Changing our minds re: add-on?

I'm assuming that this has been posted somewhere before but I couldn't find it using the search function. We are thinking of doing a BCV add-on directly through Disney and understand that we will likely have to be waitlisted. I have heard that they take your credit card information when adding you to the waitlist. I'm just wondering if Disney will advise you when the waitlist comes through prior to charging your card for the cost of the points. I'm just trying to cover my bases should something come up and we eventually decide not to purchase. Thanks!

I think the thing to do, if you change your mind is to Call your guide and say, we have changed our mind... then they wont keep looking and wont charge your card.

With that said, I think they call you to let you know that there are points available.

We've done 3 add ons at BCV since June. In June, we wanted 100 points, and were willing to take them as they came...first came 75, within just a few days. The 25 came a day or so after that, and I saw that we got them via the members site. I actually gave our guide a call, saying that I see that we got them all, and thank you before she called to say the we got it. Only the deposit was charged initially. She did ask if we wanted to pay the whole amount then, but we went for the full 20-30 days, we called and charged the rest at that time.

In December, we added 40 more and got those within a week as well.

When we added on in August, our guide was very clear that she would not charge our card until she had spoken with us to confirm. Hope this helps.

Maybe it was because we wanted 100 points, and they came 75 and then 25, but our second $500 deposit was charged as soon as the 25 points became available.

Also keep in mind that even an add-on is a real estate purchase. Under Florida law, you have 10 days after you sign a contract to rescind the purchase. So you're covered either way.

I was on the waitlist to purchase BCV pts and my guide also told me that I would be called before my cc was charged. At the same time I was also looking resale and decided to go this route since I had been on the waitlist for a couple of months. At the same time I decided to sign the resale paperwork my waitlist came through and my cc was charged without any call from my guide informing me of my pts. I had Disney credit my cc for the deposit because I couldn't get out of the resale contract.

I was on the waitlist for BCV points (approx 7 months)
And I never received a call.
I found out when I was checking my CC statement.
I thern checked the DVC site and my points were there
