I have convinced my DD of all the money we can save by renting a car to drive to Disney next year instead of flying. She was concerned that her DD and DS would not be able to handle the trip. After I assured her that we would stop alot and visit some neat sites along the way she relented.
I have done a bit of preliminary searching on the net and seems there are quite a few good car rental deals out there.
I have found Avis is the cheapest. Says it's unlimited mileage(which would be great!!)but not sure if it includes going into the US or just in ONtario. Any others found good deals on rental vehicles.

Yes, but I have a friend in the business who gives me the deals. We got a van for $30/day unlimited for 17 days.:D

Hi Marilyn:
That does sound like a very good deal. I think mine works out to about 50/day all taxes included and unlimited mileage(assuming the unlimited part extends to the US.)
Nice to have connections!!LOL

I recently checked into this for a friend - she used a rental in Aug and the only one that gave unlimited mileage was Avis. Give them a call-you can use Entertainment book coupons and some mousesavers codes to rent from Avis in Canada as well (gave her a two car upgrade coupon and entertainment book code-no problem).

Where do I get the Entertainment Book Coupons?
And Avis was the one I found the be the most affordable.
Good that we can use the Mousesaver Codes in Canada too.
I'm not ready to rent yet but I plan the heck out of everything so like to be prepared!!LOL

Avis is the cheapest. I rented from them in August, I paid around $560 (everything included) for a mid size car for 17 days. I checked the website periodically for deals and took the one for Aeroplan members.

So the unlimited mileage did extend to the US?

I rented from Avis Canada and drove to WDW, they didn't even ask where I am driving the car to. Yes, I still have unlimited mileage.

Well thanks. That's one more thing I can cross off my list of things to investigate.
It's going to be a long drive especially with my DGD and DGS
but my brother is going to pick out a few spots of interest for the kids on the way down, to stop at. Last year when we drove down with my Dad we stopped at Corbin, Ky, the birthplace of Kentucky Fried Chicken. My Dad thought it was great. Of course he thought everything was wonderful and would have been just as happy staying at the resort, not even going to the theme parks!! LOL
