Chances of upgrading from a studio to a 1br in October?

I have a studio booked 10.11-10.18 and have decided we'd rather have a 1br. It's driving me nuts to have to wait until Tuesday to find out if there's availability -- what do you think my chances are? Has anyone checked for a 1br in October lately?

Your chances are slim to none, IMO. There are waitlists for most of October that members have been on for months with no luck. You may be able to get a day or two switched, but finding availability for the whole week is going to be a near impossibility. It's always worth a phone call though.

Based on the October 2008 thread on the DVC - Resort Reservation Availability Forum, it doesn't look very good. And since the Forum is so new, I'm sure the reports don't even fully reflect availability (or lack there of).

That said, it never hurts to call and waitlist. Sometimes, you just get lucky! Hope this is one of those times for you.

I've had the same thought as you about changing my studio (oct 11-15) and have called 1x per day the last week or so to see if a 1 bedroom has opened up. No luck at any resort.

Not sure if will do you any good, but I cancelled a 1 bedroom at OKW for 10/13 thru 10/20 on Saturday.
