checking in luggage a day earlier

we have reservations for our first time staying at SSR july 4th-13th. i will be arriving early a.m. july 3rd with DS#2 on the 3rd and are planning on staying a day at one of the other onsite resorts. cant stay at ssr due to lack of points and really just wanting to stay somewhere different for the joy of it.

what i need to know is since we only really need an overnight bag for the one night, is there anyway i can just check-in my luggage at ssr instead of having to haul it back over to ssr after a one night stay at lets say POP. i am guessing that the 4th is going to be busy so if i can make anything easier that day i will do it.

Take your luggage with you to that first resort and have Disney get it over to SSR the next day. I don't think that you can store your stuff at SSR before you actually check in. But, the resorts do a great job of transferring luggage to the other on-site resorts. We do it all the time. Just let them know early on the 4th that you'll need to have it transferred. It might not get to SSR until late afternoon but it will get there.

I would check with Bellservices at SSR.

We once stayed at BCV for a week, checked out for 2 days, then checked back in. (We went to Universal for the weekend) We didn't want to take all our luggage to Universal with us. We asked Bellservices if they could store some for us. It was not problem!

There's no charge for luggage transfer between onsite resorts. Just give the bell desk plenty of notice, and flag anything that needs to be refrigerated.

I don't think that you can store your stuff at SSR before you actually check in.

We did exactly that last year. Not at SSR but BCV. Flew down early due to an impending snow storm. Reservations were with BCV for six nights. We had to stay at BWV for the night before our original resssie. Simply checked most of our luggage at BCV and walked over to BWV for the one night. No questions asked, timeframes were not an issue.

thanks for the replies. i think that we will just check-in at the hotel we are going to stay at and just have our luggage shipped over later on
