Hulagirl, I've been playing with dates, airports, airlines, everything I could think of LOL! I'm in NYC and was willing to drive to 2 1/2 hours to Albany to get the great SW airfare! But checking airline websites has become an obsessive hobby for me ever since planning this trip, so I'll keep trying! Thanks!

I'm in NYC and was willing to drive to 2 1/2 hours to Albany to get the great SW airfare!

Did you try that discount plane out of NYC? I'm having a senior moment, or I would tell you the name. They started a sale today too (don't know your dates..so it might not help)...I went looking for my son. They were cheaper than SW.

It was a safe time for SW to have a sale to Orlando..they are sure pretty booked up LOL.

Hard to believe this time last year, we had several flights booked on SE for their 30th anniveresary, and they were only $30 each way!

DMRick, I would love to fly JetBlue, but for my dates, they are surely not a discount airline LOL! Thery're having a $69 each way sale, but for my dates, the prices are $224 going and $134 coming back! I even played with a few days before and after, but no luck. It's amazing how air fares can differ so extremely.
I'm not giving up, however! I'm going to find a decent airfare! I still have time, leaving June 29th and returning July 5th.

Aisling, good luck trying to find a decent fare for those dates. When you get that close to a major holiday like July 4th, all bets are off when it comes to airfares. I hope it works out for you.

How many of you are there? The reason I ask is because Airtran has a flight out of LaGuardia that is 71$ one way (172$ RT) but if there are more than 2 of you, it goes up to 109$ one way. I checked your exact dates and the sale fare is available but you better jump on it quick! Your travel dates are weekend and holiday which can be challenging times to find reasonable airfare. Don't wait too much longer, okay?

I think you might be right, that I might be pushing it to the limit by waiting too long. I know I've got to make a move!

Aisling - a few posts down is one about Southeast Air flying from Newburgh, NY -> Sanford/Orlando $59 each way during summer. Don't know much about this airline, but may be worth checking out.
