Some great rates out there with the MAG discount.
We recently made a decision to fly rather than drive. Flight is booked, got a great deal on it (ATA $783 r/t from chicago for 5).
Now come booking of a rental car. I think Dollar seems to be the most reasonable of the MCO on site rental car sompanies. Our flight arrives at 10:52PM (I'm working the day of the flight!), so I think an on-site rental would be our best choice for transporation. As a matter of fact our res @ the Contemporary is for one day after arrival, we may stay elsewhere for the first night, so I think the rental is definitly in the cards.
My question is regarding the vehicle type. I obviously should not book a smaller vehicle than can accomodate our family and luggage, as I cannot count on upgrade, only hope for it (they are fairty common from my understanding).
There are 5 of us, the kids are 9, 8 & 5. We are not heavy packers, nor light packers. 9 nights in Orlando. Trying to figure out if an intermediate would work (hope and pray for an upgrade). Push come to shove, I think we would fit fine in an intermediate. I've been in the car business for years, and based on experience, don't imagine it would be a big deal either way. If I changed my mind at the counter, after not being able to fit my family in an intermediate, would they charge me a lot more, since I am more or less captive now? The difference for a full size is over $50.00 for the rental period.
Any thougths or input would be appreciated.
