Change Last Year AP to DVC PAP now

Hi,

We bought our regular AP's last June 27th. We are going on June 10th for 11 days. I read people took those AP's from last year and turned them in at guest services and got DVC PAP's for the remainder of their AP year and got $5 back for each AP because of discount. Has anyone done this recently and which guest services did you go too? Most said previously that they did it at DTD.

We did this outside of Epcot, and it was worth it, we spent a lot of time at the water parks. We did not get the $5 back that has been reported. Recently, others have done this and have reported having to pay a small amount to upgrade ($20?). Seems there has been some inconsistancy with this transaction. Good Luck.

We also did it about a month ago. Only had 3 weeks left on the APs that were purchased last may. Got the upgrade and a $14 cash refund.

Can anyone confirm that these upgrades are still being done? I'm going this Friday and would like to upgrade our APs to PAPs for free.

I got it done when we went, but it took begging and pleading with them at DTD guest services. EPCOT just refused to do it at all. Others have said DVC says it is ok to do it and that some CM's will just do it without problem. Not in my case. They finally did it, but no refund of money was given. It was worth the begging though. We went to Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Brach and DisneyQuest with it.
