Charleston Suggestions

My parents have a condo in the Wild Dunes resort on the Isle of Palms which is just north of Charleston. I've been going there for the past 10 years, maybe more. You should reconsider the historic stay and look on Isle of Palms or Sullivan's Island. Great laid back beach feel, and just a short drive to the historic area of downtown Charleston.

As for eats.... the Mustard Seed in Mount Pleasant is a fantastic value. It's real chef food at a $15-20 price.

Charleston is one of our favorite places on earth. I agree with the recommendations for 2 Meeting Street. As for restaurants, we love 82 Queen (our current favorite), Magnolia's, Garibaldi's and High Cotton. Go up to Cupcake for a yummy treat. Also, there is a jewelry store on North Market, Dacuba's, that has the most beautiful handmade silver jewelry (think filigree like the gorgeous gates all around Charleston). I bought a pendant last year that depicts the Angel Oak. Also, make sure you have plenty of time to just walk around and take it all in. So beautiful it doesn't seem real. Have a great trip!
