We have never done character dining before but I think I've narrowed it down to doing breakfast at both Crystal Palace and the Ohana one. Can anyone give me some opinions on these? Does anyone know for sure which characters are at the Ohana one? I've heard just Lilo & Stitch and then I've heard Mickey and Pluto are also there. If anyone has pictures or where to point me for more info on these two I'd really appreciate it. THANKS in advance.

We've only done Ohana's, and had Mickey, Pluto, Lilo, and Stitch.
There was much dancing...

The charator meals are alot of fun, but I do feel like you are so busy, that you miss out on eating!

We have a reservation for Monday morning the 21st of April at Ohana, cant wait. My son loooooovvvves lilo and stitch. Thanks for the pics. HOw is the food?

We have reservations for both of these breakfasts for our trip in March, so I'm very interested in what people have to say as well. Good post!! popcorn::

We have done Crystal Palace and had a great time. If possible get reservations before the park opens so that way you can take some pictures on main street without crowds and have a head start on the rest of the crowd when you leave.

Pooh, Piglet, Tigger and Eeyore were there. They have a parade around the restaurant where the kids participate every 15-20 minutes. The characters spend a decent amount of time at your table when they stop by and interact with you/your kids very well. You will have plenty of time to take pictures of each character and they all will sign autographs. The wait staff was also very nice and accomodating. If you are celebrating something, let them know when you make the reservation. They brought a birthday cupcake out for our son after we finished eating breakfast.

The food is pretty good. They have a wide variety of breakfast foods including mickey shaped waffles.

If I missed anything, or you have questions , let me know.

Chris

We have been to CP breakfast and really enjoyed it. The food was very good and the characters and parade were a lot of fun. We would go back. Just be careful that you don't miss a character - - it is a big room and it will take quite a long time for them to get back to you. Characters as mentioned previously are Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore. My DD is a little shy about doing things where people will look at her (like the parade) so Eeyore took her hand and walked the whole parade route with her.

I have not been to Ohanas.

We also really enjoyed breakfast at Tusker House in AK. Characters there are Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Daisy.

Have fun!

The food was very good- regular breakfast food- scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, fruit (can't remember if there were waffles), and juice. Just felt like I couldn't enjoy the meal, since you were constantly watching for characters, taking pictures, and dancing around the room.;) The food is served family style, and sometimes it was hard to find our waiter, to get refills. I'd do Ohana again, it was fun.

Loved Ohana! We had an early flight so started our trip with a late breakfast at Ohana and it was perfect. Loved the food!!!!!!

We love the CP. We try to eat there at least once during our vacations, for any meal. Breakfast was your typical American big breakfast with eggs, sausage, bacon, Mickey waffles, etc. All the characters are there and really do interact with you a lot. Even if you are just dining as adults, as we did for the last time 2 summers ago, they joke around and stay for photos. They do take a long time to come back around if you miss them, but just stay a little longer and eat more! They sing a fun 100 acre wood song and have the kids do a follow the leader parade with little flags around the restaurant. DH got roped into doing it alone with all the other kids! :rotfl:

O'Hana was also a lot of fun. Lilo and Stitch came together and then Mickey and Pluto came too. They also had a follow the leader parade where the kids get to play instruments and conga around the room. DS loved this part! The food was really good and was pretty much the same as CP except it was family style. We never ran out of anything and the staff was very attentive (there were 17 of us, so it was busy!). Eggs, potatoes with onion, sausage, bacon and really good bread selection. Juice and milk were on the table. They just keep bringing it until you say that's enough!

I am really enjoying these responses as well.:thumbsup2 We plan on going to both of these ourselves, on our next trip. Ohana looks like a blast.
We did a few character meals on our last trip, so here's some info if you or anyone else are interested in any of these later on.

Liberty Tree- "Super"- by far our favorite one, the characters spent ALOT of time with our kids, but sadly :confused3 this one is no longer available, we are still going back for the food though, my DH couldn't get enough.

Lunch at Cinderella's Castle- I had to trade my Left Arm for these reservations, lol, but to see the look on my little Cinderella's face princess: when she finally met her idol was priceless. The food was not very good, but DDs had fun, some boys there looked like they wished they were somewhere else though :rolleyes1 . This was a one time only deal, I wouldn't go back. (We are going to try the Storybook Dinner @ Epcot next time)

Donald's Safari Breakfast @ AK- This one was great, and a definate do again. Very party oriented like Ohana. Lots of dancing, and fun. And the food was wonderful. :thumbsup2

I highly reccommend doing the character meals, it saves alot of time standing in line in the parks for autographs, my kids had a ton of autograps, and we only stood in line in the parks around 5 times I guess, hardly any time at all (except for Ariel in the grotto, and we waited forever, but the kids played in the water fountain area, so not a total loss of time). I met some people in line to see Woody and Buzz, who were here from Montana, and nearly all they had done was stand in line for autographs their entire trip, they did not do any character meals, so I highly reccommeded they try to get ressies for one if they could find one open, or plan to do them if they ever came back.

My family loved them!:dance3:

Ive been to Ohanas Crystal Palace & Cape May and the best of all was defo Cape May for character interaction and food :thumbsup2 Ohana comes second ;)

We love CP. Never been to Ohana's but heard great things about it. The advantage of CP is that you are already in the park so as soon as you are done eating, you can hit the rides. I love early breakfasts in the parks!

I'm with Colinsmom, do the breakfast inside the park so you can boogie to the rides as soon as you're done! Definitely get rezzies prior to park officially opening, head start! Food was great at both places and I'd recommend doing both at some point.:thumbsup2

We love to do Ohana's on a non-park day. We get a very late breakfast seating and usually have very few people there so lots of time with the characters. My DD got to lead the parade one time and loved it. It's her favorite. We did CP for lunch one trip, but have decided we really hate to take time away from park time since we usually only go into the parks 2 days each trip.

All of these responses have been wonderful. Thanks to everyone for helping me to feel I made good choices and please keep them coming.

I appreciate it to. Looks like my son will love Ohana. Lilo and stitch is his favorite cartoon to watch everyday (tivo rocks) so seeing them in person at age 3 will be majical for him.
