Cheap airfare to Cancun?

Hey all.. I was just wondering if anyone knew where I could find cheap airfare to Cancun from Southern CA. We live in San Diego but would be willing to travel to LA if need be if the cost made a difference. We can travel anytime between now and next March. Basically the back story is, my DBF got this great vacation offer because his work partners with a travel company. We booked 6days/5nights at an all inclusive resort for only $500 for the two of us!!! We can also chose from Puerto Vallarta or Playa Del Carmen if the flights will be cheaper. I was just curious if anyone had any experience with flights to these places. If I could keep the airfare down in the $400-$500 range that would be great.. we are planning a couple trips this year and don't want to go too crazy!! Thanks in advance for all your replies!!
