It seems that I may have offended some people by joining these boards after winning. I don't want to cause trouble. I have lurked before when I was planning my trip that I had to cancel. I just wanted to get more info about WDW from people that have been there more recently. My last visit was when I was 13. I'm 35 now, so I'm sure things have changed and my memories are foggy. I also wanted to join this board and thread in particular to hear from other winners that might get info as to where we get to stay and how they are choosing when we get to go before I do. Again, sorry if I annoyed anyone.

Don't sweat the trolls and haters. The majority of users are genuinely happy to hear that people on the boards are winners!

I only became an 'official' member of this site after my husband received the email. I had lurked to get vacation info and tips prior to that though. I figured I'd join so I could let you know how it happened for us, since it was different than watkinsme's experience and people had questions. I promise I'm not on here to mess with anyone's heads or try to pull something over on you because honestly - my life is busy enough, I don't have time for that.

Also, we have NO idea how many names have been drawn, nor the date they were drawn. We were notified on the 10th, which as far as I'm concerned coincides with their "on or about" statement. And if the date that was on our letter is an indicator for the date my husbands name was drawn, it was for the week prior to the week of the drawing.

And really, even if you thought they weren't "following their own protocol" would you refuse the trip if your name was drawn because it wasn't drawn on what YOU thought should be the correct date? I bet not.

watkinsme: Thanks for the info! We'll be keeping our eyes out then. Maybe in the next day or so we'll see something that will help make this more real for us. I hope you update when you receive the rest of your info!

I wonder why some of the winners are listed on the site (4 names) and some are not? They are waiting for the paperwork? For those of you named on the site, did you send yours back already?

With potentially 7 winners already (and over 10 if the previous poster is accurate about being the 10th winner) I wonder why the site only lists 4 names?

Just curious...

For the winnder that was for the 10th, what date were you notified if you don't mind me asking?

Hi, everyone. I'm new here but wanted to join after I won the One More Disney Day Sweepstakes! I still can barely believe it! We had planned to take my son to WDW for his 3rd birthday and had it all planned and everything. A financial hardship popped up and we needed to cancel our trip Not a fun thing to have to tell a 3 year old. Anyway, I heard about the sweepstakes, figured I'd give it a shot. I am the "potential winner" for Jan 10th. Now my boy gets his trip back! Yay!

I also wanted to give my input as to how I was notified because it seems that people are interested in that. I was first notified by email. They asked me to respond within 24 hours. After I did that, they emailed me back to say that they would overnight an affidavit for me to fill out, and get notarized. When I did that, I overnighted it back with the supplied label. They said as soon as they get it and verified my info, I would then be the "winner" and they would be in touch within a week. They should have received it today, but I guess they were closed today according to the tracking number. It's killing me to wait for my winning to be legit. I also can't stand not knowing where we'll be staying or when we'll be going! Not that I'm complaining. I'm just not a patient person

Dex, don't leave. That particular poster has been giving all of the winners a hard time. I'm not going to pretend to know why, but I promise, that attitude is not the norm around here. Stay and ask any questions you may have! These boards really helped me when I was planning my first trip in about 20 years. I would say that it probably does have to do with confirming winners. You figure if there was someone they couldn't verify fast enough, or they find out the winner was entering more than once a day, they'd have to go to the next name, which would take extra time to verify. If their offices were closed today, I expect we'll see an increase in winners on the site by the end of the week, if not in the next day or two.

OK. Thanks, everyone. I don't feel like a jerk now. I'm not in control of when they pulled my name, I just know that they did. You have made me feel welcome and I hope that this will be my 1st of many trips with my family. Hopefully I will become a veteran giving people tips one day

It's just the nature of being able to be anonymous and/or not being able to fully articulate oneself in typed words. There are bound to be misunderstandings and bullies (not that anyone was a bully. It's just something that can easily happen).

I would guess the other 3 (of the first batch of 7) didnt reply or didnt see the email-think-it could be in their Junk Email, or were disqualified, or were on vacation and didnt return paperwork in a timely fashion.
There is nowhere in the rules that say whether or not another winner will be picked if the Original one doest qualify-so maybe there could be more winners for the earlier drawings!

Limit of one prize per person/Cell/Address for all 60 Daily Sweepstakes. No more than three (3) alternate winners will be selected for each Daily Sweepstakes. The decision of the Administrator shall be final and binding.

And... just to stir the pot... look at that wording again. Limit of one prize per person/Cell/Address for all 60 Daily Sweepstakes.

Since we have already deduced that "address" equals "e-mail address", to me it indicates that a 2nd person in the same household could potentially be a winner as well as the first person. (ie, husband wins on day 5 and wife wins on day 32) As long as they each used their own cell or e-mail address to enter. Interesting, isn't it?

My letter from them said they would choose an alternate if I didn't return the form or if I didn't call or email them to let them know it would be late
