Just went to the site....and it got a little face lift. I haven't looked around yet to see if anything is new.

I thought you would like to know! :)

I did some market research for Disney about the website a few months back.

It was a fun experience...

Me too! I went for the market research thing too. It was interesting to see how they changed it based on our opinions.

Oh yes, the site is much better...

The reservation screens have been simplified, after selecting the type of cruise you want, it takes you strait to the reservation home page. Whan an improvement!!!

A couple of days ago I went looking for the ship layout and went to the reservations page where it used to be. It's not there anymore (It really didn't make sence to me being there - but I got used to it). It took me a while to find the link to it on the new pages - now it's on the "Onboard" page.

I just went to the disneycruise site and it is different once again from a few days ago. I haven't searched the site over yet but it still seems to be a very nice website.

Another thread is noting that the site now shows what cabins are available - that's a wonderful upgrade!

Keep it up DCL!!

they do show cabins available now! very cool. They list a "best available" and then all others in the same category. Nice!

Oops...

Too bad you can't tell if any of the handicapped accessible staterooms are available. Nor is there any way to request one as there is for booking a room at a Disney resort....

It's great that they are showing cabins but it looks like they are only showing 8 cabins in any category, the "best available" and seven "alternative" choices. I checked several dates and categories and didn't ever see more than 8 choices, although sometimes fewer.

That may be the norm on other sites that show cabins also. I did compare www.cruise.com and DCL on availability for a couple of cruises and the lists are the same.

Yes, it is better, but it is still the WORST reservation engine I have ever seen. It drives me crazy that you can't select by actual date. Generally, I want to go on a particular date and I don't CARE if it is western or eastern. Also, drives me crazy how you have to keep putting in that you want to remove insurance or transfers. And, I change my dates and have to re-enter my passenger info again. Can I tell you how many times I have put in I have 2 adults; 2 children; age 10 and 6?

Actually, the only real change I saw other than the available cabins was the 'continue' button went to yellow.

What else are people seeing? Am I missing something?

They are showing the SPRs as the 'best' when they are available. I suppose that means they are going to be taken up even fast now! I will have to jump on our 2006 cruise as soon as the dates come out.

I called the other day and was told sometime in October the 2006 dates would be out.

When the DCL site lists the cabins that are available do they list all of them or just a set amount of them. I know other sites only list maybe 7 cabins even though there might be more available.

Just wondering!!!

I'm sure all those sites that list cabins only list *some* of the avail cabins. When I booked my first cruise, I was offered a cabin number. I told her I wanted one closer to .... And, the TA called DCL and requested the cabin I wanted. No big deal.

It just lists some of them. You can go to the website and play around with it without having to book a cruise. It is a good way to check on prices and availability (like the cruise I have coming up must be pretty much sold out because no Cat. 11s are available).

I'm with MamaCrush - I looked at the site and couldn't see where to find cabins that were available for a particular cruise. Could someone enlighten me? Thanks.
