Check-in process question - hopefully quick!

I know I've read the answer to this question on this board, but since the search function is disabled, here I go...

When we arrive at the terminal, I'm planning to drop off my DH with our luggage, and then I'll return the rental car to Avis and take the shuttle back to the terminal. While I'm gone, can my DH check both of us in, and then get into the boarding line, or will I have to check myself in when I get there? Even if I have to check in later, can he check in and get in the boarding line right away?

Thanks for the help! This should help me figure out when we should leave our hotel near MCO. I can't believe we'll be on the ship in less than 36 days!

You will need to check yourself in as they will verify your I.D.
Not sure if you can check in without the whole party present.

This is pretty obvious but, if you drop off the family and return the car (or park in the lot), make sure to bring photo id with you. You will need to show your photo id and they will verify you are on the manifest before they will let you back to the terminal.
