When we made our ressies we put everyone's room in our name since we weren't sure if we would all arrive at the same time. We plan on checking in around 8 am(I already told the group that it would be very unlikely that the rooms would be ready)and then hitting Epcot. Will the stragglers in our group be able to check in and purchase their park passes without us there?

Not if their names are not on the reservation. But you can still call MS and add their names to the reservation.
