Hi, everyone. I'm new here but wanted to join after I won the One More Disney Day Sweepstakes! I still can barely believe it! We had planned to take my son to WDW for his 3rd birthday and had it all planned and everything. A financial hardship popped up and we needed to cancel our trip Not a fun thing to have to tell a 3 year old. Anyway, I heard about the sweepstakes, figured I'd give it a shot. I am the "potential winner" for Jan 10th. Now my boy gets his trip back! Yay!

I also wanted to give my input as to how I was notified because it seems that people are interested in that. I was first notified by email. They asked me to respond within 24 hours. After I did that, they emailed me back to say that they would overnight an affidavit for me to fill out, and get notarized. When I did that, I overnighted it back with the supplied label. They said as soon as they get it and verified my info, I would then be the "winner" and they would be in touch within a week. They should have received it today, but I guess they were closed today according to the tracking number. It's killing me to wait for my winning to be legit. I also can't stand not knowing where we'll be staying or when we'll be going! Not that I'm complaining. I'm just not a patient person

Hi! Congrats to you!! The way you were notified is exactly they way my husband was notified. Ventura Associates received our affidavit on Friday but as you mentioned, they are closed today. Man. If we hadn't just gone through what felt like the longest weekend of our lives, now there's a holiday added to it! Like you, we are SO eager to find out if his win is legit and to get the rest of the paperwork. I either want to be super-excited, or count my losses and move on...

Watkinsme: After you sent your affidavit in, did you hear anything further from VA, or did your name just appear on the list of winners? I keep checking back here for an update from you. I think you are about 2-3 days ahead of me.

I know that if I won a Disney contest and I was not already on the DIS I would start looking up Disney info. It would be very easy to find the DIS after winning.

Be careful, your only allowed to enter 1x per day total - not 1x each way per day.

I heard nothing back - I was waiting on pins and needles until someone said there was a list on the site and my name was there - Mine was received a week ago - and I figure it will be here tomorrow or Wednesday (I can't wait )

FYI - I don't have the time to read all the posts in this thread so this may have been brought up elsewhere. Although I can find nothing about it in the official rules, it appears that the daily cutoff is midnight EST.

I have been doing my texts daily, receiving a confirmation each time. On Saturday, I forgot until I was climbing into bed at 10:07pm MST. On Sunday afternoon, when I went to submit my text entry, I received a "we're sorry, you can only enter 1x daily..." text.

Just a heads up.

Oh, and nice forum, very helpful in my Disney 2012 planning, probably won't hear from me much, I'm more of a lurker and researcher type of guy.

Dexmom, you didn't annoy anyone. There are just people who are sore losers is all. With all their negativity I doubt they'll ever win anything.

That's how I found DIS. Booked a trip first, and THEN started researching. First couple of searches lead me to DIS.

Congrats!!! Please, do not worry about it. You haven't offended anyone. For some reason there's one or two (more?) people that seem to think others who have reported wins could not have really won. Just ignore them, stay, pour a drink and browse DIS for great information on planning your trip! And otherwise have fun!
