School starts the day after Labor Day....new Michigan law to "protect" tourist season I guess. Of course now we go through most of June!!

My sons are all out of school. My main subbing jobs are middle school. It's my favorite age to teach. Good luck to your DD.

Yep, my DD went until the last week of June. When I grew-up in Indiana, we got out in May. I did my student teaching in middle school and loved that grade level, too. Not too young, not too old, just right...

Good luck with your subbing. You know you'll be getting those calls really soon. And, congratulations on getting all your sons through school

I haven't taught since DD was born. I used to teach English 6-12 in a few states since DH was in the Air Force. How about you? DH is from Highland Park and my MIL still lives in Chicago.

You should be very proud of yourself for raising 4 children. YOU are their greatest teacher. Do you feel like time goes by faster as your kids get older?

Do you have any UK grads in the family? IU and UK were always big rivals. (I grew-up in Bloomington and went to IU.)

If I can't use FROST then you can't use STORK.

I was actually neighbors with the Knights (though he lived further down our road). He wasn't very friendly - big surprise! I'm close in age (42) to his youngest son, Pat who I believe took over from his dad and is coaching at TT now. I was going to IU and got married the last year they won the NCAA title, 1987. Sorry if this is TMI!

Cool, living near a big name coach, even if he wasn't that neighborly!! I'm surrounded by coaches around here as I live near my brothers who both are coaches at HS level. My oldest DS just got done with a college coaching stint up at a Lake State in northern MI.

No UK grads here, but Dad is a big Kentucky basketball fan. Yes, IU is a big rival.

My oldest, now 25, was all set to go to UK, then changed her mind at the last minute for art school here in the Cincinnati area.

DD who is a high school senior thinks UK is too big for her. She's likely headed to Murray KY next year.
