Check in on non-computer days could be an issue.

We checked in on Dec. 1st, and they had no computer systems on that day because of the upgrades. I knew that would be the case, but I think it does cause a miriade of "issues" for the resort beyond just the check in process.

In fact, the check in process went well, because they had a full staff around to handle it with the lack of a computer system. The issues we have had beyond that check in are probably a direct result of that computer issue though. First of all, they had no request for us, so my request for 45 or 46 buildings was ignored. Secondly, housekeeping had no idea there was anyone checking into our room on the 1st, so we didn't get Trash and Towel. I called that evening to request towels, since we hadn't gotten our service. Housekeeping had no record of us being in that unit. They thought we were in building 46. Hmmmm...I wish!!!!! Okay, so that means I probably needed to check at the front desk. On our way out the next morning, I stopped at HH and checked to make sure they had us registered in the correct room there. They had it right, so I just commented that we didn't get our T&T but that I had asked for and received fresh towels.

Nothing happened to really ruin our vacation, but I'm quite sure that one day of no computers was the issue. I sure hope I don't have to check in on a non-computer day again!

I'm glad to see that you only had minor issues with your "non-computer day" check in.

December 15th is the only day in the near future where a non-computer check in may happen. :confused3

It doesn't sound like they planned very well for the manual information availability for Dec 1. I guess I can see them not worrying about requests, since they are "just requests" anyway, but not to have a way to communicate to Mousekeeping that someone is in the unit? Not too good. Hopefully yours was more of an oversight than a widespread issue for that day.

I suspect you're right, and for not getting T&T, I've seen mousekeeping plenty of times. It took 3 trips to get my cookware, and then I needed towels, and today I needed bath soap. The good thing is that she left 3 bars! LOL, I love the H2O soap, and you better believe two of those are going home with me!

Seems like the least they can do to ease your check-in issues! ;)

Enjoy your DIS meet tomorrow. :santa:

Granny, we had a nice meet, but it was rather short lived. It was COLD out there, and by Illuminations time, only we two Minnesotans and friend from upstate NY were left to watch!!:lmao:
