My son will be 11 months when we are in Disney...

His first trip! We are quite excited...

We are trying to decide if we should do a Character Meal with him...

any thoughts?:Pinkbounc :

I think kids of all ages (adults included) love the character meals. You'd be able to get some really cute pictures!

For our son's first b-day we went to lunch at the Crystal Palace. It was fabulous! He really loved the characters and enjoyed participating in the parade around the restaurant.

It might be helpful to pick a character meal with familiar characters. Our son didn't know most of the characters at Chef Mickeys (goofy, donald, chip, dale) and they scared him.

Havce a great time!

We took our DGD to several character meals when she was 4 months old and again when she was two years old. I am sure she has very little recall of the events but she loves to look at all the photos we have of her with the characters. They spent lots of time posing with her and she loved touching their fur.

This year she will be 3 1/2 years old and we have scheduled 4 character meals to share with her. She can hardly wait to eat with Mickey, Pooh and Snow White again. She talks about the past meals like she really remembers being there before. Who knows exactly what small children can retain!?!

Go and have fun. Take lots of photos and make special memories with your child. Have a great time!!! :wave2:

Last Jan my kids were 4, turned 3 there, and 2 weeks shy of 1. The 3 year old and 1 year old were afraid of nearly characters in the parks and didn't think too much of the characters at CRT but they both LOVED the characters at CP and the food was great too for both kids and adults. My DD tried to eat Tigger and was high 5ing him. And after that meal (my DS's 3rd birthday party) my DS was brave enough to have his photo taken with all the characters we met in the parks unfortunately it was our last day. I plan on doing CP earlier in the trip next time.

I would say Crystal Palace with Pooh and gang. We liked the Garden Grill at Epcot with Mickey better, but for such a young child I think the Pooh characters would be great because they are so brightly colored.

Our ds's first character meal was for his first birthday - he loved it! I was worried he would be afraid because Santa and the Easter Bunny scared him to death but he loved it. He loved Goofy the best but the Pooh characters we a bit hit too. It's interesting but it seems like a lot of kids go through stages of things scaring them and not. My neice is 3 and the characters scare her to death so it just depends on the child too.
Have fun! You will get some precious pictures that you will treasure forever!
