Cheapest but clean/safe hotel by disneyland?

Stanford inn and suites is amazing and I have never seen a better priced hotel in the area.

I have booked a 2 bedroom suite there for $69 per night. If you only wanted a 1 bedroom I have seen them for $40 something. They have a great breakfast of eggs, fruit, cereals, toast, bagels, make your own waffles, yoghurt and other stuff I can't remember. There is a great pool and jacuzzi. The ART stops right out the front and the parking is free.

I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Did you just book through the hotel? Is it close to the end of the ART route like motel 6??

Where is the best place to buy ART passes? If its 5 a day a person and i have 4 people... Isnt it about the same as parking at DL?

I buy the ART pass at Motel 6 reception. The first use on the bus validates it.
The ART buses are right outside Disney Plaza, you can see the bag check from the drop off point

Parking at Disney is $17 per day. You need to get a shuttle from the parking structure to Downtown Disney and then another 5 minute walk through Downtown Disney to bag check

if traveling by car to Motel 6, bring extra blankets, rug for marble floor bathroom, microwave, ice chest and a couple of folding tables...and they have been short on towels, so extra towels if needed

wow, really ??? Ive stayed at Motel 6 twice, never needed extra blankets or towels. I always travel with flipflops so the floor doesn't bother me. There is a microwave in the lobby which I have never used. I leave the hotel around 9am and get back around midnight, so I just sleep and shower and need someone to keep my luggage. I guess maybe if you have a car its different but I would never bring a microwave or folding tables on holiday...

The only time I needed an extra blanket, they brought me one. There have always been enough towels. Not sure why I would need tables or ice chests.

sometimes I think there is look down your nose, oh no I would never stay there attitude when it comes to Motel 6. I have stayed at numerous motels 6's in California over the last 10 years. To me I dont see the issue, its a cheap, basic no frills chain and for staying in Anaheim for the Disney Parks, where you spend the minimum amount of time at the hotel its perfect. Compared to a budget hotel chain I use in London for a higher price, Motel 6 has far bigger rooms in a much nicer building!

....her post indicates small children and these are suggestion also for any lurkers looking for a better stay at Motel 6. I stay there all the time when traveling with 3 other guests and friends of my son. two to a bed, so not enough blankets for the cocooning that comes from "we can't touch". Motel 6 bedding is thin and is designed to be a very clean product. The sink is separate from the shower and the marble like tile floors become slippery and cold, so a thick rug would bring comfort to bare feet. The folding tables allow for children to play, place toys or eat snacks when returning from the resort to rest, nap and fuel up for the evening. also great for setting luggage as there is no furniture but shelves/cubby holes for clothes. Also, the floor is faux bamboo, so if kids need to play on the floor, a throw blanket or rug. Microwave saves cost and is great for immediate use as oppose to going to the very tiny lobby. Ice chests allow for cold drinks. As for towels and like, there has never been enough, must be a streak that I need to keep tabs on. But non of this prevents me from Motel 6, it is a great value. But I will continue to bring the microwave, blankets and rug.......20 year olds tend to not play with their toys on the floor or need a table for toys.......and they don't eat breakfast....so the sink suffices for my oatmeal and breakfast burritos.

I'm not sure if you were asking me or not but I'll answer. I did book Stanford directly over the phone with them, yes. The ART stops right out the front. You can also buy ART passes in the lobby of the hotel.

Hope that helps.

Riviera on Harbor (just across Cheesecake Factory @ Gardenwalk) is very basic but clean and fairly cheap

We might have stayed at this one. We stayed at one of the very cheap, older hotels in that area. These hotels are mostly family owned. The owner was very nice. They allowed my MIL to park her car there for the day too, even though she wasn't staying the night. The beds were not comfortable, and we decided we would pay a little more to stay somewhere nicer next time. But honestly the place was clean and fine.

I just looked up dates for this hotel and I wasn't finding those rates. It was and average of $120 for a suite. Not a bad deal, but it is quite a ways from the park. However, I recently looked up dates for the Quality Inn I suggested and I also wasn't finding the low rates. I'm not sure if the prices are just getting higher, or if I'm looking at the wrong time.

We just got back from a stay at the Super 8 on Katella (the one near DL, not the one on DL Drive). This was a "budget" trip for me this time. I booked 3 nights through Travelocity (using Ebates as well) for $230.00. The hotel was about a 3/4 mile walk. ART stops there if you want to use it...we always walked though without any issues (2 females) or feeling unsafe. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay there again. The rate also includes free parking and a free continental breakfast.

Check on hotwire and use betterbidding.com to see what hotel it will be. I got the Best Western Stovall which is an easy walk for $83 a night for the weekend of Halloween.

That's good to hear. We have a trip booked next month and staying at this Super 8 as well. Saw similar reviews to yours about this place so hoping we will like it too. I'd rather spend the extra money that would've been used for a nicer hotel for DL fun things instead :)

I don't know if they are getting more expensive or not. The last booking I made for Stanford inn was for Jan/feb 2016, this is the booking I got for $69 a night. I also book quite a way in advance, so maybe that's the reason I always find a great deal.

IMO, $120 is still good for Stanford. The room and all the added extras are definitely worth it. Yes, it's quite a ways away but ART is my friend and for someone who would rather spend my money on souvenirs and food, rather than fancy accommodation, it's perfect.
