Check your Delta ressies!!!!

No changes so far this weekend - but we still have another day to get through and the last change they made was on Sunday. I'm keeping my figures crossed that there aren't any more.

my itinerary has not changed yet but when I go into the reservations to check prices...my flight time has changed by five minutes going and also coming back for Dec.2-10? I bet in the morning I will see my seat assignments are not showing up again and will have to call them...this makes 5 changes so far for me! I am so tired of this!!

They got us again this morning - one flight changed by 3 minutes and all the seats were gone. On the phone with Delta ASAP and this time they had to transfer me to have the tickets reissued - each time it happened before the person I spoke with was able to help me. So now I'm talking to India and he is trying to convince me to cancel my ressies with Disney and take a chance with them to earn points. I politely told him that I wasn't interested and he kept it up - finally I just hung up on him - after I made sure that I had new seat assignments.

Flight changed by 3 minutes...seats for one part of the trip GONE!! I am so tired of this. I called and was able to change them again but I am so tired of this. This is the 7th time(I think I have lost count) All these small changes have moved our flight departure time by over 2 and a half hours but if I were to change flights now I would have to pay $$$$$ because all the cheaper flights are booked. I think that they know this that is why they have no problem changing flight times. I can't get my money back and find another flight now it is too late. DARN. I will continue to check on Sunday and Tuesdays as that is when the changes seem to be made.

The seats are not "gone" when there is a small time change like this...they just are not viewable online. Once you call to reconfirm you are aware of the schedule change, they repost your seats...its not like someone else gets them. Only when there is a change of aircraft or flight number do you run into these types of "seat loss" issues.

Ugh, you poor folks this is just awful! I hope this all stops and you get those flights you want!!

Note to self: Never ever fly Delta.

sometimes even with a 3 minutes flight change the seats ARE GONE! It all depends on when you realize that the flight has changed. I called on the 3rd or 4th change and the seats were gone because I had not realized that the flight had changed. That is the whole problem, no notice from DELTA. We were all scattered on the plane. No seats were together. I fretted about it but lo and behold a week later another change and when I called I was able to change them all so we had some together. It all depends on when you call. This time 2 out of the 7 seats were different......I called a few hours after the flight change was posted.

...or anyone who uses them as a codeshare partner.

We're flying Northwest. I made my ressies through NWA but have to check in at Delta for our trip home.

Luckly all these changes haven't effected me. Hope they don't decide to make a change while I'm at Disney!

Well...I just checked mine and nothing changed. My AA flight is still ok too. I'll check on them again after Christmas.

Yes I agree that they are "there" but I have to call to view them and there have been times when I didn't have the seats that I originally had and they had us all over the plane. If you don't call you don't know what you have. So as far as I am concerned until I can see my seats online they are gone.

Ugh, i just check our ressies also, and they changed our flight back home! We are now coming home 3 hours earlier, what a rip!! We can still get half a day in the parks, but I just don't know why they think they can change flight times like this! People plan their schedules around flights, get a clue Delta!!

Ok, the above is me quoting myself, heehee :rolleyes1

I JUST checked my flight again, and our return flight was just changed again. At least this time it was pushed later, thus more park time to enjoy. It is still about 2 hours before the flight I ACTUALLY BOOKED back in APRIL however! We are leaving 3 weeks from today, and I am sick of all the changes. Ok, sorry for the rant, but I'm just annoyed :sad2:

Ashley,

You can rant all y ou want. Delta has almost ruined our vacation. I am so nervous everyday checking for surprises in our reservations. We have 11 days to go and I keep wondering if they are going to change them again.

Don't they realize, or care, that in addition to price, flight arrivial and departure times have a lot to do with the flight we choose?

Why should they? If the ticket is nonrefundable, they get their money regardless of how you feel.

I have to send a thank you out to the OP. I didn't know Delta was known for this and wasn't thinking about checking yet. But I did and they had us flying into Portland at 11:30 pm witha 2 and 4 year old!!! I could not believe that change. I called and they got me on a great flight but I know that one will probably change as well. I just need to make sure to stay on top of DELTA!!!! It is frustrating and if I had known before hand I would have gone with Southwest. O, well, live and learn.

Yes they may get my money now but they will NOT get it again in the future. And look at how many of us are on here telling other people - it is a proven fact that people tell more people about bad customer service than good. By continuing to have bad customer service they get a bad reputation. I haven't flown on Delta in several years but if this what it has been like, no wonder they had to file bankruptcy.

I will NEVER fly Delta again - and yes I do realize I am only one person - but for everyone of us that is vocal there are hundreds of others who are quietly doing the same thing.

Delta's current loyalty marketing is focused almost exclusively on international flyers. Between those passengers and residents of a good chunk of the Southeast who really have no practical choice except Delta, you pretty much define Delta's regular market. Unless you are an elite domestic FF, you don't make them enough money for them to invest in keeping your business.

I'm not saying it's right, and certainly not smart, but that's how they have chosen to focus their customer service efforts. Thanks to the Atlanta hub system, there are a huge number of people from a populous chunk of this country who really can't afford to boycott Delta if they need to get anywhere in a timely fashion, and Delta knows it.

Luckily for me, I don't live in the Delta zone, and I can easily choose not to give them my business unless I have to visit Atlanta, which I haven't in a very long time. I haven't set foot on a plane affiliated with Delta for over 7 years. When I fly domestically, SWA is my airline of choice, largely because *I* control where I sit.

Add me to the list - this is the 6th change, and we have 3 weeks to go. Our extended family is scheduled to meet at the layover airport (ATL) and have the same flight to Orlando so we can all help with the kids. ugghhh....of course, keep losing all of teh seating.

Anyone care to make a bet on how many more changes we have before Dec. 6th rolls around?
This is the worst customer service I have seen in a long time. I will say though that they Delta rep. I had was very nice and efficient. Especially when she saw they had changed our connecting flight to arrive at 10:56 AM in ATL and leave at 11:14 AM...ummm, not going to happen.

Now, that is an algorithm they need to fix!

This thread is certainly an eye-opener. We usually fly Air Tran with few changes, but we have occassionaly looked at Delta for better times. I will check Delta off the list as a future carrier. I certainly do not need the added aggravation while planning a Disney trip.

This is good advice for anyone traveling on any of the airlines that let you book your flights 11 months prior. Up until four months prior to the flight, you can expect lots of schedule changes, during which you'll lose your seat assignments.

Thanks for this. All I knew is Delta was the ONLY airline I ever had a problem with schedule changes. I liked Song and never had a problem . I just try not to use Delta anymore cause they are a pain in the butt. Thank goodness for other choices.
