I just checked Dollar's website and my minivan rental for Dec. 3-12 came down another $11. My total is $271.88 using the MAG code. Not too bad! I had looked this morning and it hadn't changed, but for the heck of it I re-checked this afternoon and it was down. Every little bit counts!

Thanks mine just went down $11 as well...just changed my ressie..

Thank you VERY much!!

I just saved a total of $54 on my 2 week minivan rental! That's a lot of Mickey bars, let me tell you!

I don't know what the MAG code is---couldn't find anywhere to enter it---but I just went through the reservation steps, and the price drop was great.

Thanks again. I love these boards.

Thank you. I just saved another $10 for the week. I can't believe that a minivan is only $168.99 for a week.

Patti,

The MAG code is from the Orlando Magicard website www.go2orlando.com. You can sign up for the free discount card and print a temporary card from your computer. It gives you a 10% discount for most Dollar rentals. From the Dollar website, click "promotions" under the "specials" tab and there will be a place to enter the code. Hope this saves you more money.

On my flipping heavens!!!! You people just saved me ANOTHER $30!!!!! It'd better be warm, 'cause that's $84 worth of Mickey bars in the middle of December that you saved me in TWO DAYS!!!!! Thanks for the info, thanks for the link, thanks for helping each other out!!!!

May you all have no lines on your favorite ride, no strollers bonking your heels, and short people in front of you during the parade!

Okay...so now how do I get a temporary MagicCard? Couldn't find it anywhere on the site. Suggestions, oh discount gurus?????

Wow, I thought my other rate was good since every time since making that ressie I've checked and the prices have been higher, but I just checked and lowered my rates $38!!! That's a 2 week rental of a fullsize car--was $334 inc fees and now have a ressie for $296.

Thanks larfamily!

As far as the MAG code, I reserved with this code in Sept and was never asked for the card. I will get it this time just in case the policies have changed.

BE CAREFUL WITH DOLLAR RENTAL!

WE WILL NEVER USE DOLLAR RENTAL CAR TO SAVE MONEY AGAIN! We just got back from DW -- we had reserved a rental car from Dollar. We were to pick up a car at the airport and return it at a downtown disney hotel. That worked GREAT for our planning as to save time -- we could catch a bus from downtown disney to our hotel. Well, eventhough Dollar had our home phone number, our home email address, and our home mailing address........they didn't notify us that they were CLOSING the Dollar office at Downtown Disney. So we landed in Orlando, picked up our rental car.....and then they told us. Yes, they had known for weeks and refused to answer us when we asked why they didn't notify us. So we couldn't return the car at Downtown Disney. Had to drive a LONG, LONG way and return it on International Drive. We also had reserved to pick up a car at Downtown Disney eight days later.......of course, they hadn't notified us that we couldn't. They had accepted our reservations just fine.......never mentioned that the Dollar location was CLOSED. So, it took several hours out of our trip to make arrangements to travel to drop off and pick up our rental car. They just said there were too many reservations to have contacted us. They refused to bring the car to our hotel. How many others had problems with Dollar? I know we won't rent with them again no matter how good the rate is. And neither of our two times did they actually have the size of car that we have reserved a month ago. We were VERY disappointed with them. Now on our charge card, they charged us for two days when we had the car six hours only. Go figure........

Grumpy's Gal, I'd read about your experience. I can't say that I blame you for never wanting to rent from Dollar again! I would be sending e-mails and snail mails to everyone I could contact in the company to complain about the poor customer service.

We did have a good experience when we rented from them in September. No problems and we got a good rate. Ours is a fairly simple reservation returning the car back to MCO.

Sorry about your experience!

Thanks for the link!

I was almost disappointed today that my rate didn't drop again...it's dropped significantly a few days in a row!!! LOL!!!

I checked today and my rate dropped again! Almost $17 saved today, so almost $55 in two days! Wow, pretty soon they're going to pay me to take the car off the lot! ;)

I can't believe my eyes!!!!! My rate dropped ANOTHER $23 today on Dollar! My original ressie was $450, and my current total for a two-week minivan is $320!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, that is including taxes!!!!!

By the time I get there in two weeks, maybe they'll just give me the pink slip! LOL!!

Nothing for me today. I'd been making all this harder on myself by making a new ressie and then cancelling the old, but I just figured out (payed attention  ) that I can just modify my existing ressie. Duh! :teeth: Thought I'd mention it just in case someone else doesn't realize.

Mine dropped too....we are down a total of $50...whoppie!!

I have a 9 day minivan rental with Dollar and my rate is $387 :(
I just tried the MAG code and it says

"The selected location does not participate in this promotion or account."

I was never happy with this rate but it has been the cheapest I've found. I'm using the KISS3 code :(

My dates are 11/26-12/5. Is there a way for anyone to help me?
Pick up at 11:15 am, drop off 6:00 am.
Thanks.
