As part of our package, we received two complimentary passes to a character breakfast valid at Goofy's Kitchen at the DH or Storyteller's Cafe at GC or PCH Grill at PPH. We are first timers to Disneyland. We both love Disney and we both love food. You, the experts tell me which one we should choose.

travelbug24,

If your traveling with kids, I'd definately do Goofy's Kithchen. It's actually a brunch with breakfast & lunch items. This meal has the most characters and is fun & loud. (Characters: Always Goofy. We also had Jasmine, Baloo, Turk, Mad Hatter and Chip & Dale in the front).

If it's for 2 adults, I'd definately go to Storytellers Cafe. The food selection is the best breakfast buffet I've tasted. They had made to order omeletes, Lox & bagels, eggs benedict, asparagus, chicken sausage, all the regular breakfast fare and much more. The characters stay at the front to greet guest and every 1/2 or so they have a parade through the restuarant with the kids. It's alot quieter than goofy's kitchen, but my kids really enjoyed the food. (Characters: Always Chip & Dale plus a few others we also had Pluto & Donald).

I've never eaten at PCH Grill, but I heard it's a regular breakfast but they include some traditional asian fare.

my daughter and i will be making our first trip to disneyland the beginning of april and we are also interested in any opinions regarding character meals...i am leaning towards goofy's kitchen for breakfast as well because i have heard that alice in wonderland sometimes appears there...alice is someone we get our picture with each and everytime we visit wdw and would like to include the disneyland alice in our collection...can anyone confirm that she is a regular at goofy's kitchen for breakfast???
thanx...

I don't think Alice is a regular at Goofy's Kitchen, but she might be there. I've seen Mad Hatter there a couple of times. The only real regulars seem to be Goofy and Pluto. The others vary.

I was recently at PPH Grill at breakfast and didn't like it nearly as much as Goofy's. We ordered off the menu so can't comment on the food, but there are only three characters, Minnie, Daisy and Max. Goofy's has many more. However, if you have children that are overwhelmed by characters PPH could be good.

You know what? Just reading the replies, got me so excited. I still could not decide but decided to eat at ALL three. This way, when I get back, I can answer a few questions myself for those first timers needing answers!

By the way, I do not know who posted how to get online tickets to TV tapings, but I want to say thank you, we have tickets for a taping of King of Queens! Debbie

For sunking:
We've seen Alice several times at Goofy's Kitchen. But it's hard to say who will be there at any given time. On our first few trips, we saw Belle and Jasmine almost every time. On our last trip, we did not see them at all. We did see Alice for both meals on our last trip, though.

For travelbug24:
FYI, check your meal passes carefully to see what they are for. We had some recently, and there was very fine print that stated "maximum value of [some amount, I don't remember]". Whatever the amount was, that's how much was deducted from the meal price, we paid the rest. So if money is an issue, don't assume you're getting a free meal and then go to the most expensive place - unless you've checked carefully and it's definitely for a free meal with no restrictions.

Thanks Di$neyDad I will look at the fine print. This time, money is not an issue (family won't be with me). This trip is all about me and I am spoiling me!

When you get there ask where you can find Alice. We have seen her many times in DL on mainstreet near the shops to the right (side you get strollers on). If you ask at guest services they should know where she is supposed to be and around when she will be there. Keep asking diff. CM's until you find your answer.
