This morning I logged in to the Disney blog to read about that delicious sounding 24-layer cake served only in DL and to comment that it should be available in WDW too. Then I went from there to the main Disney page, clicked on the promo for One More Disney Day, and clicked to enter and immediately I received a confirmation message. So maybe instead of going to the promo first, people should try logging in somewhere else on the Disney site and then go to the promo and enter.

I was automatically entered too when I clicked on the entry link. I didn't go anywhere else first though.

Just remember, you win, you will be paying taxes on the ARV of the prize...

Also, why wouldnt the Deluxes be included? I have won 2 trips from Disney, both were deluxe, I got to choose which resort!

Something I have always wondered about. Being Canadian we do not pay taxes on Lottery winnings or contests. Would we have to pay the American tax on this if I should happen to win?

Anyone with experience on this? Just need to budget for my upcomming win!!:worship:

I would not make assumption that select resorts means moderates. I enter a lot of contests and in the past when someone has won a trip directly from Disney or a Disney affiliates company (i.e. ESPN, ABC), they were given their choice of properties on resort premises and always chose a deluxe property.

Ive won a disney trip once before and we werent given a choice. We were set up at Beach Club (and we were totally blown away by it!!) MY husband and I kept looking at each other and kept saying how we would never have this opportunity to do beach club again in a million years.

When they first set us up I thought they were setting us up in in the caribbean beach resort and we were excited THEN....imagine our surprise when we were told beach club!:thumbsup2

I've been getting nothing but "communication errors" since this contest started. I'm using Safari. Everything else on the Disney website works fine. This contest stinks. I can't even enter.

Have you tried a text entry? Make sure DISNEYDAY is all in caps.

So I cannot enter on line as it keeps saying that an error has occured. So, I tried to text and it replied back saying that my text was not a valid text and to try again???
Why won't it let me enter? It says the contest is open to Canadians.

The strange thing is that we use Firefox on BOTH computers (laptop and PC). The PC has no problems at all but the laptop can't seem to "jive" with the disaster area that is the Disney website.

Ah well...at least the entries are in. One for me and one for DH.

I have been entering without using caps and get the response that says "Congrats, you're entered for a chance to win One More Disney Day..."

so I don't think it is case sensitive...

Such inconsistency! There was someone who couldn't get their entry to go through until they used all caps. Geesh, Disney has got to get their IT department in order.

I think the title of this thread can now officially be changed to "Check in here if you tried to enter to win a OMDD trip!". ;)

So are the first draws all being held on the 11th or are they daily and naes released on the 11th? I can't make sense of what I am reading. I htought they draw them daily and person will be notified but then on here I read that they are held on one day per week.

I was able to enter on the 1st and then again today. Couldn't get in yesterday to enter. On Sunday I could get Firefox to accept the entry, but since then I have had no luck. This morning I downloaded Chrome and I got the entry to go through.

So I don't think it has anything to do with being Canadian. I think it is just the Disney website being about the worst designed website for a large corporation that I have ever seen.

I think we should all get bonus entries just for all the time we have spent trying to get our entries to be accepted. :)

I have been entering daily and have gotten a confirmation everytime, the first time I have tried. I have Bell as a server and am using Google. Maybe you should try changing your password on the WDW site. I did that in October, so my info would remain current when I purchased my AP. Seems to be working for me! :confused3

Here, I copied this from the official rules page under #6 Procedures:

Dates below are each "on or about."

For the 7 Daily Sweepstakes for January 1-7: 7 Daily Drawings on January 11, 2012.

For the 7 Daily Sweepstakes for January 8-14: 7 Daily Drawings on January 18, 2012.

For the 7 Daily Sweepstakes for January 15-21: 7 Daily Drawings on January 25, 2012.

For the 7 Daily Sweepstakes for January 22-28: 7 Daily Drawings on February 1, 2012.

For the 7 Daily Sweepstakes for January 29-February 4: 7 Daily Drawings on February 8, 2012.

For the 7 Daily Sweepstakes for February 5-11: 7 Daily Drawings on February 15, 2012.

For the 7 Daily Sweepstakes for February 12-18: 7 Daily Drawings on February 22, 2012.

For the 7 Daily Sweepstakes for February 19-25: 7 Daily Drawings on February 29, 2012.

For the 4 Daily Sweepstakes for February 26-29: 4 Daily Drawings on March 5, 2012.

Looks like they will do a drawing for all 7 days of the week on ONE single day just after that week ends:

Meaning they will do a drawing from all the Jan 1 entries on the 11th, as well as the entries from jan 2, then 3, then 4 and so on.

It looks like the draws for the first week will happen on the 11th with each winner selected from the entries on a given day. That makes sense because usually in these types of things the company will hire an independent outside firm to handle the actual selection, to remove any possibility of it looking like the winners were "fixed" or cherry-picked. So rather than having that firm actually conducting drawings every day, they run them in small batches. Then notification will happen "on or about" one business day after that week's drawings, so the first winners should be notified on the 12th or 13th.

So I don't think it has anything to do with being Canadian. I think it is just the Disney website being about the worst designed website for a large corporation that I have ever seen.

:thumbsup2 It never fails to amaze me that a company as innovative as Disney with the resources they have to work with can't craft a more dependable website with some thought to browser compatibility. It is corporate arrogance at its finest - they know they're offering a unique product and count on the consumer to put up with these tech issues because they can't go elsewhere for what they're hoping to get from Disney. And they're right... Disney's terrible website is the only reason I even have IE on my computer.
