PrincessInOz: I noticed a change in the status of your trip so I peaked at your TR and read that you were ill. Glad to have you "back" and feeling better:flower3:

Is it starting to get warmer there?

Thanks. I'm left with a lingering cough; but then so is half of Melbourne. It sounds like cough-city here!

Still a little cold but spring is definitely in the air and the gardens. We are having HEAPS of rain in the state of Victoria (where I live). The 12 year drought has finally broken and half the state is flooded. Some parts of the state had over 200 mm of rain in 24 hours (close on 9 inches). Most of the state got 100 mm of rain in 24 hours over the weekend. This comes on top of a wet winter. The rain was predicted; so most of the farmers got their livestock to higher ground. More rain expected on Thursday; so more floods to come.
It only seems like 3 months ago when our dams were at 29% capacity. In 3 months, we've gone from 29% to 43% and rising. Our rivers are all flowing again and everyone is happy; despite the flooding.

That is a deluge:umbrella:. You'll have quite the blooming spring and I would guess, no water restrictions anymore. Is the cough allergy-related due to a mold that has developed from all the rain?

Today is "Labor Day" in the US or the "unofficial last day of summer". It doesn't really "feel" like a holiday for me since I'm a stay-at-home mom and since DH is in Afghanistan, he has to work anyway. DD11 goes back to school tomorrow and will be riding a bus for the first time and will have a locker. Ah, the joys of 7th grade:upsidedow

We're still on Stage 2 water restrictions. Outdoor use restricted to bucket washing the car, watering the garden every other day and no hosing down the driveway.

Cough is due to the cold. If it were allergy related, I'd be dosing up. But there's nothing to do except wait for the sunshine and warm weather to come by.

Not just a blooming spring - but I've heard FROGS  in the local parks for the first time in about 5 years. The park dams/lakes have water in them! Birds are nesting and we're expecting a bumper number of indigenous animals to be breeding this year! :thumbsup2

Wow, lots has been happening. We're back...Glacier NP is fabulous. Nature at it's wonderous best, and suprising...temps ranged fro 29F to in the 70s! We had sun, rain, snow, and mostly gorgeous sunshine.

Princess...glad to hear the drought in your area is lifting. This summer we've hosted 3 frogs in our little goldfish pond, and they are a joy to see!
