its available then yes, they can apply it

I have received two offers with pin #'s. I noticed that although the offers are different, the pin # is the same, which clearly means each person is assigned their own pin #, thus making the offers non-transferable.

Has anyone ever called, spoken with a CM, and asked them to look up offers and codes associated with your name/phone/address by using that pin #? Would that make it easier for them and less likely to dismiss you? Or would it only bring up that specific offer and not any other discounts you might have associated with your name/phone/address?

Have you guys ever pointed out the fact that you know MANY people that have recently gotten code checks done for them? Call the CM out on it. Obviously it can be done since some people are getting lucky. If you call them out on it, they might just suck it up and look for you. By them saying no just means they're lazy!

I was told they could no longer check for codes too. That's ok - I could hardly understand the person I was talking to so I'll call another time.

I'd love to save some more money on my end of april/early may trip.

Keep calling! I called last night for something else and since the CM was so pleasant I decided to give it a shot.

She found a code for the kids dining which, unfortunately, I can't use since we are going in December; but she told me that any CM can look it up in your profile and it only takes seconds.

When I called to book my trip a couple of days ago, I asked the CM if she could check to see if I had any pin codes and she said they could only check if you told her what kind of offer you rec'd. ie.. "I got an offer for 40 % off but can't find the code". She said they couldn't just do a blanket search for pin codes.

For whatever thats worth

I just called and had a nasty CM who said they cannot look up the codes on your name anymore, they can fired over it....so I am on the phone trying again

What I don't understand is that if they are mailing pins and for whatever reason you don't receive it (snail-mail) why some/a few of the CM's are being rude or snarky about it. Obviously it was issued to you for a reason and is there for you to take advantage of it.

Ok I just called back and got a much nicer CM who looked up my name and the pincode ... I was thinking of booking a weekend trip the end of August and the dates are covered....

Dont give up, just call back until you get a nice one!

Anyway, I ordered the WDW dvd about a month ago, cruise dvd 2 wks ago, & ordered customized maps on Friday. Don't know if it's connected w/ my FD code, but I'll certainly take those steps next time we're ready to book! Best wishes to everyone!

How and where did you order the customized maps from? I would love these...I am still learning all this stuff. Thanks;)

Also, we booked our trip through Dream Unlimited Travel, does that mean that there is no chance of us getting anything attached to our names, so I shouldnt even bother calling? And if I should call what number exactly should I be calling...I am sooo addicted to this board...LOL...Thanks :)

Go on the WDW site under "My Vacaition". There you will find the cusomized maps and other planning tools.

I called yesterday to ask a question and the CM I got was very sweet! There was no code for our name but she asked me some questions and updated our info and said "maybe that would trigger something". It was so nice of her to make the effort! :)

I still dont get why they wouldnt want to check. It literally takes 10 seconds to check and if you have one your probably likely to at least put something on a courtesy hold and they get credit for the booking if you put a deposit on it

I just called back today to add our flight info for ME and the CM was really nice so I thought I would take a shot and ask about pin codes. He said no way, that you have to have the code then they can look up what it is for but that they can't just look for an offer.

As a side note he said he didn't see my email address with my ressie in the system but I just got my confirmation from them via email a couple of days ago so not sure what is happening with the system over there.

Also, I updated my profile on disney website as they had my street address in the apt # space and nothing in the street box so maybe I was getting over looked as an incomplete address before. :confused3

That being said, not sure why Disney is cracking down on looking up pin codes, they offered them in the first place right????
