Changes to MK Wishes dessert party-Same Day Reservations

Here now and have advanced ADR for tonight. What time should we check in in order to get a good seat. We had to come back this afternoon due to tired kids. Hoping to get in a meet in greet before hand but can not go back to earlier since the kids AND DH are napping lol!!

Get to the Tomorrowland Terrace at least 30 min. before the party starts.

Said another way: Get to the Tomorrowland Terrace at least 90 minutes before Wishes.

Yes you can have your choice. At least that is how it worked for us. We chose the tables. More comfortable for our group. We got there a little after 8:00 and when they let us in about 8:45 We got our choice along the rail. We picked the farthest on the left hand side which was the most centered plus there was no trees blocking our view at that table. Out group was very pleased.

Has anyone who has been recently noticed if they have designated tables for wheelchairs? I know when we did the Frozen dessert party a couple of years ago there were a few tables reserved for wheelchairs. My mom needs to be close to the railing because she is in a wheelchair and can't stand up to see over the crowd. We are doing the dessert party in hopes that she will be able to see Wishes and CTM. Normally there are people standing all around her wheelchair and she has no view at all.

Don't know about the tables, but I have heard that there's no more standing at the railing (the first row of tables have all been pushed right up to the rail), so that should alleviate your mom's problem.

I still cant get anybody to explain to me why this event isnt available the third week of July. It is "greyed out" when I try to make reservations and even the folks at WDW couldn't explain why.

Wishes is also showing up at 9:00 that week instead of its "normal" 10:00 summer start time. Odd.

Yes as long as it is before 24 hours of the reservation unless they have changed the policy since we last went.
CORRECTION - not 24 hours but before 5 days.

Aaaah. So that's why they stopped FP for wishes, to essentially sell the same experience but with a cupcake thrown in.

Yes, I was puzzled also - just when I thought I'd seen Disney's most 'money grabbing' change - another one pops up! They take what is 'included' for any guest that gets a FP and makes it 'exclusive' for 'more' than half of a day's admittance ticket already paid - oh, pardon me, don't want to forget the 'cupcake' thrown in!!

I attended this event on May 14 and I was a little worried before I went based on the recent changes. I am happy to report that the event is now better than it was previously. They begin letting people in the area around 8:45, we got in line at 8:30 and there were around 8 parties in front of us. We were able to choose our table and there was plenty of availability. From what I could tell, there were really no bad tables. The drinks and ice cream are a little more separated from the dessert buffets, which helps with the crowding. I loved the change they made that placed the tables up against the rail so that people can't stand in front of you. You can actually sit at your table and see the fireworks. The same-day reservation people were on the tier above us, but I barely even noticed them. The price of this event doubled from my last visit in May of 2015, but I still feel it was worth the price and will do it again.

So exactly how are the "segregating" the late folks from the early planning folks.....Wristbands? Make the procrastinators shuffle up to the terrace after the eat? Big Scarlet "A" on their forehead?


Cause you know us planners DO NOT want to sit with "THOSE PEOPLE"!
