ohhhh,,,that just reminded I just got a coupon book from Target and I need to have a look at what is in it...

She was cleaning..i guess you could call it that...she is picking in all the supplies she has and throwing away broken, dried up etc. stuff...so I guess I will not break the deal..even if I think that is one that should have been done after everything else is done..

Did you know the sock fairy that had stolen all her socks gave them to the closet fairy and she stuffed them in bags in her closet...I guess the fairy was to lazy to carry them to the laundry room...go figure....

Oh and the missing movies...found...I am sure you don't have to guess where those were at...along with my missing hair items,

be careful ladies SOMEONE will come into your house and dump all of your things in your daughters room and try to blame her...poor girl

My older sister messaged me awhile ago. She checked in her luggage at the airport and when she arrived in FL, her Nintendo Wii games were all missing. She brought her Wii Fit with her and she still has the board, but they took the game that came with it. How the heck is she supposed to play it now?? The game is not sold separately.

She's really upset because it's $400 worth of games down the tubes. She said she didn't think it would get stolen.

She talked to the airline and she was told that it was her own fault for not carrying it onto the plane with her. :sad2: :sad2:

:lmao:

That's great that you/she found several missing items! I am missing several tall glasses (I'm just about the only one who uses them since the kids use little plastic character cups and DH prefers these shorter glasses that once belonged to his grandparents. When I'm thirsty, I don't want an 8-oz glass, I want at least 12-oz!

Anyway, there are only like 2 glasses that size left! I know a couple (souvenir glasses from college) were broken, but we had at least 6 that size, what happened to the others??? Guess it's high time I got rid of the mismatched collegeware look and bought a set, huh? :lmao:

Our university used to have this Wild Boar Feast every winter quarter. Kids would dress up in Hawaiian wear, the dining hall was decorated as well, and they'd bring out a big cooked pig with all kinds of fixings. It was awesome, and something everyone looked forward to (because lord knows there wasn't much else on those cold, dark winters!) Anyway, so I had some Wild Boar glasses from my first tour of college ('84 - '86), and DH and I both had a few from the '90s. And I think there's only one left, from March 7, 1985. (It's dated, and has a hairy boar's face on it.) :rotfl:

Yeah, I could see that one coming. They always tell you not to put an valuables in checked luggage.

I am sure this is due to fraud; they have no way to know what you had in your bag, so if they didn't have that policy, people would claim they had all kinds of expensive things in the bag stolen.

By the way, my little monkey did well in his swim class. He was a little nervous at first, but the instructor is an older gal and seems very laid back and gentle, so he calmed right down.

She took each child one at a time into the water, first holding their wrists while they tightened up their arms to keep their heads above water. I saw her talking to them as she sort of swirled them around a bit; then they'd stop and put their chins in the water and blow bubbles; they'd put their ears in the water one by one, and then she'd float them on their backs.

When DS4 sat back down on the side of the pool I could hear him making his little happy noise (it's sort of between a squeal and a grunt :lmao: ) and he ws just vibrating with excitement! He finally noticed us across the pool and got this huge smile on his face, but gave a subtle little wave rather than his usual BIG WAVE and shout of "HIIIIII, MAMA!" :rotfl:

After that he'd peek over every now and then to see if we were still there, and give that little wave, it was so cute! :goodvibes

I think swim class is a hit! :cool1:

pix, what airline was she on??? when she checked her bag did she take insurance out on it?

The bribe did not work. He cried and did not do his backstroke on his back. He did however swim farther doing freestyle than he ever had. He got out and said he still wanted the toy. I said "good thing we have Monday to try this again then" So no toy today but the bribe still stands.

this boy has trust issues. :confused3 Its not like we have abondoned him or left him hanging any time in his life but he thinks everyone will let him die! :lmao:

Awww....sorry to hear that the bribe didn't work. Hopefully it will work out on Monday.

Awww!!! That's so cute that he waved at you! :rotfl:

I remember my older sister and I took private swimming lessons at this lady's home. She was really nice and taught us how to blow bubbles (which was fun) and she used to have my sister and I race.

She would had these cute squeaky toys (I think it was a rubber duck and a bear) and she would hook it underneath our shoulder strap and just have us swim with it. :rotfl:

:rotfl: I think we have a sock gremlin who lives in our dryer. Every time we do laundry we always have an orphan sock or two. :rolleyes1

I can top that, Gina. When we were teenagers sharing a room {shudder!} I found a bag of rocks on the floor of our closet. I said, "What the heck is a bag of rocks doing in our closet?!" and was about to toss it, and my sister shrieked, "Those are mine!"

I was  and said, enunciating very clearly of course, "They are rocks!"

She grabbed them out of my hand, shoved them back in the closet and yelled, "Those are MY rocks! And I'm keeping them!"

WTH? There was nothing special that I could tell about those rocks; they weren't gemstones, they weren't tumbled, they weren't colorful or particularly pretty or well shaped... Seriously, it was a bag of plain, ordinary rocks! :confused3
One day, a few years ago I was helping Kaitlyn clean her room. One of her drawers was full of empty deoderant containers. I asked what in the world are you saving these for. Her reply....."I don't know, but don't throw them out. Huh???" :confused3 Are you kidding?? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Now there was a good round amongst mother and daughter. :headache: So I let her keep them, and a few months later she threw them out.
Go figure. ?? I guess she can be in the Guiness Book of records for collecting deoderant bottles. :scared:

:laughing::laughing: :laughing:

:rotfl: Well duh! I just started playing it again! I haven't played Diablo 2 since high school. It doesn't save your characters. I had a high level Barbarian. My bf had a high level Druid. We used to play online all the time, but if you don't use your account after a certain # of days (I believe it's 30 days) Blizzard deletes it from their server.

Tell your DS to try playing Diablo 2- the cow level. That is crazy! It's this level where a ton of cows with axes come at you. Has he played hell mode? That's fun to do after you beat the game in normal mode. I'm playing w/ the expasion pack.

My bf still has all his characters saved on one of his hard drives. I'm not sure how he did it, but he's my little computer wizard ;)

He says he has a level 25 Necromancer, but not online.

And yep he's played the 'cow" level.. J told me he got killed very quickly there, and N said they have played the "hell" mode at a friend's house but not on his own online , he has been on "nightmare" -- level 26 online in nightmare. .

I'm like umm.. okay whatever you say  because I don't play much games.

hmmm, interesting article on

The 20 Healthiest Foods for Under $1
http://www.divinecaroline.com/article/22145/52070-20-healthiest-foods--1
Oats
Eggs
Kale
Potatoes
Apples
Nuts
Bananas
Garbanzo beans
Broccoli
watermelon
wild rice
beets
butternut squash
whole grain pasta
sardines (erwwwwwwwwww)
spinach
tofu
lowfat milk
pumpkin seeds
coffee (mmmmmmmmm)

Although that bag of 99¢ Cheetos may look like a bargain, knowing that you’re not getting much in the way of nutrition or sustenance makes it seem less like a deal and more like a dupe. Choosing one of these twenty items, or the countless number of similarly nutritious ones, might just stretch that dollar from a snack into a meal.

I like most of the things on the list.. unfortuantely a lot of them are foods hubby can't have on a renal diet, BUT they are going to check his potassium and maybe he can have some of them again now that he does daily dialysis :woohoo:

Morning Hyenas!!!!

It is sooooooooooo hot here!! Yuck and double yuck!! And then yesterday, we got some kind of weird hazy cloud cover, and then it got kind of muggy.:headache:

I am a firm believer in not being around, when kids are getting lessons. You can spy on them, but don't let them see you. It always seems like kids act up for their parents. Or get very distracted by them. But when they're not around, the kids have to buck up, and try to do what the teacher wants. Now after they have accomplished a feat, then I think it is fine to watch again for that one thing, and give them alot of praise.

I also think it depends on the sport or activity, or even the child, and their age. I would think that swimming is probably the most hardest ones of all, like compared to dance. Water is scary, and the kids find that out super quick, after they have choked on it. And sometimes instructors might have to be somewhat mean in order for the kids to learn. I know this sounds harsh....................but I'd rather have them learn how to swim and be water safe, than worrying about their feelings. And if I was an instructor, and there were parents watching every move I made, and worrying about if I was going to make a kid cry, then I probably wouldn't try as hard.

I watched as much as I could of dance, which wasn't much, cuz the door would get shut in our face. :rotfl: But the teacher would let us watch every once in awhile, to let us see their progress. The first dance studio we were at was cool cuz it had a two way window. So you could watch without the kids knowing it. But alas..............................it wasn't that great of a studio, so we switched. After being at the new studio for a few years, I got to watch alot more often............................but then I practically lived there it seemed like. :rolleyes1

Also there is that fine line, of how much a child can do, and how much to push them on. You want them to learn and have fun, but if you push too hard, then it might just back fire. I think that is soooooooooooo easy as parents for us to do. Let's face it...........if someone else's child can do it, then by golly so is mine additude. It's human nature.

I'm going through this right now with Kaitlyn. She has been attending volleyball camp. Everyday, I ask "How are ya doing compared to the others?" She is very anxious, because she wants to make the team in HS. So I guess I am anxious for her too. No duh!! Well it sounds like she is doing good, but come August we will find out, after she tries out. I will cry with her, if she doesn't, cuz I know how much this means to her. :sad1:

Yikes...................enough of my older mothering advice. Take it or leave it with a grain of salt if you please. :flower3:
:thumbsup2 I am so right there with you!

 Bummer! Alex is like that.. It took him a long time to even trust us to hold him in the pool..:confused3 Weird kid. :lmao:

Sooooo... I had a sore throat last night.. It wasnt to bad.. Until I woke up this morning. I knew what it was.. Im not dumb. I waited a bit though. tried to tough it out, you know. So this afternoon I went to the dr. while Alex was in his clinic thing.. Sure enough! I have strep. :headache: LOVELY! So there you go... Strep.. and it hurts.
