Changes to MK Wishes dessert party-Same Day Reservations

I couldnt see that area from the Tomorrowland terrace so I am not sure, but there couldnt have been more than a handful of people, because there was almost no one on the upper deck dessert area... I didnt see a single same day person to be honest with you.

I've gone to a few of these pre-price-hike and the area was already quite small where the desserts were. Unless they will set up another area for the same-day people.

We went on 5/4. Yes, an additional area is opened up during desserts for the same day reservations. It's on the second level of tables

I see a table issue here unless the "day guests" are going to be using the tables in the upper level of the balcony area while the pre-booked guests will still get the tablecloth covered seats. If I booked and paid to be there the entire time, got in line to grab a first-come-first-serve table - I sure don't want some shoobie sitting at my table munching cupcakes.

That's exactly what they did...opened the second level for same day ADRs

We did same day ADR on 5/4. I was perfect. We were actually the only same day ADR that day. So they went ahead and put us in the TT seating area for dessert instead of the second level. They still gave us the option of going to Plaza Garden for the show though. I had no perspective to compare the two so I decided we'd go over to the Plaza Garden. It was the best decision. We were the only people in the entire sectioned off space. There could have been quite a few other people and still had plenty of space. In my opinion the view from Plaza Garden is way better than Tomorrowland Terrace. We loved it!!

I just wanted to come back to this thread and post my review. We attended the dessert party on tuesday with the new rules in place. I had attended the party pre-changes (lower price point) several times in the past. In my opinion the party is GREAT now. I was really surprised. First, we headed to the line around 820 for 9pm opening. THere were a couple people ahead of us. By 830 or so the CMs started checking us in. The check in area has been moved to up in the middle of the walkway instead of down on the Tomorrowland side where it used to be. It is staffed much better than before it seems. You get a wristband and a CM greets you and leads you to a table. The CM didnt care if you asked to be seated elsewhere. I ended up at a table in the first corner almost directly in front of the castle, very close to the dessert buffet area. Perfect spot. The tables against the rails seem like a HUGE improvement. THe view was much easier and it was nice to sit and relax. They moved the drink area to the other side of the terrace so the dessert area felt much less crowded. IT appeared that same day reservations had their own buffet up top, if there were any of them... it impacted our experience exactly zero percent. I was expecting to be disappointed but it was great, and i have already booked the hallowishes dessert party for the fall! (PS I didnt really mention the desserts because they are just not an important part of why I book this, though they make my kids happy--- and they seemed fine, a bit more offerings that previously).

Could you choose to sit at a table or the old fast past standing area? I have a reservation but was hoping to see where we would be put before choosing. Then I also plan finding a place near the Hub for the late preshow castle projections. I want to be able to see them up close.

If you do advanced reservations you'll stay at tomorrowland terrace. If you do a same day ADR you move to the Plaza Garden. Same dessert party for both but separate viewing areas.

That had to be magical having the area to yourself. This event was never on my radar since we are not into desserts, and the fireworks are just fireworks to us. I guess I am of the belief that if you see one firework display, you've seen them all. From my time in Pittsburgh, firework displays were common. But after reading this review, I may be interested. I'll have to see how everything else plays out. Having the option to make the call the day of is a great convenience!

I also recall reading that those who had prebooked would have their choice...subject to availability (which sounds like there's plenty!)

Wow that sounds great ! I would rather be in the Plaza Garden for sure! Where did you go to get the tickets?

If this is true I would say the Plaza Garden will become more crowded when everyone figures out the view is better from there.

It depends on how many "same-day" guests they get.
If not too many, the entire group of "pre-booked" guests could decide go out to the Plaza/Hub area and still not fill it.

That's good to know. We have a reservation for the dessert party right now. I'm still wondering if I should keep it or go for the same day. Really the most important reason we have it is to go to the Plaza Garden to view the fireworks. Are you sure they are going to let the people with advance reservations go to the Plaza Garden area if there is room?

Ok I will keep you posted, I just wish I knew if advanced reservations can move to the Plaza Garden area before we go so I can cancel the reservation we have now .

I can not answer for maryj11 but for me I do not have experience with either location. I depend on opinions on these boards which is just that, a personal perception which varies from individual to individual. Having a ADR makes me feel a little secure in the thought I have a seat for my family's comfort but if we like the view from the old FP area I would like that option to choose it. I will not really be able to answer that until we see for ourselves. If I knew I definitely that I could choose either location then that would make me feel more comfortable

Because if the advance reservation gets us into the Plaza Garden we want to keep it. If they can then it would save some time of going to get tickets for same day reservations.
