Isn't it interesting that men fear their mortality at a much younger age than women? Hubby too-- he keeps saying that men in his family don't live past x age, at that point I whack him up side the head and remind him that
1. he is not an alcoholic
2. he has decent health care
3. he doesn't live in the barrio and beat his wife everyday
Yes he does have the kidney crap to deal with.. but I think the stress of living the way his family does (the family he does not see) plays a big part in length of life.
Anyway, lots of men go thru this stage-- some earlier than others

The boys are watching a PBS cartoon called Word Girl. It's about a girl who is secretly a super hero called (what else) Word Girl. It's very funny, even for adults, as she goes around saving the planet from evil doers and correcting their grammar.

I'm going to ask my GFs if their DHs are also going through this. They're all in their late 30s - early40s... This is the prime time period for a mid-life crisis, isn't it?
