Does anyone have any tricks to getting cheap airfare. My sister and I are looking to go down to the World in late June (or July if it would work better). I th ink we finally decided that we wished to fly because our original plan was to drive straight from Columbus, OH to Orlando through the night and then go to the parks the next day (which is a 16 hour drive). Any advice on how to get cheap plane tix? Our only thing is that at least for going down we want to go as early as possible because that is our first day in the parks. thanks for the help.

I've moved this question over to the transportation board as it's a better fit here than on the Theme Parks board.

Thanks,

Knox

best advice I got here was to join travelocity.com fare watcher thing..don't buy tickets there, just use it to watch fares. Then, when you see fares for your city etc..getting low, jump over to that airlines website and start checking. If you watch for a couple weeks you will start getting a feel for what is high or low.
I also found that tinkering and changing the dates by a day can affect pricing..like tuesday and wed seem to be cheaper travel days, but it can vary

if you have southwest near you, you can get cheap flights like $49-$59 one way, then just book one for the way back

You can look on skybus.com. they fly out of columbus. they do not go right to orlando, but pick the pick the closest airport and rent a car. the first 10 seats on every flight are $10 plus fees. my family (4) is flying to la later this month on skybus. the total round trip cost is 144!!! the $10 seats go really fast, so you should sign up on the website to get a notice when they will go on sale, once the $10 seats are gone, the prices gradually go up from there. so even if you don't get $10, you can get $20 or $40.....

is it really cheaper to fly in on skybus? I mean I know the seats are cheaper but what about the car rental? How does that all work?
