Changing diapers on airplanes

We've flown with DS2 multiple times but the flights were always less than 2 hours and we've been lucky enough (knock on wood) to never need a diaper change while on the airplane. MCO is a 3 hour flight for us so there is a small chance we won't get so lucky. I can change a wet one with him standing up, it's the dirty ones I'm worried about. Do the airplane lavatories have enough room to lie a child down? I make it a point to avoid them so it's been awhile since I've seen one;).

Thanks!

I fly a lot for work and every airplane lav that I've seen (including on small regional jets) have either a fold-down change table or a counter space big enough for changing diapers.

You should be able to change him while he is lying on the closed toilet lid, the lav. door is still folded open, and your own body is perhaps encroaching on the aisle or galley space.

That is the vision I've been having. Hmmm... maybe I'll try one of those 1 day potty training experiments I've seen...

:rotfl:

You can do a standing #2 change, if the child will cooperate. I'm not going to try to describe it, though. :lmao:

We flew all the time with ours (lived in another country from the Grandparents, so we "had" to). We almost always did get lucky.

I hope you don't have to deal with an airplane bathroom change!

I've always had a fold-down changing table in the lavatory on the plane as well. They are small, and unless you're looking for it, you'd never know it was there. :) Usually folds down right over the toilet. Works great...just did it last week on Southwest w/ my 1y/o....please, please, please don't change a dirty diaper at your seat! :rotfl: (Of course, if there is no changing table, do what you have to do! I think the child would be safer laying across the seats than on top of the toilet lid!! :scared1:)
