Check your Delta ressies!!!!

GRRRRRRR!

Our flight down is now landing 2 minutes earlier so our seats are gone again. They say "Not Assigned" and it won't let me choose them online. Another call to Delta. I have lost count. This is so aggravating.

I'm so glad to have seen this post. I came to this board because I'm considering whether to buy our tickets now or wait til after the holidays for a June trip, non-disney. The flight I would have purchased was Delta out of Milwaukee. After reading this post I won't be flying Delta, the frequent schedule changes (along with a horrible delay) is why I won't fly American again. The schedule changed and this having to call for every change has convinced me to boycott Delta; I hate not being able to do something online quickly and the stress would kill me before the trip.

I have to drive to get to any airport but that also means I have the choice of Chicago (4 hours), Minneapolis (3 hours) or anyplace in between. I think we'll be flying out of MSP with NW for this trip unless something else cheaper with a decent schedule turns up before I book.

Thanks for this post, calie

For some reason I decided to check our flights for a 12/1 trip a couple of weeks ago. The return leg had a different flight number and a 15 min change in the time, but the outbound had a new flight number and a 5 hour 40 minute change earlier (from 12:40PM to 7:00AM). To make things even more interesting, on 12/1 Delta is changing the reginonal carrier that their using from Delta Connection to Shuttle America. I don't have good feelings about this, the first day with the new regional carrier.

Oh, and when I asked Delta when they planned to get around to notifying me about this change the rep said it's normally 3 to 4 weeks before hand that they would call. I'm just glad I could change some other things around to fit their new schedule but this will cost me more money now due to longer car rental charges and dog boarding.

that our ressies have NOT been changed on a Sunday!! Whoopppeeee. I am sure they will be changed again though before or Dec 22nd flight. I will just keep checking. I am getting worried as the original flight was at 7:30 and now the flight is at 5:30. I looked into having them change them but our flight is the last on connecting and flying out that evening. If I book another airline now I will have to pay so much extra $$$$$$. We don't get out of school (DH and I are teachers) until 3:15 and it is a 1/2 hour trip to the airport! We are cutting it so close!!!! I am letting the older kids have a half say of school or they would not get home in time. If they make the flight any earlier I don't know what we will do!!!1

Your seats are not gone, they are just not visible online. If this agravates you, I would hate to see what happens with a real schedule change or cancellation. Take it in stride...it is a minor annoyance in the scheme of things. Maybe you would rather pay full fare on another carrier so you don't have to monitor your seats?

My Delta reservations (which I did pay full fare for) have changed 5 times....and not only were the seat assignments not visible on line, they no longer existed. Not once have I been alerted by email....it was only by checking them on a daily basis that I found they had changed. While these changes may seem insignificant to some people, they have a rippling effect on all other reservations. I have had to call Magical Express, reschedule dinner plans, etc. I think we deserve better service than what we are getting.

It does aggravate me because it has happened, gosh I have lost count. And there have been times when yes I did lose my seats because when I called I was not able to get back the ones I had (I asked for the same ones). We are travelling with 3 kids who have never been on a plane before and I don't want us to end up sitting seperately. My being aggravated should not bother you.

Once or twice is a minor inconvenience but when it happens almost every week and you then have to call them in order to find out what your new seat assignments are, change other reservations, etc., the aggravation adds up. To say that we aren't paying full fare is not fair - even if you paid for first class tickets the same thing would be happening, so the amount of money we paid has nothing to do with it.

I was lucky this week, no changes for us - but I still monitor them closely and as soon as there is a change, I'll be on the phone with them again. My only hope is that there aren't any changes while we are on vacation - I won't be able to call Delta while we are sea without paying an exhorbitant price.

Hi All

We just got an email about an Airtran 48 hour sale.
check it out!! could get seats for $59 N/S bucks verses the $130.00 N/S
each we paid on delta that is huge savings :thumbsup2 for 8 people :sunny:

well anyways, Delta changed our flight an hour and 10 minutes later for our arrival. told them I wanted full refund they said No.
gave me the 90 minute rule!

Said, I would not get any refund, since it was special fare.(Non refundable)
im calling back as we speak. :teeth:

:sad2: Seems, they make notes on what they tell you! :teeth:
:lmao:
Calling back again! :teeth: No luck 3rd time
I give up!

Could get credit for ticket, good for one year.
but the other 6 will not be flying in that time frame!
and each ticketed Person, must use there own ticket!

Man, do I miss Song.
It is hard to understand the people on the other end of the phone!!

And as far as the time rule - it's the 90 minute rule with Delta. If your flight changes 90 minutes or more one way or another, you can change your schedule up to 48 hours before or after your original flight (I was actually able to have a Delta rep change mine by 2 weeks the first schedule change). The other option is you can cancel for a full refund.

I so miss Song....I wish Delta would have kept Song and dumped Delta.

I keep hearing this but can not find it published with the fare we purchased!
either under fare rules or Conditions of Carriage. :furious:

Price and status are NOT the primary factors in seat reassignments for equipment changes. Class of service is the primary factor. Following that, you have the first several rows (usually through row 9 or 10) of coach which are always reserved for elite to book. Fare codes are never a factor, and beyond those first few rows of coach, neither is FF status

(And yes, I am simplifying, and there are add'l variables, but the two primary factors are usually price and status.)

This is the first Sunday in about 6 weeks where our ressies WERE NOT CHANGED!!! I will check again on Tues as that is the other day the flights seem to be changed. I am thrilled, maybe they are set now!!!

Ours didn't change - keeping my fingers crossed that there are no more changes!
