Wow, it has been a rough 12 days. We had to replace our entire well system and did not have water until yesterday. We were without power for 9 very long days. Our house recieved quite a bit of damage, but not even comparable to those who lost everything. The pictures do not even compare, it is unbelievable. Entire neighborhoods are just gone. We have alot of damage to our attic, the wind destroyed the soffits and traveled thru the attic exiting thru the garage. Our ac system is destroyed and the ceilings in the garage, entry, living room and kitchen have to be replaced. I was able to pick up my dogs today from a kennel in Northport,(they were a godsend). It is wonderful to be back home as a family. My DH is the operations mgr. for an ambulance company in Port Charlotte so he has been working nonstop. The worse part was losing all three local hospitals for about 8 days. Alot of patients had to be transported elsewhere. I would like to thank all the people who have donated time, money, food etc. There are so many people who have nothing left. I would also like to thank Carnival Cruises, they brought up several trucks of supplies and donated $500,000. Please keep all the people in SW Fl in your hearts and minds, it will take a very long time to get back to "normal", but we will! God Bless.... Dina
